If I had 2,000 dollars to blow..It would be in my bedroom.

First Time I have seen this game on ebay in arcade form..👍

Funny, I've never actually seen the original, even in arcades. I've heard that it plays nearly identical to Tokyo Xtreme Racer, though. Isn't that cheaper? :P

Personally I'd pick up a Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune [2?] cabinet instead. It's the newer version, I believe. Music is ace and the driving's pretty good (for those who like the drifty style) ^^ And it has a 6-speed shifter too.

(now all I have to do is figure out how to run GT4 on an arcade cabinet XD)

Maximum Tune 3 Announced!!

Among other features:
- Better Graphics
- New Cars + Routes
- Seems to be the TXR system of being able to choose the path (which route to take) during the race if you're leading...
- Something about parts and vinyls for setting machine records?
- Maximum raised to 820 HP
- 100 stage story mode now. @_@

I'm just not keeping up with the times. Barely finished Cycle 2 (1-40) in WMMT, only got up to about Stage 30 in WMMT2...maybe Namco should slow down a bit XD

I have two Maximum Tune cards, and well.. I hate that game.

It's like TXR but craptastic. The physics are strange and the cabinet feels weak. Especially the shifter.

I hate the Initial D game.
It's just crap, the physics are garbage.

I hate all arcade racers except two.

355 Challenge
and
Super GT.

Nice. I've been waiting to hear confirmation of MT3.

TXR but craptastic? Have you played a TXR game? ;)

The physics are a bit strange, but fun. They make a helluva lot more sense than pretty much any arcade racing game I've played.

And you say the Maximum Tune physics are strange... 355 is a fun yet very flawed pseudo-sim that only appears to be realistic if you stay well, well within the limits of traction, and Super GT is like a slightly goofy (but still quite fun) re-tooling of Daytona USA.

I don't know about you, but Maximum Tune feels much more natural than either of those games.

Hey now! TXR 2 and Zero were awesome street racing games, still some of the best out there for the consoles. All of the other games in the series are the ones that suck.

I'm inclined to agree (barring the usual arguments about F355 Challenge), but I would still prefer a home port of Sega Super GT over Maximum Tune.

Virtua Racing?

Are you SERIOUS?

God, I haven't played that since I had my Saturn... man, good times.

The first game with some form of career progression if I recall correctly. Start out in a kart, finish up in an F1. Awesome game.
