i edited my post above,

i will also post my rx7 mods

RX7 RZ
Turbo stage 2
Racing chip
Racing Suspension
Racing Gearbox
Brakes
Carbon Driveshaft
R Flywheel
Triple Clutch
(416 hp, 1270kg)
Once the car is broken in i might swap around a few performance parts and even see if weight reduction 1 is worth it, however you cant take off weight reduction once its done so i will wait until broken in before i experiment with that.

I just tried the RX7 RS to see if there was any difference. Not that I could tell.
Best clean lap so far for me is in the RX7 RS:
15.016
43.407
1'05.074 (blew the t2 to t3 section  )

Still faster over all than any other lap I've done.

Might as well post meh car mods as well -

Mazda RX-7 Type RZ
Racing suspension
Brakes
Stage 1 intake/exhaust
Racing Chip
Stage 1 Turbo
Racing Intercooler
Triple Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Carbon Driveshaft
Custom Race Tranny
Custom LSD
Weight Reduction Stage 1

Power of 393 HP, weight of 1173 kg (I think) and a power to weight of 3.005 (its broken in)

Car is a bit on the lose side to deal with any understeer, makes for fun 👍

I dropped the stabs to MIN and she took off!
1’03.083 EDIT: 183 my bad

Damn, pwr 3.048 @475hp and I'm not close to peak power yet :nervous:

I can bring down the HP by swapping the exhaust for the chip, so it looks like I’ll be ok.

dam thats quick

well my rx7 is pushing 420hp now and i just churned out this time

T1: 15.042
T2: 43.272
T3: 1:04.181

Total lap time is up .5 on my last update which had T3 of 1:04.358

Can you T3's with 1:03 post your other T times please, i want to know where im going wrong. I do belive i could make up another .6 or so by T3, i hope

It seems my suspicions have been confirmed, the Z06 does appear to be one of the fastest cars this week. Here's what I'm running right now.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Full Racing Suspension
Brakes
NA Tune 1
Triple Plate Clutch
Racing Flywheel
Racing Transmission
Lightweight 1

And with those mods I have around 2,000cr remaining, and I've got a pwr ratio of 3.004! I just need to be careful not to save my game (just replay and settings). I'm working out some understeer issues, and am right now sitting in the 1'05 area. More time to come off soon.

Wow! A lot of action around here this week :D

I've only had time to test out two cars, the Mustang and the RX-7. The RX-7 is just such a blast to drive, especially at such a killer track!! :trouble: The Mustang has potential, but I need better settings. It beats the RX-7 on the straights, but handles like a brick ...

Leaderboard Updated

The Mustang has the least amount of downforce when comparing and it isn't very light either, but it has some extra grip! I like the Camaro Z28 over the SS. . . they can’t hang with the SVT tho

These are the splits from my best @3.047
14.706-42.573-1’03.191

SVT sets @476 hp. Replaced exhaust with chip this time.

Thinking about the RZ or RS almost got me switching ride, but when I see you´re all going for it, I`ll stick with my TK-ZZS.

Racing susp and box, weight modify and a flywheel.

I just love this car, but its pwr is 3.100 or something close. Will this go below Kents restrictions?Hope not

Congrats to the 1.03 posse :)

Thanks for the open discussion of suitable cars. 👍

I have chosen the RX-7 and are now at:

15.401
43.857
1'04.930

Well now that the cats out of the bag i'm also using the Rx-7 (it was my first choice) Although now that I see everyone else using it I might change to a car no one will use (Maybe the clio :sly: )...Also time update from me. 1'03.5. Another car that I tried out is the Mustang SVT I ran 1'04.1 with it. Won't post my mods cause I at least want those to be secret.

Since we're sharing cars, I was using the Supra RZ for my
0'15.942
0'45.505
1'07.653

I know my T3 line is completely wrong, I'm sure once I get it I can hit 1:06

The RX-7 was next on my list to test, but I decided to get some sleep.
I've always hated the Vette but I may give it a go tonight.

This the first race i'm participating in, so excuse me if i'm being retarded...

I see a lot of people are stressing over the power-to-weight ratio restriction. I thought that restriction had been removed.... Am I missing something?

When Kent first posted it, he said weight reductions were not allowed, then he said they are allowed.

Power to Weight Ratio still remains though.

The car I started with is the Grand Sport. I won't be using that one, it's obviously one of the fastest options.
My splits in the GS: 14.758 - 42.431 - 1'02.693

An other nice choice is the R34 Skyline. Drives really sweet, only lacks the power of the Vette: 15.023 - 43.000 - 1'03.636

I think I'm going for the Z28. It has the potential, but it's hard to drive and to set up and it's a bit slower than the Vette's and (according to Jake) the Mustang. So far: 15.078 - 42.909 - 1'03.501

I'm going to try the Mustang too, as well as the Supra and the 300ZX. But I think the last 2 have too little grip to be competitive

I gave the R34 a try but I need to do a new setup as I had too much power and not enough control. My times were high even for a Div 3 driver.

Well guys,
I'm still scooting along in my Z06. :(

Even with the car in great shape I am falling behind.

The car is a pleasure though.

On that note:

I am happy to see that many of you are playing around with different cars.
At first in the week I was worried that the RX7 was going to walk away with this race easily.

Now that Hugo is here posting skyline runs on the tail of my Z06. :scared:
Maybe it will not be the one car race I thought!

Still though, I don't want to put stress on any of you to race with a car other than what you feel best with.
The point of my comments regarding car selection was not to shy people away from fast cars... The point was to encourage all of you to race with what you felt best in.

Sometimes in races like this we get pushed out of using our car of choice just because we want to keep up, I understand that. :D
I also understand that winning feels great.

So please everyone!
Use the car you feel best with.

Fastest
Slowest
Whatever!

Just try and have some fun.

Touge Master
Although now that I see everyone else using it I might change to a car no one will use (Maybe the clio :sly: )
Yer, I got my eye on that but for some reason something tells me it’s going to disappoint.
The Mustang was my 3rd selection because it was really cheap considering 👍
There aren’t many contenders because you need to use a stage 3 or 4 upgrade to compete and that will place you well over the budget!

Tried the Mustang without any weight reduction at 538hp and managed to get the same time as the lighter car. The splits were off but my final lap was close.

I really do like the inexpensive Z28 :)

Woohoo! 500th Post!

Glad it happened in the WRS thread where I seem to post most!
Better make it a good one then!

Since no-one seems to feel like keeping cars secret anymore, my first posted splits were after 3 laps in the Mustang SVT, my 1st choice. I had then shortlisted these other cars, which I've since tried out.
Toyota Sprinter Trueno APEX
Toyota Supra SZ-R :yuck:
Renault Clio Sport V6 :indiff:
TVR Griffith 500 :)
TommyKaira ZZ-S 👎
Mazda Miata '91 :dopey:
Chevy Camaro SS 👍
Mazda RX-7 RZ 👍
Mazda RX-7 Infini :indiff:
Nissan Silvia Spec-R Aero :sly:
Audi S4 :yuck:
Nissan 300ZX :ouch:
Dodge Viper GTS :odd:

Not sure whether to stick with the Mustang, the RX-7 RZ (which I've broken into the 1'04 T3s with easily) or the Camaro SS.
I still tempted to go with the Silvia as it handles well, but hasn't got the grunt to keep up with the Mustang.
I'm also tempted after racing the Jag XJ220 Racecar and Lister Racecar in my 2 most recent races, to stick with a Brit, so a TVR time might be forthcoming soon!

Too many decisions! :scared:

Did anyone else try the Z28 yet. That cars fantastic. It's unmatchable in the straights and decent in the corners. My fastest T3 with this beast is 1'3.8 with better setting a 1'03.3 is possible maybe even a 1'03.0 is possible if I get real lucky. Racing this car and still keeping up with the competition is reason enough to keep racing this race. I give it 4.25/5

I got bored, and decided to see how some odd picks would do...

Civic Type R - 1'09.1xx

And... get this... the Fiat Coupe. Why... its fairly torquey. However, it doesn't upgrade much at all really, power wise. Managed a 1'09.4xx

Still, I'm gonna have to stick with my first choice... the RX-7. I picked that thing right off the bat, cause I had seen its performance when I tested it at some point. And I like how it drives, alot.

how many KM does the car have to do to be run in?

RX7 RZ (423hp 1270kg p/w 3.002, 178km)

T1: 15.047
T2: 42.959
T3: 1:03.681

300km I believe...

And you're faster than me now.. damnit

I saw some times of 43.0xx on mine... at the T2, but on dirty runs :(

damn, how much power does the rx7 increase, i started with 416 and now im at 423, if it goes any higher i will have to re arrange power and weight :(

I had to do that to the Mustang to keep it from dropping below 3.0. I’d rather not save & play if I can help it. In Fact, I made it under 1’03 to learn my pwr was 2.997 when I checked after the lap. The SVT cannot exceed 482hp with stage 2 lightning.

I did test the Clio and was quite surprised! I have to double check to see if I went over the budget @403hp with a 1’04.1 T3.

Mr. Trueno is total crap! @ 309hp/ 925 kg. 1’07.033 was the best I could do. The Mustang is just badass to control and it sounds much cooler now without the exhaust. . with, it sort of sounds like the GTONE

The RX-7 was one of the first cars I used to conquer gt3 in the beginning. .excellent performances for the cost.
These low buget American cars can get you some swift times if ya don’t have much in your account. The Z28 is the best deal of them all!

The Grand Sport is significantly faster than the Z28, even though it's more expensive ;) . Could be that my driving style suits that car most, but the GS and the R34 are the cars I like driving most.

I expected the Clio to be fast too, but it disappointed. It ain't slow until T3, but loses a lot to the finish. And the handling is too tricky on this track. This car will be more fun in GT4 :sly:

well ive just come up with 2 different rx7 types and once run in both will be a p/w of around 3.005. One is stage 1 weight reduction and other is without it. i will post them later on

Hugo check ya PM's 👍
