maybe it should be said that the vette it the best bang for the buck sports car in the us. because here there isnt much of anything that can touch a z06 for the price. the closest is the viper and its $30000 more. im sure theres pelnty of cars that are close in europe, but since we cant get then here it dosnt matter to us. i know if you get an american car anywhere other than america you will pay a ton for it. it also goes both ways. if any of those cars came here whe would pay a boatload for them too. so the cars that are cheaper than a $80000 vette in youre country if they came here they would be $30000-$40000 more than it here. and whre was the guy that said he could get a now vette for 45K at the most and a used 04 z06 for 26K? if there is such a place im moving. im just trying to put everything into perspective. it seems like people are arguing over this and not realising where everybody is at or they dont realise how car pricing works overseas. anything american will cost more and probally a lot more if you buy it in another country, its just that way it is.

and they guy who said they would take a 75K NSX over a 52K z06 is on crack. id take a Z06 over just about anything any day. is i could only afford one.

anyone remember smokey and the bandit? a pertinint quote from that movie.

" it depends on exactly where youre standing in the country as to how dumb you are"

and the oppisite is also true. small adgile cars dont tent to deal with the US's large highways running hundreds of miles between cities.
please excuse the spelling, its not my strong suit.

Very true, as the US and Europe are very different markets.

However manufacturers from both markets have been adapting to this for many years.

The new C6 is a very good example, as it is now roughly the same size as a 911. Its only 8mm longer and 25mm wider (but 64mm lower) than the current 911 (997).

You also have to remember that the lack of right-hand drive is only a problem in the UK, and with the smaller size (over previous Corvette's) its got a good chance of doing well in Europe.

Going in the opposite direction is the 'Federal' Lotus Elise, proving that not all American roads are big and wide (as far to many of us in Europe sometimes believe) and that those in the US appreciate an excellently balanced, fine handling lightweight sport car just as much as Europeans do.

Very well said. It's refreshing to see posts like this. 👍
