What a great and exciting race today! Really can't wait for tomorrows race.👍
 
Missed the race but they just posted the highlights on their YouTube channel. Looked like some epic racing as usual! Sucks what happened to Davison, but I felt a bit better knowing that Whincup was knocked out too and that the championship would remain close. That was a pretty nasty wreck. Definitely won't be missing tomorrow's race.
 
10 points between Whincup & Davision in the championship. Hopefully its going to be a very close championship battle this year :D

Good race but what a heavy smack on both cars! :crazy:

I guess it was just Will getting fired up and a little too opportunistic. Shame for Jaime though as it could have been a 2nd place for him and also David Reynolds for that pit stop unfortunate after a great move he made at the first corner. Well done to Mark Winterbottom and FPR. They really do have a great car behind them all weekend so far.

I agree, the contact between Slade and Davison was nothing more, than two cars trying to occupy the same piece of track at the same time and once Davison got on to the grass, there was nothing he could do to avoid hitting Whincup.

Really feel for David Reynolds, he had a big chance to win that race yesterday.(or at least finish in the top three)

Edit: Will Davison doesn't feel the same way

It looks like Slade did move over slightly, but I don't think he would have known Will was there, he probably thought he had dropped back.
Maybe he was moving over to make a move down the inside on the next corner? Hard to judge without analyzing the vision.
Still no ones fault IMO
 
I agree with magic_town, nobody fault, just a racing incident.

I really wish, that they would go back to running numbers on the doors, instead of those stupid little yellow numbers on the windows.
 
Actually I prefer the cleaner look with the smaller numbers.

I have no idea. :lol: According to the article, it's promoting some sort of competition by Lucky 7, that has yet to start.

I hope it is permanent, because it looks fantastic.

I agree it is too NASCAR-ish but I don't know, it suits the car well from my view. If they can move some of those small decals on the front door to the fender, I think it might look even better because that fender looks.. plain.
 
That's massive, surely a massive lost for Triple Eight too! But yeah, with today's economy it's understandable.
 
It probably has more to do with Vodafone Australia being caught up in some costly legal cases regarding their coverage. They consistenty top lists of companies Australians are unhappy with.

Wouldn't think so. I don't believe that they would drop the McLaren sponsorship just yet considering F1 is a world sport while V8 Supercars is in Australia.

McLaren are sponsored by Vodafone. Triple Eight and the cricket are sponsored by Vodafone Australia, a subsidiary of Vodafone. So why on earth would the actions of a subsidiary influence the decisions of the parent company like that?

As for the Vodafone announcement, Vodafone's livery was very distinctive and one I'll surely miss.
 
I wouldn't expect them to be without a sponsor for too long. I bet their phones are ringing already.

They're not the most popular team in the sport, so I suggest that Roland Dane embraces this and only accepts money from companies that could be considered to be evil. Like BP and Halliburton and Zynga and, naturally, Weyland-Yutani.
 
They run up front though, which is the most important factor.

But I just like the idea of an evil racing team, especially when it is a team that is good at racing. It would be fun to watch everyone try and beat the evil team.
 
Telling your drivers to intentionally wreck others just to win isn't evil enough already? :lol:
