That's amazing, I actually believe the car stopping test for this reason, metal slides on concrete. So I believe that it's probably one hell of a sweet modification. Yeah, it's kinda sad they used a new mini for it, but it's still cool.

Honda has spent millions on ASIMO and it can just about stand, walk, climb stairs and dance and it's only about 4ft tall. Yet this "mad professor" in Oxford, working himself, has managed to create a massive robot that can stop a Land Rover while its feet are sliding along the floor and it doesn't fall over?
It's well done, but it's not real.
Exactly as LoudMusic puts it.Originally posted by toyomatt84
How does the ASIMO pertain to changing a Mini into a robot?

I believe the Honda referance was to say that a team of Japenese engineers have spent a great deal of time on a 4' tall robot that doesn't do much.
Thank you kind sir. My grammar really is dispicable compared to most of the posts here.Originally posted by toyomatt84

As well as, there is a buyable model from Sony called the Qrio. Yeah, they're both robots, but one is made from a car!

Your grammar has not been edited, leading me to point out:
"As well as, there" - as well as what?
"PS." - postscript. Abbreviation is P.S.

Why, when you look at the guys personal website, does he not mention that he has built this marvellous robot? Surely that would be something he would want to tell everyone.

This question still stands
There is also this. Watch the video again of the Land Rover being stopped. Watch it frame by frame. The front of the Landie goes down before it hits the robot's hand which means it is being braked by the driver. If the robot is stopping it, then why does the front of the Landie go down at all?
Is the grammar OK for you?

I'm so surprised that you people can't see that the robot is CG.
Toyomatt, maybe if you payed more attention to the vids rather then editing other peoples posts you might see that.

Please go type in my statement including the "as well as" in Word. Then come back and tell me how wrong it is.

Gladly. The statement has no subject. "As well as this,", or "As well as that," would be acceptable, but "As well as," is syntactically incorrect.

Well, since it came out without an error on my Microsoft Word, I don't really give a hoot. Have a good one.
