Dev server is open I think if anyone wants to see what is coming in the next update.

Can't wait for U.S Tanks. The tow cable is a very nice welcome feature. And I want to know what the new shells for the IS-1 are like.

Interested to see how the tow hook will work. Maybe it will be useful for those times when the team bumrushes out of the base, and down the hill and causes half the team to get flipped over.

Then again, I haven't touched ground units in over a month or so. Been 100% in German planes. Not sure if it's good or bad that I've stuck to one instead of spread the playing time to other nations.

I've picked War Thunder up again. Yay :D World of Warcraft has gone as fast as it came, so I've got the time for some good, old fashioned aviation again :D

Gotta say, the two things I'm looking forward to in 1.45 are the supposed cannon fixes and the changes to the BR system (which doesn't necessarily release with 1.45, but still).

/edit:
Just unlocked the Spitfire Mk. XIVe. My reaction:

It's so beautiful!

Starting the module grind in AB right now. Shot down two guys in my first outing with it - not too bad, imho. And six kills im my second outing, still completely stock. The handling is great as well! I... I think I'm in love.

Don't tell my girlfriend I said that. Please?!

I finished off a match last night by intentionally flying into a Catalina with my Stuka. Was in dogfight with it, and since the guns on the Stuka aren't very great, and my aiming sucks mostly, I was having trouble. Then one gun jammed, the Catalina set me on fire, and since it was the last opposing plane left, I flew into it to take it out. At one point, I even tried to drop a bomb on the Catalina.

Wouldn't have done that if the MC 202 on my team that was still in the game wasn't parked on the runway 20km away.

@GTPorsche, that was a very honorabru thing to do, sacrificing yourself for the team 👍

I'm really looking forward to getting some upgrades for my new Spitfire so I can comfortably take it into RB.

Decided to go back to arcade mode and go through all the biplanes to get them out of the way so I can get to the good stuff for each country.

Might be a mistake, but it's probably the best way to get through the biplanes quickly.

:indiff: Yeah.... I noticed after a few matches. I don't remember them being that low when I originally played but it wasn't worth it at all. Plus the arcade physics are not the best.

Only reason to play AB, from a reward perspective, would be to unlock upgrades, imho. It doesn't matter as much if your planes lacks upgrades and you can work on multiple planes at once. But for researching planes, RB would seem considerably better.

Had a round where I was flying back to base with about 9 minutes of fuel left. Checked scoreboard and saw there was only one enemy plane left so I started looking around for it. Spotted it but couldn't call it out since the preset message thing is buggy on PS4. Decided to take a chance and turn back for him. Caught him, and shot him down to end the round with 4 ground kills and one air kill.

Oh, one more thing I like about AB. Those German "aces" don't have the slightest clue WTF to do if they can't force you into a head-on

I wouldn't either, but I hate playing RB with stock planes.

And holy crap! The climb rate of the LF Mk. IX once it gets its fuel injection :D
I deal with it. You get higher rp rewards in RB so I just live with it.

@Team THRT Drift, personally, I'd recommend a Premium Account. Increases the rate at which you unlock stuff significantly, isn't too expensive and you don't need it once you've got a few planes.

Dropping ten to fifteen bucks (if you happen to enjoy the game) will get you started quite well, imho 👍 And that's still a lot cheaper than buying most games, so... Yeah.

Paying is mostly to avoid the grind.
I don't mind that.

Just need a good PC now.

I tried it at a cousin's house after about a year it came out and I got hooked. Then I started watching BaronvonGamez and PhlyDaily and the rest of the chaps.

@Team THRT Drift, War Thunder runs decently well on my university laptop (which is pretty crap). If you're willing to turn the settings down, it's really not a tough game to run.

Talking about YouTubers, you probably know him, but I recommend watching MagzTV. The best of the bunch, imho. A great pilot, very entertaining and far less annoying than the likes of eNtak... Plus, his voice sounds an awful lot like James May, which is nice

I started doing some German tank stuff yesterday. Now that I have a grasp of it, it's actually quite fun, not needing to worry about all three dimensions when fighting..

Edit: anyone else having trouble launching the game on PC?

Well, I hit the start in launcher, the screen closes and aces appears in the process tree but the game itself doesn't start.. :irked:

So.... Any PS4 players in here or is this a PC master race thread?

How far are you in the German Tank line?
