Dont know why you would want to even do this? Look at the freaking interior! :scared: Well......at least the car is black!

Big V12 up front and rear wheel drive. This has always been the recipe of a true Ferrari. Sure the mid-engined V8 series of cars have proven to be impeccable performers but there is something special about a big Ferrari GT. When the 550 Maranello was unveiled I truly suffered. It was such a special looking car I would have done anything to own one. Living close to one of the UK's biggest Ferrari dealers didn't really help as not one day went by that I did not see the 550 in all its glory out on test drives or sitting in the showroom. It was hell, in a good way. But fast forward a few years and I now find myself in front of Veilside's version of the updated original car, the 575 Maranello.

As with the Bentley Continental GT this Ferrari is part of the new Premium Collection the company recently launched. Mr. Yokomaku, the founder and president of Veilside, got to work on the 575's exterior by creating a subtle kit that would add some Veilside style to the Italian exotic. Using carbon fiber he molded a deeper front splitter into the original front bumper and integrated canards on the sides to generate some front downforce. This, in theory, should help high speed cornering while the rear Venturi diffuser generates more downforce. Some side under spoilers finish off the kit which looks pretty menacing on this black demo car. 19-inch Andrew Premier Series chrome wheels are used for an in your face pimp look, and wear Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tyres...massive 355/25 for the rears!

The titanium exhaust, which costs ¥1.5 million(!), does wonders for the Maranello's V12, which in Ferrari terms does not sound at all special. The aggressive down-changes made by the F1 gearbox are followed by lots of crackling and backfiring which sounds pretty nice out on the road.
The interior has been upholstered in red ostrich leather which doesn't look as horrendous as it sounds, but why anyone would replace the soft Italian leather of the standard car is beyond me. A Pioneer head-unit with flip-out LCD screen takes care of the audio/video install which also includes and HD navigation module.

that ostrich leather is complete garbage. all those holes and crap from where the feathers were plucked....that freaks me out, and it looks ugly too.

It's not too bad. Could have been alot worse considering it's Veilside,

So thats what that is. I was gonna say, I think the interior needs some Clearasil or something...

Doesn't look to bad, I mean it could be worse. I like the color scheme of the interior, but ostrich leather has never been my thing. The wheels are terriable and the body kit is kinda meh. Oh well I've never really gotten to fired up about Veilside.

Haha! What an abomination. I haven't laughed this hard for days! They say laughter is the best medicine. Veilside should get the next Nobel Prize!

The gap between the seams of the front bumper is HUGE. Totally unacceptable - especially if you want to do it to a car that's already this expensive. Come to think of it, the fitting of everything but the rear bumper is just a bit off. In addition to that, the rims are extremely tacky and the leather on the interior just doesn't suit the car. If it was black or grey, it *might* be better.

Nice car, except for the nasty rims and nasty leather.
I agree. Even the rims wouldn't be that bad, if it wasn't for the retarded design on the spokes. The red parts of the leather interior is truly disgusting.

My opinion, too... perhaps the body kit is not smooth enough, it is not one piece, more like Ferrari + body kit, if you know what i mean, especially if you look at it from front-right/left....

Looks nice the rims are too pimped out for me but i'd still take one if given to me. The prodrive kit looks okay.

Anyone who can afford a car like this doesn't want it to sound like a riced-out Civic ...

Uhhhhh....Civics don't crackle and backfire. They only make continuous fart sounds. As for the 575 Veilside, I've never been a fan of their body kits. However, this one actually looks pretty decent since it doesn't go too far away from a stock look. As for the ostritch leather....HELLZ YEAH! Who would have ever thought of putting something like that in a car. Talk about EXOTIC!!! 👍 I'd love one of these babies because it is something that no one else would drive around. Someone please buy me one. As for the rest of you, try to think with an open mind, exploring new styles and materials. This is NOT your average car by far.

NOTE: The rims SUCK! Anything but Chrome!!!

VEILSIDE IN SEMI TASTEFUL BODYKIT SHOCK!!!!!!

Ignoring the leather and pimpish wheels it isn't actually too bad considering who did it. I'd take the Prodrive one though :D

The people at Veilside need to have their eyes burned out with soldering irons, because that's what it feels like they do to me every time I see one of their 'creations'.

That other pic posted isn't of a "Prodrive" kit for the car. Thats the "550 LM" that was built for the "Autosport International 2005" show. It was based on the car that Prodrive built and raced, but has nothing to do with Prodrive. It was built by Care Racing and ESMotorsports. They're only making 100 of them. The idea was posed by Prodrive, but was never taken on. So, CR and ESM took the idea and ran with it. The car is actually called the "Care Racing 550 LM Limited Edition". They are converted at ESM, who also is the UK importer of Paganis. They weigh 700lbs lighter than a stock 550 Maranello, and have 55hp more than the stock car as well. Sweet car, if a little hard to find. Most went to collectors.

The best aftermarket option for a Ferrari,

As far as I know, thats not an after market option. There was an article about it in my MOTOR mag a few months back

It isn't done through Prodrive. Care Racing is the company that assembles it (in the UK) and yes, you can send in your own 550 and have it look like that. The wing can be white or black. That is the car that made the cover of EVO a while back, and the same car they took to Le Mans to test out.

EDIT: didn't see the paragraph above the ESM pictures. My bad.

Actually, the car is assembled by ESM. It was just brought about by the Care Racing team funds. They were the team that funded the Prodrive efforts in the first place, so they saw fit to bring the road car about as well. But, the cars are converted at ESM, for roughly $175K ($90k GBP), plus a car. Well worth it, if you ask me.
