Get ready for some intense races, featuring rivals of all sorts, battleing it out on a wide variety of tracks!

General info about the Racing Series: This Racing Series will feature different championships, usually lasting between 30-60 minutes or up to 4 hours. Races will be held on different dates, usually on friday/saturday evenings in GMT time. All times posted by me are in the 24 hour format, and using GMT. During Summer time, everyone needs to add 1 additional hour to the posted GMT time.
I post countdown timers to all events, and the room will open 30 minutes before the countdown timer reaches zero. Meaning you have to be there before it reaches zero, as that is when qualifying starts.

Should you wish to participate in the event, you have to sign up in this thread, or by PM to me. Furthermore you have to attend at least one practice session, in order to prove yourself capable of driving clean and fair. As we've had problems before with people not showing up, the championship format has been changed so that you only sign up to specific races, rather than the entire championship. So, for an example. If you want to attend race 3, 5 and 8, you inform me, and then you'll only be required to attend those races. It goes without saying that if you want a chance to win the overall championship, you'll need to attend most, if not all of the races.

If you sign up, I expect you to be commited. Should something prevent you from joining, you need to PM me as soon as possible. Furthermore, I expect participants to stay up to date on rules, and to not quit the race under any circumstances. If you can't follow these simple rules, then don't bother signing up. I've had it with people who sign up, only to forget about it the next day. To aid participants in keeping up to date on rule changes, ect. I've created a "conversation" here on GTP, that all participants will be invited to. That way, you won't miss out on important info.

Participants will aquire points based on the position they finish in, in the different races.

1st receives 15 points.
2nd receives 13 points.
3rd receives 11 points.
4th receives 9 points.
5th receives 7 points.
6th and 7th receives 5 points.
8th, 9th and 10th receives 3 points.
0 points for anyone finishing above 10th place.

* For multi-class races, participants will be fighting for 3 different trophies.
* For the last two trophies, the classes are of course scored seperately.

  • Overall championship champion
  • Class 1 champion (high powered cars)
  • Class 2 champion (lower powered cars)

Unless otherwise stated, all races will feature 10-30 minute qualifying sessions, and tire wear/fuel consumption set to normal. Slipstream and grip will always be set to "real", and there is no Boost applied. All aids except ABS are restricted.

When driving without ABS, you are allowed to alter your Brake Balance to whatever setting you wish. When driving with ABS, it has to remain stock (5:5).

Dates and times for upcomming practice sessions:

More sessions will be hosted at times yet to be decided. Feel free to give suggestions, either in the thread, or by PM. These practice sessions consists of some free running, as well as short 3-10 lap races. You can attend the practice sessions regardless of whether you've signed up to the race. However, should you choose to do so then please notfiy me in the thread, so I know you aren't just some random person joining the lobby. If you then find out that you'd like to join the actual event, just let me know so I can add you to the list of participants.

Rules and Racing Etiquette:
In my events, you're off track as soon as you have less than two wheels on the track(Tarmac), unless oterwise stated in the individual race info. Should you go slightly off track on rare occasions, it's nothing to worry about. However, if you go off track by more than a car width, I expect you to take your foot off the throttle, and re-enter. Of course you should always take care not to re-enter the track right in front of other drivers.
You will of course do your best to drive clean and fair. You are not allowed to brake test or cut people off. Should you be responsible for damaging another driver, you will escort him/her to the pits. If you obtain damage to more than one wheel, you are required to pit, as you will be a safety hazard to other drivers. If you see or experience someone driving dirty, you notify me by PM, and I'll take action. Please inform me of the specific race, lap and turn when informing me of a bad driver. It can also be a good idea to save the replay, just in case I don't have it.

Sign me up as always :) .
Not so sure about being able to race for 4 hours straight though...

It's just for the last race.
No problems I guess, just make sure that everyone has a toilet break and access to a drink mid-race if they need it 👍 .
EDIT: Having problems with my GTR though; handles like a tank coming out of corners :yuck: ...!

Count me in too . I'm going for the GTE class, to more specific the BMW Z4 GT3. I think i'm more competitive in this class because i'm still stuck with a DS3 controller.

I'm still stuck with a DS3 too!

Maybe a bit closer to the time I'll go GTE too. I can't handle an LMP round Bathurst with a controller, but the SLS feels good.

I would like to enter GTE Class, also please.

Will have a test with other cars, also found GTR fairly heavy too Mster.

At least it doesn't want to kill me like the Audi R8, even the Anniversary one is hard to drive.:banghead::banghead::ouch::ouch::guilty::guilty::mad::mad:

Great new championship Andy

Sign me up! Had a super busy 6 months and some surgery on my left hand last week but I hope to be able to race. Will give it a go this weekend. Not sure about the car though, GTE for now but haven't tried the LMP's yet in GT6.

With a bit of tuning I can find that the GTR has some potential through corners on straights but corner exits are still a problem because I'm getting oversteer and the car not being responsive.

I'm currently in the process of revising the race season. Basically, the races will be shorter, but we'll have more of them. I would like to keep 2 long races though. To be more specific, I think the race at the half way point of the season and the last race (Le Mans) should be 2-4 hours long. The rest will be around 40-60 minutes long each.

Thoughts?

Race Season has been updated. It now features 9 races, with 7 races being less than an hour in lenght. The race at Spa should last about 2 hours, and will serve as our half-way point race, giving a 1.5X multiplier to points earned in that particular race. The season will then culminate in the 4 hours of Le Mans, which gives a 2X multiplier.

Count me in

Do you still wish to participate? Just making sure :)

Two more pactice sessions have been added. Remember that new people to the series are obligated to attend at least one session.

4th. January at 12.00GMT
12th. January at 12.00GMT

I thought it was on the 4th ? I can't make either of them, any chance of doing one in the evening?

Sorry, my bad. It's on the 4th, and we have another one comming on the 12th.
Hosting one in the evening isn't a problem. Would moving the session on january 12th from 12.00GMT to 19.00GMT be good enough?

Moving the session on the 4th would be better as I'm away on the 12th.

It shall be done then. ;)
And I also just realised that I forgot to invite you to our conversation. Lets change that.

So the practice session on january 4th, is now at 19.00GMT.

On the 4th i will be in, will try the SLS and see how it handles. My psn is ricky_kaka3

You shall be most welcome .

I'll wait with extending an invite for the conversation to you, until you've decided if you're participating in actual championship. But looking forward to racing with ya on saturday.

So when's the next season?
Unfutunatley, i will not be able to get gt6 until a couple months because I have a little crisis, so will you please email me some results and replays because I can't attend, but I would love to stay tuned please Jawehawk.
Everyone on this post, please add me to psn: labib597
Jawehawk, would you please email me some results at: labibmamun@gmail.com
Thank you very much, and i shall be very grateful and hopefully tune in... well, in a while i guess,
I LOVE these kinds of posts!!

The next championship will probably be up and running one month after this one has ended. However, it will most likely feature completely different cars, as I like to keep things fresh and varied. I'll keep you posted.
