Not directly related but still relevant. I can't help but feel that the commentators are "supporting" Lowndes. Don't get me wrong, I love Craig and am a fan of both him and Mark but the bias is very clear. An example being Skaife stating that "we need him (Lowndes) to get a certain amount of points to win it"

Most of the bias can come down to the fact that Skaife and Ingall are both good mates of Lowndes, and a bit more of that light bias can come down to them feeling for the crappy run Lowndes has had over the years always being the Number 2 driver at Red Bull and never getting a proper chance at the title without the team putting Whincup ahead of him. Now the shoes on the other foot, so you can understand that the commentators, Skaife in particular, are getting behind Lowndes.

It would be a great story and fitting way for Lowndes to start the final phase of his career.

I've got no problems with brands using their muscle to make sure that their rivals don't get the championship,
And if van Gisbergen was using muscle to aid Lowndes when he took Reynolds out, what then? Because all of a sudden, Lowndes only needs to race Winterbottom; he doesn't need to worry about Reynolds. I'd say that worked out pretty well for Holden ...

Still no word on a penalty for Shane van 🤬?

Missed all the racing today, but I'll be at my old mans tomorrow to take advantage of his Foxtel.

How many points did Frosty lose today? How does it look for the top 3 now? V8Supercars site won't load for me at the moment on my phone.

2nd & 3rd are still less than 300 points from Frosty. Only, Reynolds in 3rd now.

That lame penalty is what happens when you have one of the dirtiest drivers of the period (Bhargwanna) being the judge.

Really hoping that Triple Eight don't do what Skaife snd Ingall insinuate that they could do and deliberately double-stack Whincup behind Lowndes to box Winterbottom in to screw hus race up. If they do, then hopefully the stewards have the sense to give Lowndes a drive-through penalty. It might unfairly punish him, but the team should not be allowed to so blatantly manipulate the outcome of the race and championship like that.

Points don't do a thing.

Especially when SVG isn't in championship contention anymore. It's things like this that really make the sport look very amateurish.

All four Nissan's in the top 11.

Pye might have a chance if The Future has another average start. But, those Nissans... Pretty Damn Quick. :nervous:

Delusional Davison thinks he wasn't a financial burden to Erebus, despite being paid close to a million dollars a year, in a team where money was already tight.

I'll drive the car for 1/4 that. Maybe less.

I'm actually nervous about this one.

Of course Reynolds and Van Gisburgen are next to each other

Onya Lowndes. Because that's the best way to win the championship.

As usual we see more footage of Whincup in 12th then any of the drivers at the front of the pack

Umm, how is Pye behind Whincup?

 Pye is driving a Holden.

Bargwanna explained the light penalty as being because Reynolds should have given van Gisbergen racing room. Given the relative positions of the two cars at the time, Bargwanna's verdict amounts to "Reynolds should have given up and let van Gisbergen past" even though van Gisbergen had no claim to the position.

Yeah it seems that he completely ignored the fact that he bumped Reynolds in order to get that close in the first place

Going to be an interesting 22laps

Wait. Why is Pye in 22nd?

The daggone #17 is nowhere. :banghead:

Along with the #22. Seems to be the way with HRT over the last decade. Great result one race followed up by nothing but mediocrity.

Tander capitalizes though. He makes up positions. Good to be in the top 10.

Whincup is going to grab that spot, no way Frosty will be able to hold him off.
