From what I have seen in the previews it really doesnt look that good. Heather wants to see it so we will probably check it out some time.

Another movie I want to see. Just not badly enough to go to the theatre.
Got a long list of movies that I'm waiting to come to the $5-9 rack at wal-mart.

Is this movie based off of a comic book or some superheros?? I just dont understand all of the exaggerated stunts in this movie. What am I missing about the plot that I cant see in those commercials?

Someone thought it time to play Matrix again.
They just wrote a different story to go around the stunts.

It actually seems like The Destroyer meets The Matrix.
Add Morgan Freeman as "Chuin" and super MILF as "Remo"

This is one that I will pick up on DVD, when it comes out on Blu-Ray. Yes, I wrote that right.

The story is actually based on a Graphic Novel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanted_(comics)

Gil, that is the one movie that should have had a sequel, but never did. Darkman got 2 sequels and it wasn't half the movie that Remo was.

Ok now that cleared up all the confusion. I figured this had to be designed after a comic book or novel. Thats actually good news and I am a little more excited about seeing his now. 👍

I quite agree, There are about a gazillion Destroyer paperbacks in print.
And Remo Williams, The Adventure begins is pretty close to the book, as my memory serves.
And there is no character as plain cool as Chuin.

looks stupid. "i want you to curve the bullet? total BS. a movie i'd sit there and go "yeah right", and Okay buddy the whole movie. I find that my knowledge of firearms really ruins a lot of movies for me.

I read a whole bunch of Remo paperbacks (wouldn't go as far as calling them books) back in my youth!... Is the movie worth watching if I should stumble upon it ?...

By today's standards it might be considered a bit "cheesy" but it is a pretty good movie.
Hell, it's likely to be on the cheap movie rack at "Best Buy".
Definitely in the "👍" Pile.

Wow I have to say that I was surprised how good this movie was. It reminded me of the Matrix in a lot of ways but it really was a good movie. Much better then I ever expected it would be. I will buy this in Blu-ray for sure when it comes out. Worth seeing in the theaters for sure. 👍

I know very little about fire arms, but i DO know that guns have rifled barrels that spin the bullet. No amount of swerving your hand is going to make a bullet curve!

If you dont go in with an open mind and and imagination, you wont enjoy this movie. As I said above in post #12, its a lot like the Matrix so many things will happen that are not realistic. But they sure are fun to watch.

Damn... are all the Destroyer fanboys coming out of the woodwork? I watched the movie just a few years ago (rented it) simply because I loved the novels... I agree, by modern standards, it is quite cheesy, but the character of Chiun does shine through.

Though they got absolutely everything wrong... short hair? No beard? Dressed like a mere Chinaman? Chium would be appalled! (And he was, as he wrote in one Destroyer special released a year or three after the film... ).

A modern remake of "The Destroyer" movie would be awesome.

I'm surprised at how positive the reviews are... maybe this'll bump "Wanted" from my maybe see list to "must" see.

I saw it this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be the stupidest turd of the summer, but it was ultra-violent, the characters and acting were good, including Angelina, who I absolutely cannot stand, and the humour was funny and subtle at the same time. Morgan Freeman was refreshing; he plays a part which is unusual for an actor of his caliber here, and it's good to see he isn't above certain movies like this one, which are just plain fun.

As for the bending/curving bullets thing, it's a secret order of assassins and only a select few people on the planet apparently have the ability to do this. It's akin to a superhero ability in this movie, if you take the assassins (called The Fraternity) to be superheroes of a sort. If you question the bullet bending, it's like questioning Superman flying or the Hulk using a police car to spar with The Abomination. Other than shooting bullets from across a city and around buildings and stuff, the assassins can flip around, run extremely fast, jump from building to building, flip their cars and shoot people whilst doing it, etc. etc. etc.

So yeah, if bending bullets makes you scoff, you ain't gonna like this one.

Well said. 👍

Yeah, I was sort ot thinking of it as a cartoon, with real people in it.

As for Morgan Freeman taking on "fun" roles: remember he was God in Bruce Almighty He was brill8iant and funny in that role.

Wanted is still on my "I'll wait for it to hit the video rack" list.
It has to be pretty epic for me to go to the theatre.
Especially, when I can get it as a video, watch it in my pajamas on the big screen TV, with the ability to pause and hit the bathroom or the kitchen whenever I want.:D

I dunno... I've been hearing people say it's like the Matrix and I feel like it's an insult to the Matrix (based off the previews). I mean I enjoyed the Matrix, but this seems like a typical Jolie bull crap "make everything look good for her" movie. Then again maybe it's just my growing distaste for this [censored].

Jolie, while in many scenes, is hardly the focus or the point of the movie, and actually her character is surprisingly unique, especially towards the end of the movie.

Plus you get to see her badonkadonk.

not bad but please is there any movie without morgan freeman?
and new young hollywood actors how lucky they are. they are finding the chance kissing angelina jolie :)
