It wouldn't be out of the question for Walkinshaw to ask BMW. I just cant see a VW Passat, Hyundai because of their WRC bid or KIA joining. I cant see what team would join with The Pepsi Max Crew. Erebus would realistically make one more car. The rest of the field would have to be Altimas and Nissan Motorsport aren't ready to make customer cars. Infiniti? maybe. Toyota? if/when those NZV8 tourers start winning, maybe. Where's the modern day Sierra/Sapphire Cosworth when you need one?!

Walkinshaw aren't running the factory Holden team, they are running a factory Holden team.

Apologies, should have worded my post better.
Walkinshaw used to run Jaguars back in the 1980s.

Yeah, I'm aware of Walkinshaw's association with Jaguar in the past. Hell, they won Bathurst in '85 with them.

Wow. Looks fantastic, in my view. Love it.

Here's a bigger picture of the render. 👍

Teams to run special tribute stickers for Allan Simonsen.
Special tribute stickers honouring Allan Simonsen will be distributed to all V8 Supercars teams and support categories at the Sucrogen Townsville 400 starting today week.
Simonsen, tragically killed in the opening 10 minutes of the Le Mans 24 Hour last weekend at the wheel of an Aston Martin, had a special affinity with Australian racing.
He competed in the V8 Ute Series in 2005, won the Australian GT Championship in 2007 and finished on the Bathurst 1000 podium in a Commodore he shared with Greg Murphy two years ago.

Tim Slade announced he will have new livery this weekend after receiving new Bell helmet and race suit. Argh! im gonna miss this race weekend!

State of Origin livery for HRT.
The factory Holden team will split allegiances ahead of this weekend's Sucrogen Townsville 400, with State of Origin-themed colours adorning its two Commodores.

With Holden sponsoring the National Rugby League and naming rights sponsor of the annual State Of Origin, the Holden Racing Team will carry the official Holden State Of Origin logo on their bonnets for this weekend's event in Queensland.

Garth Tander's #2 Holden will be featured against a Queensland Maroon background, while James Courtney's #22 Commodore will be backed by the New South Wales Blues.

oooo, that's gonna stir some trouble :)

what do you all think about this: http://www.v8supercars.com.au/news/ingall-too-much-qualifying

Would it be better that the starting positions begin with the finishing positions from the previous race?

What if qualifying was only at the start of the first race and enduros? drivers have to score points so, the winner should be rewarded for coming first. i'd go as far as top 3 podium finishers shouldn't have to qualify for any races. Or no more top 10 shoot out. it takes time away from racing. that could be 10 extra laps of racing(regardless of fuel loads, support races, autograph time, etc.).

Hes only saying that cos he cant qualify!

IMO for the sprint rounds it should be from where you finish the previous race. Its stupid having 3-4 qualifying sessions over a weekend.

I would prefer it stayed for the two longer race weekends where its one race each day.

I agree! I don't really like sprint races anyway as honestly the longer 200km or whatever the distance is aren't really that long but allow some planning to maybe try things. It was the only downside I saw in Texas was the races didn't really allow a ton of changes or passing if you didn't qualify good. I'm not asking for this long endurance races like Bathurst which are totally different ballgame but races shouldn't end in less than hour or so.

Agreed. 👍 Also, I'd love to see a return of having an overall round winner for the weekend.

Does anyone know if the live timing app works outside Australia? Probably a stupid question,

Are you referring to the V8SC app? If so it worked fine last year for that when they did some free stuff but I haven't paid for it this year.

I have a random question on the haulers.

How long are they total or A/B trailers each? Everytime I see them I wonder why other series don't use something similar to this to help cut down on cost to haul so many cars.

So it looks like my tablet can play the live stream. When it first loaded up I tried to put it in full screen and it gave me a "cannot play video" error, but after I hit refresh it worked just fine. Yay.

Also, Norton cars appear to be speedy this weekend, hopefully they can back it up in qualifying.

Cool.
This track will suit them. Daniel Gaunt liked the drive.

I hope FPR Play hard and don't play games by handing Whincup the C'hip.

I wasn't too impressed by Craig Baird's view of the E63. I respect the man but, to be fair, Holdsworth and Slade aren't where they want to be as far as the cars performance.

Should be an exiting race.

Yeah, I think it's bonkers HRT are still looking for drivers. If its possible, I'd be snatching up DVS drivers, NZV8 and at the very least tying to get a BTCC, Carrera Cup, or racers who drive on the right hand side of the car. Even I don't want to see HRT looking like this. I really hope they can finish the races with the new front end.

Found this article from last year.

At least Erebus have co-drivers. Apart from Greg Murphy to partner Tander, Walkinshaw still haven't worked out who will partner Courtney and Ingall. :boggled:

I heard that Ryan Briscoe was one of them, but something has happened... I know he has the ALMS ride on Scott Tucker's team with Marino Franchitti.. and select IndyCar races for Panther Racing in the #4 National Guard Chevy. Hmmm...

Both Red Bull cars outside the top 10. Don't understand why the Norton cars were so fast yesterday and absolutely failed in qualifying. FPR looks strong, all 4 cars in the top 10 shootout.

Which tires were they setup to run? It seems some teams are setup for hard tires and run better on them than soft which honestly I don't understand fully.
