This weeks T times leaderboard will be VERY deceiving as the third section of this track is crucial to your overall time.

13.181 / 50.330 and I might be done with this one. Only a tenth or 2 left in it for me.

I'll put the leaderboard up tomorrow when a few more people post.

Good luck everyone!

EDIT- Oops, forgot there was 2 cars to pick from. I'll try the Castrol before I submit. :D

EDIT #2- I ran the Castrol and I prefer the Arta. They are both really close.
I ran the Arta again after the Castrol and shaved .050 off my overall time.
Splits were: 13.157 / 50.015
I still see a couple tenths I'm leaving, but I don't think I can gather them all up in a single lap. I also ran a 49.843 T2, but slowed too much in the last 2 turns.

I would really like to join this competition. Please help me sign up. Ill look around myself.

Edit: Found the main thread, no help needed :D, you'll be seeing me soon on the tracks. Also is this for controller users only?

Welcome to the WRS, E30. :) No rules about the controllers. You can race with a dance-mat, if you want to.

Nice times tuff and jadaman. 👍

I'm messing around with T2's at 52.5xx in both the cars.

Just the other day I did the Tokyo enduro, with the unmoded Raybrig NSX. The first laps were fun, hanging with the AIs, but then I built up a gap of 30secs or so to have a comfortable cushin for pitting. With stock parts and custom settings I acieved a low 1:36.4xxx dunno how that racks up. Also it may not be legit for this challenge as the settings were not stock.

I still have to register with the arcade lap time, but im at college right now and cant do it. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFlipping bleh, cant come up with a clever analogy :D.

I wish this test was with the stock NSX S zero. I've taken quite a liking to this car, and thats very odd since im not a Japanese car fan. Whats the best time so far.

Welcome to the races E30 Evo Sport,

First off, Look at this post

That should help quite a bit. :D

Take note... 👍
1. The race setup.
Use the Arcade S-class cars specified in the arcade mode free run.
2. Time discussion.
Keep time discussion limited to the "T" times you see in mid lap. Also, please don't discuss final lap times until the deadline for the race is over.

Other than that, Have fun :D

Also, please try to do the qualifier before this week is over... submitting without doing the qualifier means you will included in an "unofficial" section of the results.
Yeah, silly I know, but this is how it has worked for a long time.
:D

T1 13.852
T2 52.332
For now with the arta.

Hello and welcome to the WRS E30 Evo Sport!

The simulation cars are generally faster than the arcade cars because you can tune the simulation car's suspension to the track and your driving style.

Therefor it's not really fair to compare any simulation car time with an arcade car time. I suggest you grab a Arcade, S Class NSX and give it a try. You can post any of your T times to compare to the others how you are doing. This week will be tough as the last T time is about only half of the lap. There is a lot of time to be won or lost after T2.

Good luck and glad to have another racer. 👍

Better get my splits updated before, tuff gets his leaderboard up. Thanks again, tuff. Excellent service. 👍

13.787
51.715

In the Arta.

I will be racing against Tannis on this combo 👍 good luck mate ... not that you need it .... so the luck is better with me :D

Laters.

This race seems like fun considering that there will be no school(yes i'm still in high school :()on Thursday and Friday I can practice till my hearts content

I ran the Arcade NSX Type S at Tokyo to see what it would do.
Best clean lap: 15.999 / 1'01.421 / 1'51.979
first 2 sectors aren't very good (I've been .5 faster), but the last sector made up for them. Fastest lap was a 1'51.712 with a tiny wall touch in the 2nd to last turn. :grumpy:

If someone is curious how well they are doing in the race cars, try the Arcade Type S street car and compare it to my times. That will give you a clue if you are in the ballpark or not. I'm sure Tannis and MrP are faster, but at least it will get you pointed in the right direction.

Leaderboard is up. (Last link in my signature)

thanks niels and still a week to go... :) :) :)

This weeks looks interesting... never raced on Tokyo R246...

Looks like I'll have to learn, then try to go fast (enough)...

EDIT

Man only two T's for the lap??? That a long last section...

T1 - 13.515
T2 - 51.846

Still learning track and what I can, and more importantly, can't do...

i guess im gonna give this a try since its been a while, any advice with the steering wheel, i am still better with the controller,

later

jeff

Only able to get in about 25 laps combined with each car. My times are in.

T1: 13.818
T2: 53.768

Not great, but it will have to do since I'll be out of town for the weekend.

Been doing a little improving... Best ATM is a clean

T1 - 13.646 (Best 13.315 which I drove into the next corner chicane...)
T2 - 51.232 (Best 50.8xx which had touch on first corner, and average last two)

Still lots there. Be good to see what the guns end up doing...

EDIT: Just ruined a 50.657... aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Swapped cars and hit the wall on the double right just after T2, that's not unusual but the 50.480 was... :(

Is it me or has anyone else noticed that the Arta seems to be a little faster but not as good through corners than the Castrol?
Chris

This challenge is tough Sector 3 is the deciding factor in this race the corner at the beggining of T3 and the corner at the end are the hardest to get down correctly.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I just got this game to keep me occupied until GT4, which is the only reason I just purchased a PS2 a few days ago.

Using controller (I have a wheel too but not using yet) with the Arta NSX, T1: 13.607 and T2: 50.4xx , I'm not sure about T2 if someone could tell me where to find it that would be great. The analyzer breaks up the lap in many sectors, and i think the ending points are not the same either so i cant add them up with a claculator or something.

Lol this arcade setup is much better than the one on my raybrig NSX which i used at Tokyo Enduro. This kind of setup could have saved me almost 20 mins or boring racing, and extensive trauma to my thumbs :D. Tnx for any help.

E30 Evo Sport: T2 is before quick double right, you'll see it in the replay...

As for me, I think it's hard slog from now on for quicker times after my latest T's...

T1 - 13.470
T2 - 50.370

More importantly it was a whole 0.8-0.9 secs quicker overall.

I've seen quicker T1's but haven't held one yet, or finished the lap satisfactory... I've seen a lot slower T2's get close to my quickest, so there's still some in the last sector...

I've found the ARTA to be more stable at high speed...

Tannis
13.181
49.6xx
Castrol.

I had a few laps earlier but already behind :dopey:

13.3 / 49.8 ... have only been under 13.3 one time and it was 13.289 :dunce:

Castrol also 👍

New times with the Castrol
T1-13.582 (saw a 13.2 once but never again)
T2-50.353 (saw a 50.2 but it was on a dirty lap)
I can go alot faster in T3 because I cornered saftely for one of the corners. Also the wierdest thing happend.I was timeattacking like normal then I realized that I had two laps with exactly the same times, one dirty and one clean is that rare or what.I'll take a pic of it if I can find someone with a camera phone.
