Well Lowndes is making the softs work right now, 12th to 1st in 5 laps. We'll have to wait to see if track position is more important than pace at the end of the race.
Another pole for the Giz, he loves qualifying

1-2 for FPR. :)

My tablet seems to struggle through the race, at times it skips back in time about 5 seconds, plays for 10 seconds, then skips back to live viewing. Had to refresh a couple times. Better than nothing I guess...

What happened to Giz? When I left, he was in second, on about lap 30/70.

They dropped the jacks before they finished refueling so he got a drive through.
Anyone think some more might start on softs tomorrow? Lowndes was only 17 seconds back, and that included coming from 12th and after he fried his hards. Frosty showed they can go 40 laps

i got to see the race yesterday and I will today as well.
I think starting on hards might still be the best bet. whether there is a safety car or not, running 40 laps(if track temps remain the same as yesterday) if drivers have to, shouldn't be a problem.

NISMO were doing real good if Rick didn't hit that kerb. and the other three NISSANS were stuck together which shows how even the cars are.

HRT were having a silent race and Slade was holding off Courtney even while trying to cool the car. so we'll see how both teams can manage the race with their issues.

all FPR need to do is race hard. FPR have the fastest cars in the field. I admit I was shaking my head when they pitted Frosty. Then my eyes widened when I saw Whincup gaining places. FPR can stay on top if they continue to do what they have done since Darwin. Just win races.

AND... What are those guys doing in the Dunlop Series? They're just driving like they're in a parking lot by themselves. Ridiculous.

Happy with this result finally Spacegoat :sly: :)

Another Holden show, at least it wasn't the Red Bull cars.

And I can't wait until I can watch a full race from start to finish on a machine that will play the damn things with no issues. Frustrating.

Yay!! :D

Well done GT and JC, about time the HRT cars are back on top. :P

And well done to Russell and Tony D'alberto, both had solid drives.

good strategy for the teams during the safety car. well done for HRT.

Unfortunately though, I didn't get to see the race live as I went out to dinner with the folks and only found out when I returned home. Luckily caught the replay on Speed.

And great result's too for Ingall and D'alberto. All four Walkinshaw cars in the top six. 👍

Dont know what happened with RedBull :nervous: They were off pace all weekend. Still got a good lead in the championship so not all bad

Great to see HRT finally bounce back!

Some interesting speculation in that article. Courtney to Erebus or Tekno. Ingall to Erebus. Slade to Walkinshaw.

I can't see Ingall going to Erebus. He's said he wants to retire, and he's going to have a hard time getting a seat because of it. He might stand a chance if Slade is taken by HRT, but Courtney would be the wiser option for them.

I don't want to see Slade go. If Slade goes to HRT, Ingall stays in Walkinshaw. I can see Courtney at Tekno, I cant picture his face in the Erebus line-up but, it would be cool him driving an E63. Davison back at HRT? Or maybe Davison at Erebus? Where will Frosty go? Cant see him driving a Holden. it's a bit scary at the moment. Another angle is, what if Volvo use a works driver, where does that leave Premat?

It's kind of funny to see all the rumors being spread now and wondering who will do what.

I do wish Slade will stand where he is and grow into that roll BUT I can't blame him if something bigger falls in his lap for the moment.

Courtney doesn't really fit anywhere else to me honestly. Just like Frosty at FPR, some guys can switch but few seem like one make at this point.

Frosty driving for Holden would be like Jeff Gordon driving for Toyota next year.

Wouldn't be surprised if Walkinshaw plan on retaining Courtney and are eyeing off Slade to take over the Supercheap ride next year.

I was thinking about Slade getting that ride as well but, he's young and fast and would sit nicely in the HRT. Only thing is, Van Gisbergen. If he was to become available, I bet HRT would snatch him quick! Then, yeah, I agree with you on putting Slade in Ingalls's car.

Well, we have some interesting news "today"....

Weight%20V8%20SUPERCARS%20CHAMPIONSHIP%20TOWNSVILLE.jpg

The minimum weight of a V8 Supercar has risen from 1400 to 1410kg.
While it sounds insignificant, the 10kg increase has been strongly debated.

It has been signed off by the V8 Supercars Commission as a cost saving measure, and it is because ''Some teams had been struggling to meet the 1400kg minimum weight level and faced significant expenditure to reach it.''

Wonder what teams were having issues meeting weight? They aren't adding a ton but still why not just add it somewhere to help the car?

Ford had the problem because they don't have aluminium panels on their road cars. AMG, NISMO met the target.

So Ford are heaviest? If so then that makes sense to some of issues of why not always the fastest.

I think FPR have the fastest cars since the season began.

This is going to hurt NISSAN the most. the good part is where to place the ballast for the other teams.

Still, 1410kg is light compared to a road going 370Z.

I'm torn as it could open up some seats but at same time we don't need any more cars from that team.

Doesn't Triple 8 build cars for Tekno anyway? Granted building a car for someone and running another team is different and valid point as might as well run 4 compared to 3 as not like at that point cost will end up being that big.
