Settings I used were:
SRF: On
TCS: Off
ABS: 7
Controller Sensitivity: 7
Everything else turned off.

I didn't even know you could change the brake balance with the DS3 til read a post on here somewhere, so it must be set to default.

Why do you have skid recovery force on? You're only cheating yourself!

Because you are allowed to. If you manage to golden it, no matter what kind of settings you've used, you'er pro enough, already :).

The first time you start the race, set up the RA functions as you wish and then restart.
When you restart, it will save your settings. Otherwise if you finish or DQ they will go back to default.

I tried that with no luck.

Just golded Suzuka after 3 days of trying. It's not that my times were bad it was because I couldn't link a good first andsecond together. On my gold attempt my out lap was a 1.05.23x and my second was a 1.04.73x... See, great 1st lap but still couldn't link two good ones, not that I ever have to worry about it again now :)

You are arguably at a disadvantage using the DS3 over a steering wheel, so with an unrealistic car such as the X1 using SRF I do not consider cheating whatsoever.

Could not have put it any better myself :)

I have beaten the whole challenge with a DualShock 3, I recommend using roof cam for driving it.
Also, select traction control to either 1 or 0, the X2010 won't spin easily. The steering sensitivity should be +1.

finally attempting this. got bronze on monza second try. but monza is the easiest :|

edit: suzuka down
edit2: ring done! hardest for me.. Suzuka was actually fun

play around with the abs & sensitivity for each track! the second lap is easier cause the tires are heated

With a DFGT, gold took me 1hour on Monza, 3 on Nurb, and 8 on Suzuka, be ready to cry with a DS3 on Suzuka. Good luck.

I'm crying already;p
Golded monza and ring. atm I miss like ~2 secs to gold suzuka grrrrr my DS3 is on fire ;p

Two of the main tricky bits on Suzuka for me is the first right bend which turns into a sharper 2nd bend and then a similar left bend at the other end of the circuit just before the long straight. Both require controlled acceleration which is tough using buttons. I may have to reassign the acceleration & brake controls to the shoulder buttons.

After a LONG break I went back to attemt the challenges again. I was able to get bronze in all 3 last night... took me about 3 hours with the DS3 :nervous: I had most trouble with the ring then suzuka and monza was the easiest. to those that have gotten gold in the challenges! maybe one day I will go back and attempt to get gold in all of them :indiff:

I've managed to get silver on all 3 using ds3 relativley easy, but I really can't see myself getting gold. The precision required for two perfect laps...

Arrrggghhhhh!!! I'm 2 seconds off getting gold with the DS3 on Suzuka! I'm losing a second per lap but finding it difficult to see where I'm losing the time. :(

I have golded all 3 challenges with my DS3, i have replays in my PS3 and on youtube. I f anyone is interested i can send replays via e mail and you import all of them to replay mode and you can watch the races to see where you are loosing time.

I gave up on this challenge after my Driving Force GT died, so got someone on the other side of the world to gold the races for me. Thank you PlayStation Plus. :)

Re: Suzuka
you can push harder through the esses than does Vettel you make all time there then into degener 1 you must with balls to wall and push only a slight lift look at the brake downshift onto the throttle to level the car then into degener 2 quick downshift into 2nd! you will get more push into slight uphill into hairpin. after hairpin drive fast then again next lap you gain time in esses curves and you will beat him also try last chicane in 2nd gear it's downhill after and momentum of the car is increased so 1st might be a waste of time.

i take it back you must floor it through degener 1. I am just watching the replay and you goo flat there no downshift.

Congratz dude
Wanted to ask, do you think it's better to use the triggers as acceleration and braking when using a ds3? I have suzuka left and its driving me nuts.:grumpy:

Interesting you should ask this... When doing Nurburgring I switched to the triggers and found I was almost as quick as using the buttons but just didn't feel comfortable with it. You can have greater acceleration & braking control with the triggers but as I wasn't noticing any real improvements I stuck with the default setup.

With Suzuka I used the directional pad for steering as I found I wasn't getting full lock with the analogue sticks. Partly due to me turning direction so fast that the stick was moving diagonally instead of straight across.
