Elsewhere, Gordon Shedden has said that he wants to do Bathurst if his BTCC commitments allow for it, and used the Bathurst 12-Hour to get experience of the circuit. Matthias Ekstrom wants to do all of the enduros, but the DTM calendar apparently clashes with at least one race (Sandown, I think). Olivier Gavin has also put his name out there, while Nissan is seriously considering putting two of their internationals at Kelly Racing for the entire Endurance Cup.

Looks fantastic. For mine it's up there with HRT and the BJR BOC livery as the the best unveiled so far. Looking forward to FPR later tonight and the Erebus launch tomorrow.

I love it! Looking forward to seeing how it goes!

In other news, Webb will be partnering Van Gisbergen at Tekno for the enduros, that has to be one of the better lineups out there. They could be a dark horse for the Enduro Cup. (I know, it's a little early for that :p)

I quite like the look of the Volvo as well 👍

This is probably going to sound silly, but I like the launch. It's simple and effective: find a good location, put the car in natural light, and let the photographers snap away. It's much more candid, much more tangible, and much more personal than posed studio photos with lens flares and fog machines and drivers looking constipated as they stare down the camera man.

And it helps that the car is stunning.

Sounds totally different to the others, that's a good thing (although possibly the worst sound of them all for my tastes).

Isn't Webb driving his own car this season? One car operation for Tekno?

That is sex on wheels. Nuff said. Interesting to see the name Mclaughlin is under the 34. Dont tell me he has changed numbers
Edit: I saw the release video and noticed that it had Dahlgren on the other side so it must have just been something to have both the drivers names on the car

Yeah, Tekno down-scaled to 1 car this year. Van Gisbergen will be the full time driver, with VIP Petfoods backing like last year. They were in talks with Tony D'alberto about running a second car with his REC, but sadly they couldn't find enough sponsorship.

HHA to sponsor Percat for 12 events.
Walkinshaw Racing’s fourth V8 Supercars entry will race in the colours of Heavy Haulage Australia for 12 events this season.

The Nick Percat-driven Holden has been added to Walkinshaw’s existing three-car line-up this year through the movement of James Rosenberg’s Racing Entitlements Contract.
The #222 Percat Holden will race in HAA colours from the second round at Symmons Plains through to the penultimate event at Phillip Island.
Percat will share a garage with Walkinshaw’s Supercheap Auto Racing #47 Holden, which will be driven by Slade.

Both cars will appear in ‘testing’ liveries at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.

What time are the FPR and T8 launches? I'm guessing it will be about 6pm.

Apparently all four FPR cars will be there.

I believe that Triple 8 launch is 8.30pm. Guessing FPR may be an hour or two earlier.

Edit:

And a FPR Preview.

Roger Penske is definitely involved - Western Star Trucks is closely associated with his company.

Guess I'll have to see them in the morning. Hitting the sack.

That sucks, I like Tekno and Webb wasn't a hack either, able to put in some very commendable performances.

Changed my mind, it's only a few minutes. :p

Is it just me, or is Lowndes a lot more grey up top than last season? :dopey: I'm finding a lot of these cars are remarkably similar to last year.

"Myyyyy, Grandma. What big wing you got.... to haavvvve!" That S60 could be doo doo brown and I'd like it. The thing is so compact looking.

And you'd think 7mate would cancel How I Met Your Mother, Swamp People and Tattoo Nightmares, to show a review of the just announced V8 liveries.

Why? They're just livery launches. The cars remain the same; all that changes is the colours. It takes five minutes to unveil the car and get a few quick photos - if they can cover it in a twenty-second spot late in the news bulletin (and they can), then they will.

I'll post one of these :sly: at the end of my slick posts. 👍

Looks better than the Mercedes did. I expected more out of the Benz chassis last year looks wise, but then again I haven't seem 1 with 1 of the teams that has a s1ck livery package as it is Ike the new Toll Teams Holden for example.

All the liveries last year, in my opinion, looked better in the flesh. That's why I'm not too critical at the moment.

Not sure about the gold on the Bottle-O car, think white would look better.

Not at all a fan of the Jeld Wen car, there's way too much going on for my liking. Also, why is there a Pirelli logo on the front guard, isn't the spec tire Dunlop?
Lots of sponsors on both cars though, which is a good sign.

Edit: having seen a picture of the actual cars (not a render) I can say I've changed my mind and I quite like the Bottle-O car. Also, the Jeld Wen car seems to be chrome rather than silver. I agree with prisonermonkeys that if the yellow was toned down it would look fine. Pepsi cars are kinda boring though.

I love the Bottle-O design. It is equal with the Volvos for best design (so far). The Pepsi Max cars are also good, but that bloody green band across the bonnet hurts it again. And I agree that there is too much going on in the Jeld-Wen design, but remove the yellow geometric design and it would look great.

I'm still 50/50 with all three liveries. Jeldwen is decent, possibly a bit overcrowded and the Pepsi and Bottle-O liveries look pretty plain in the flesh

No more FPV GT335 on the rear bumper bars.
