I went out to the streets of Sydney last tuesday to get an idea of the track layout and feel ahead of the final round this weekend. Took a few pictures of the adventure, still a bit of work to do considering this was only a week out from the race. Always amazes me that they can build these tracks so fast!

Is anyone else heading out there on the weekend? I will be there competing in the Aussie Racing Car Series (Support category) so for me it's an event I am really looking forward to! If you're there, feel free to come and say hello (Racecentre sponsored - #10).

@Mad94d Great to see you'll out there be competing! I was going to ask you when a V8 team will give you a test for your efforts in the iRacing series but it seems you're already on your way there! Hope to see you competing at the Clipsal 500 next year! 👍

It's always interesting to see a street circuit in the process of being built and finding the remnants of a race weeks afterwards. I remember, years ago, riding my bike on bits of the Adelaide Street Circuit, riding over the curbing at the turn 9 hairpin, etc. :D

You know I had to think a minute to who he was, he always flies under my radar on here but good luck! Those cars look fun to drive but a handful. If I was local I would come speak to you.

Good luck Mad! About time you got some real world track time, you deserve it! Wish Superview showed the Aussie racing cars., guess I'll have to find a stream for that.

Theyre putting their car in GT6!!!!

Unfortunately, I had to cancel volunteering at the race as I couldnt get time off!!!!

I remember a bunch of years ago they had the first section of the track open, one night I went there with friends and went back and forth over the curbing on the first chicane in my car, great fun. :D

Superview schedule for those in the USA for this weekend: (all times in MST - Arizona)

Friday
05:53pm - Qualifying for Race 35
08:03pm - Top 10 Shootout
11:00pm - Race 35

Saturday
06:38pm - Qualifying for Race 36
08:45pm - Race 36

I also hope this means there's a less likely chance of seeing Morris co-piloting a car at the endurance rounds next year! :p

And while we're speaking about DJR. DJR confirms Pye as Mostert's replacement.
Just hours after officially locking in a second Racing Entitlements Contract, Dick Johnson has revealed that Scott Pye will replace Chaz Mostert as his team’s lead driver next season.

Johnson has told The Daily Telegraph that he has recruited Pye, who currently drives for Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport, while also re-signing current major backer Wilson Security.

Both deals are for the next two seasons.

Anyone know what time the Volvo announcement is? Pretty sure it's morning there. :p

Yeah I saw that after it happened. Surprised nobody said anything at the time.

Jeez, that's not good at all. I wonder if there will be any changes to the regulations regarding the roll cages during the off-season, or more likely for 2015 then.

Roger (Penske) has basically asked if we should get involved from a sponsorship point of view,” Cindric told Speedcafe.com.“He’s not going to get involved overnight or maybe at all. He asked if I could come across from the US and give him my perspective of the series. So I’m just here as an observer.“Obviously with our NASCAR affiliation with Ford it was an opportunity to come across and spend some time with some of the Ford teams, and FPR and DJR were nice enough to show me around.

Interesting, even if it is just for sponsorship.

Great run by Percat in qualifying starting 13th. Wouldn't be surprised if he scores a top ten finish this weekend. Pleased to see D'Alberto qualify in the top ten too. 👍

Edit: And the damage to Tander's car.

Weekend is starting out crappy. Hopefully Frosty can been that #1 car to the first turn.

I just dont want that #1 to win full stop

Good thing the race is later on for Wil and Tander. Should be some good racing midfield. Too bad for Premat as well.

Might as well had him the damn trophy. Season's over.

Roland needs to learn to just shut up. Lowndes caused that all to himself by sliding up infront of Frosty, what was Frosty supposed to do when someone brakes harder infront of you as you are on them already?

:( Frosty made the move on Whincup and left the door wide open. I hate when Frosty does that. You want the Championship? Make Whincup bin you in the tires. Cant wait til next year.

Oh well, at least D'Alberto, Caruso & Slade are in the top ten.

👍

Well, championship over. Not good for the series for the same driver/team to win 5 titles in 6 years. Looking forward to Volvo next year, and hopefully a new champion.

Also, Van Gisbergen is an idiot. No way that move was ever going to work. I used to like him, but he's been driving like a complete moron the last few rounds.

3 Nissans in the top 10 is an awesome result for them, and good to see Slade in the top 10 as well. I'm sure he'll be up there more often with Walkinshaw next season.

Driver of the day: Jonathan Webb, with an excellent drive to second place after being at the back since Austin.

Idiot of the day: A tough call between Van Gisbergen and Winterbottom, but Frosty gets this one. He threw the race away by letting Whincup inside in turn 1, then punted Lowndes. And yes, that was his fault. In that situation Lowndes was always going to have to brake early, and Frosty didn't account for that and ran into him.

Guess it won't matter if I miss tomorrows race. I'll decide based on qualifying results.

Good results for the Nissan crowd.
