Entered the Africa event in SB on American tank (M4A1). I thought the Pz IV F2 will rape everyone with its KwK 40 cannon (and Germans will rule again), but no, the Shermans can bite back, too. Reminded me of the old days when I was slamming tens of Panzers in my T-34 (with F-34 cannon) in RB...
So, I one-shot down an F2, tried to capture their base, but was ambushed by two more, and it took about half a minute to dismantle me. Before taking the second tank, I got into my SBD-3 Dauntless to support the attack, and it was a good decision - a Panzer tried to take our base, but I dropped him a 1000 pound surpise (luckly, my comrades marked his position with artillery, so I could bomb in the right place, even though the trees made it difficult to see him). Returned to the airfield, landed, left the plane* and returned to the battle on my second tank, but my team finished the job already, we won. SB battles depend on players' skills rather than vehicle specs.
* - if you return your plane safely to the base in a ground SB battle and leave it, you'll be able to use it later again, after returning from a tank.
Well the balance was off IRL. The US only won Midway because of a few poor choices from Nagumo.
I know, but I thought the Japanese planes are more skill-dependent than American (that are easier to handle the guns - a few Brownings of the same caliber, just point & pull the trigger - unlike the Zeros with small 20mm capacity. Plus, the lack of speed needs you to figure something out against powerful -cats and Corsairs).
