And the track is only going to get quicker too, can't imagine what times they are going to pull during qualifying.

2.04s are definitely reachable

Possible livery for next season being revealed on the Penske Stock car.

Man, if Reynolds can stay in the fight like a couple years back, he won't take second again.

Too many variables than years past. Truly anyone can win this Sunday. I will NOT call it.

Awesome day with 3 cars breaking the record including Reynolds by half a second. My tip is that come saturday arvo, a 2:05.45 will get you pole. I know it is practice but the number 1 is struggling

I'm always open to meeting new people and having productive discussions on common interests, if any of my fellow GTP friends are on the mountain and interested in having a beer, PM me,

Wouldn't be at all surprised if the series returns to being called the ATCC with that - no matter which side of the fence you sit on, V8 Supercars isn't, well, V8 Supercars without Ford or Holden.

Perfect opportunity for the likes of Audi, BMW, Toyota (Lexus perhaps) etc to get into it...

The sport will never be the same without the Holden and Ford rivalry. As a big Holden supporter myself I will begin to lose interest if Ford goes. I love to hate Ford and without them it makes winning boring.

I'm not well educated in V8 Supercars history and the Ford and Holden rivalry at Bathurst, I do know it's dear in Aussie hearts.

Even I will feel the essence of V8 Supercars lost without any Ford presence. If Holden disappear too then it'll just become a V8 Touring Car Championship like the Euro V8 Series.

Unless Ford bring the Mustang or Fusion into the sport and Holden re badge Impalas (if they do lose the Commodore) then I suppose it could be salvaged to some degree.

It's not as simple as you think, majority of fans support Holden over Ford since it was V8 Supercars and then there's still a big crowd that are still sour about the fact Ford and Holden got the other manufacturers kicked out. After Nissan completely decimated the field with its AWD GT-R back in Group A days.

Yeah, I think we'll easily see high 2.05's today. Wouldn't be surprised in the least if one or two get down into the mid 2.05's during the shoot out.

Thanks for the times, hopefully I can catch the end of the race after going to Charlotte.

Great intro by ch7 then.

Gotta keep off the dirt at McPhillemy first. ;)

1) Sucks for Renolds, not good. Glad he's ok, that was a hard lick.

2) Whincup in the wall. Woo.

Reynolds !!!

WHINCUP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Impressive run by BJR with all the cars running that strong. Sucks to see JC not make it but with Murphy, they will be strong!

So cool to see both Wood and Perkins in the top ten. All three BJR cars look really strong, still think that Winterbottom/Owen are the ones to beat though.

Was hoping the strong showing by Nissan at the start would carry to the end, sadly not so.

unlucky for Reynolds, dropped it right in front of me! Solid lick!
