Love the redbulls, simple is best. Last year it was a bit dull with the grey/silver but it looks great with the yellow. Looks very nice and professional. Loving the bottle-o car too! Erebus just doesnt do it for me.. its a nice design but not what I expected for a car sponsored by Citizen. Loving the JDR Nissans, FPR seems bland but still look good.

If anyone has missed the Bathurst 12H and/or doesnt know what a FOCUS GTC car is, here ya go:

Can't wait for video.

Scotty's doing well. In the top 10 at the moment (9th i think)

Rick Kelly fastest with a 1:48

All I'll say about Erebus this year, as long as Will or Lee finish above Slade and Van Gisbergen at the end of the season, l call it a win.

If only Mercedes would back Erebus. That would complete factory backing for all the manufacturers...

Volvo at the top for a brief moment. Considering the track conditions, not sure if that means anything.

It's testing. It never means anything.

True, testing doesnt mean much. Erebus didnt know about the hot shoe issue until Clipsal. Nismo didnt know how their aero affected their straightline performance til Clipsal.

It's great to see all these young drivers in the series, I can't believe after all the hoop-lah Ingall has returned for another season, dude needs to give up his seat to someone more deserving.

I don't think there is anyone in the sport who doesn't truly deserve to be there, though I have my doubts about the Kelly Brothers.

Anyway, what was that big announcement Erebus were talking about at 12:40pm today?

Probably the $50k check they gave to a local charity. Money they saved from not having a huge pre-season reveal of the cars.

That seems to be the trend; teams are securing sponsorship by promising to pay a percentage of it to charity. Volvo are doing the same.

Five distinct sounds. Two more weeks.

Just got back from the testing day. Nasty weather in the morning but straight after lunch most teams came out on slicks because the track was only 'damp'.

The Volvo definitely sounded smoother than the other engines, the Nissan still sounds the harshest on lift-off.

Best presented teams on the day had to be GRM/Volvo and HRT. The HRT cars look so much better in the flesh than on a computer screen.

The only mechanical failure I saw whilst there (I left a little early) was the power steering going on one of the Volvos in the last minute of the morning session. Hopefully that is a sign that everybody has a reliable package for the season.

Despite the bad weather there was very little in the way of sideways action. Even when the weather was transitioning and a few brave drivers threw slicks on early I only saw a handful of cars getting sideways when on the throttle. There did seem to be a lot of cars getting understeer - hard to say if that was just the weather or something else.

Heat was a major factor last year. When I think about the format for Clipsal, makes me think it's set up so we dont have the same 2013 incidents. Also, for the Saturday, it'll be cooler later in the day. So, I don't think it was so much "trying something new". may be more about keeping all the new players in the game with intermission.

Great video! Every car looks even better than their launch shots except the Jeldwen falcon. Needs to lose all the yellow lines, just looks too busy. HRT car looks great, stands out a lot. The Volvo looks amazing!

Yeah, I didn't like the HRT livery that much in the launch shot, but that dayglo red looks excellent on track! On the other hand I really liked the Erebus cars on the launch, but they only look okay on track.

I think the Volvo is a sweet looking car in all aspects, sounds nice and just looks really good in that livery! HRT has soft spot because I love some dayglo colors period, everything else is iffy (Redbull atleast looks better but they still can do better).

FPR/Pepsi Max should have stuck to something like they had last year before all the switch (one fire and one ice instead) and RedBull needs to do the blue on Whincup and silver on Lowndes if you ask me.

Just noticed in the video that HRT are using wheels with a chrome lip and Red insert rather than the all Red wheels we saw in the launch pictures. Looks much better.

I see Erebus doing an early season redesign of its wrap(I hope). I've already outgrown it. I'd prefer matte black with the flouro blue or even purple. The 'V' on the Volvo is too big to me. The cars still look compact and wide, though. I like that 👍 The HRTs will look supreme come race day. The RBs yellow isnt too bad. At least we can see the body a bit better than last year. I still dont mind the Jeldwen.

May I ask, where TEKNO at the test??

They only have one car this year, the #97 VIP Petfoods entry for Shane Van Gisbergen. He was sixth overall.

As for the #19 car, they shuffled things around - Van Gisbergen's car is being entered under the REC used to enter Webb in 2013. The REC used to enter Van Gisbergen last year was returned to Paul Morris Motorsport (you can only lease an REC for two years; after that, you have to buy it or return it to its owner), and Morris sold it to Dick Johnson Racing. That REC is being used to enter car #16 for Scott Pye; the #12 REC that Johnson used last year was returned to Triple F Racing, who ultimately handed it back to VESA.

The livery is the same as last year, correct??

Maybe. They tested in the same livery, but it's possible they will have something new come Clipsal.
