Video games I regret buying... am I reading you right? This one is easy- "Pro Race Driver." It's one of those "good while it lasted" deals. I liked its storyline at first, because my original skepticism was that the game would be horrible because of a storyline. It's much like how I thought the storyline element killed "Diddy Kong Racing," which a number of you seem to LOVE. But "Pro Race Driver" got under my skin and dared me to race like an ass just to save my ass in the field of battle. And that's not cool, player. Even worse were some of the stupid one-on-one challenges. Who the hell would make a game in which you take a car as sophisticated as the Toyota GT-One and give it to (not trying to stereotype) a country boy to race around the Charlotte oval with? The oval racing wouldn't get fixed until "ToCA Race Driver 3," which hit the marks perfectly. The only series in the Power Tour I was actually good at was that one series where you race a Corvette C5 around mostly European courses and features Rockingham (England) and the road course to Rockingham (England).
But after a while, I got sick of getting b:censored:slapped around the track, breaking my car at that horrible Canberra street course, getting my ass pounded in DTM... I'm sorry. I hated this game. The AI is worse in this game than in ToCA Race Driver 3. Worse in the sense of overaggressive AI. I hated this racing game with a passion. Only redeeming quality of this game was that there were there some available tracks that you don't have to be in a specific series to race. The game had Monza, which I love. Vancouver was pretty nice in the game. Other than that, I'm reluctant to sell this game.
