Mouse aim is so good in the game, you'd be at a slight disadvantage in the air with a controller.

I can confirm that controlling a tank with a controller is a pain. It's difficult to move forward and turn at the same time, and with some tanks it's diffcult to traverse while not moving.
 
I owned the the original IL-2 Sturmovik for PS3 and was really good with the controller so I thought maybe I could have it work..

I would obviously intend to use a mouse still for ground forces, and still for arcade games as it continues to help mouse aim for PC games..

OOOOHHH!!!! I finally got parts for the 10.5 tiger!! And while I was looking at how much everything else is going to cost me, I noticed how the tier 1 parts for it are all 19,000, while Tier 2 is 13,000... How many other tanks/planes have a lower tier 2 cost for modifications than tier 1? I think this is backwards to be honest.
 
I've noticed the modules are based on how many are on each tier, so if tier 2 has more than tier 1, as it usually does, it'll be cheaper. I've noticed some where the last tier is cheaper than tier 3 modules.
 
Possibly silly question: Can I use my PC account login for the PS4 WT? That would save me from ridiculous grind..
 
Oh well.. Grind is the name of game these days anyways.. But I do enjoy the low tier ( I-III) battles far more than the ones at IV-V..

yup, those are the best. Trying to kill the Tiger E is super scary. While us Germans just laugh when a little t34 tries to pen through us.
 
lol... I love the Tiger E and H 1 so much I put it in my Tier V lineup just because that's what a Tiger should truly look like.

I might just do a few Tier III games tonight. But seriously, a KV2 freaks yall out? It's super inaccurate and takes ages to reload. The turret ring is a guaranteed shot.

One time in realistic battles I was in an M22, speeding around, when all of the sudden I rounded a corner and saw one of our Sherman's (M4A1) jammed on top of a KV-2. I ran around shooting him everywhere, but it was doing nothing (obviously...37mm no good on that lol), then my driver got knocked out by something and I helpless watched that big gun get pointed at me...and then I had no more M22. :scared:

German tanks always scare me though...at least the Stug's don't have turrets. :p

I got out my Marder a few weeks ago and had an absolute blast in it. I forgot how much I loved it. That frickin massive gun on what, a Pz II chassis that can whip around any corner?

I remember in some battle at Poland in the city, I was going down one street and looked down the crossing street. Saw an enemy tank go the other way, so at the next crossing street I turned to look down, no one there. Went back to the middle street and met up at the same time. Of course, he was a little M2a4 and got absolutely wrecked.

Had you said about a month or two ago I would have said that was me. :p Those Marder's are frightening...okay what isn't frightening in a pre-50's/60's American tank? :scared:
 
Damn. Setting up controls for this game on PS4 is a major pain in the ass. :irked: :mad: And on main menu, it doesn't seem to want to react to other buttons than square and triangle. :ouch:
 
The PO2 race event is fun. Especially as this time the rear gun is active.

Just get into first and shoot anyone that threatens you.
 
Whilst the gun works on the Po2 race, it is manual control only so shooting it can make you miss checkpoints if you aren't careful.

If only the menu was only issue. Guns seem to jam instantly and say they're out of ammo, and some of the custom control settings seem to revert back to default. :irked: Ugh.. until that is settled, this is unplayable.
 
I've never had any issues with controls defaulting. It is best to wipe the entire control mapping out and start fresh. That way there's no conflicting controls or it trying to revert anything.
 
Haven't played WT for over a month, but now the Haloween sale tempted me to buy a pack with Pz II H (Luchs hull with 50mm gun in open turret) and the Romanian Bf.109G-2 (just a premium version of the normal Gustav-2, but I still didn't have any tier 3 German planes) that I wanted so bad, with 50% discount. It also included a 15-day premium account, which means WT is going to enslave me again, for two weeks at least! :banghead:

What's been there too is 1500 of Gold Eagles, and I'm not yet sure what to spend them on. I thought I could pick the "Cobra King" M4A3E2 Sherman Jumbo (it's tier 3 and could greatly help me to move in the American tanks tree), but not only it's completely indifferent from the non-premium Jumbo (that I don't have yet but will get sometime), but its 75mm cannon just sucks.

The better option seems to be the Soviet M4A2 (76), the long-barreled Sherman. However, I already have a T-34-57 (1943), another Soviet premium of the same tier (3) and battle rating (5.0). Aaaand... I just checked the official Russian forum of WT, and the guys advise against buying it.

So, I have 1667 eagles and one day to decide what to spend them on, until the 50% discounts are active. Do you guys have any ideas for me? I also consider an American Friedrich (Bf.109F-4), or a BTD-1...

P.S. The two Germans I just got are good, I don't regret buying them. First RB flight on the Romanian Gustav against US+Brits - 1 kill, 1 assist, survived to the end.

Well I haven't played in awhile but what about the premium Pz. IV (you know the one with the side skirts)? Or the Rocket Sherman? That's the two I can really think of off the top of my head.

The rocket Sherman is too expensive, over 3k gold.

I thought about the Pz.Bfw.IV, too, it's cheap, but the Pz.IV H that I have is almost not different... I'd prefer something unique.

The T-35 may be a bit expensive and useless, but it's damn beautiful. I'll see the reviews and if it's fun to play, I'll possibly go with it...
