Yeah the non Gr1 variant of the Mazda LM55 is amazing. Just a simple tune needed to help on the initial turn in (if you prefer your car to be 'pointy') traction is great, as is the fuel usage and tyre life.

Yeah the 908 works well here, I did a one stop pitting on lap 6 for fuel and tyres, did FM6 and RM tyres all race long.

Really liked that setup, thanks very much! Feels much more stable under acceleration to me and has a better turn-in compared to the default.

Unfortunately I got yeeted into the T1 inside wall by one of the cars in the 2nd/3rd/4th gaggle on my first attempt, but the second one went much smoother.

I was able to run in the 1:31s consistently, even as the tyres dropped off a bit on lap 5 & 6, then took on some Softs and a bit more fuel so I could go to FM1 and have a proper go at fastest lap on lap 9. Turns out I was cutting it a bit fine, had to go back to FM6 and lift & coast + short shift heavily just to make it to the end. Arrived at 0 % and pretty happy with the effort.

If my experience in the WTC 900 race is anything to go by, I believe you can still achieve this in the Peugeot without the Fuel Map and with just short shifting. Will test it out later (Assuming this rain stops messing with my internet).

Just by looking at the massive amounts of torque this thing has, it will mostly just need mega short shifting, let us know how it goes later!

I finally got the chance to do the weekly challenge
I started at Daytona with the 908 and the 1st 3 laps were horrible I spun out a couple of times got track limit penalty. It got better I worked way up to 14 by lap 5 but I spun out again. It wasn't my tune it was me I was coming out of turns mashing the gas too soon it caused the spin outs. So I decided to go with my go to for this race the Bugatti VGT Gr.1. Did much better and I got to 2nd by lap 7 and I decided to pit on lap 8 instead waiting until lap 9. My thinking was it would give me 2 laps to catch P1. The good idea but when I came out of the pits I got pit lane violation which slowed me down for 3 seconds. So I finished in 2nd by 0.183 seconds! If I didn't get the pit lane violation I would have won.

Next I took the Escudo to Alsace. Bad decision for me. I hate that track and the turbo lag and bad driving caused me to finish in 6th. So I decided to use the Bulvari VGT came in 3rd

Next I decided to use another VGT the Aston Martin VGT at 600 pp race. I actually won that race

Next took my tricked out Kangoo to Brands Hatch for a quick win

Finally I took a stock 2020 Supra to Tokyo. I like this layout for the track pretty fun

Got a stage 5 weight reduction for 17 AMG GTR and a Jaguar SV roadster VGT which I sold for 500K cr.

I will pretend that the last race in the upcoming challenges does not exist...

Everything else looks like great fun. I'm looking forward to tuning the Vantage. And I'm ALWAYS glad to see a Historic Sports Car Masters Race. Watch out for all the Lamborghinis in that race - they're on Comfort Tires, and will do around 190mph / 305kph down the big straightaway. It also rains sometimes.

@Moose78 It's always great to see someone driving the big old AMG!

I'll have to double-check to see if I've done all the other races for this next week, but either way, that Vantage one-make sounds fun. I already had bought one, but I may end up buying another to modify, as I'm very curious as to what sort of aesthetic options in GT Auto are available.
Well with the parts available, you either can recreate this (Sans the mirrors):

I'm ready to go for the next set of races with some of my go-to-cars so I don't think it'll be a struggle tomorrow. Most of the cars aren't stock anymore ( ok, the Ford and the Aston are basically ) but within the suggested PP range at least.

I'm going with @Moose78 this time and will just post some photos from the past week to show I've done them all. Most of the challenges were going fine, Alsace and Daytona were great. Ran Daytona with various cars the past days but I still have to hop into that 908 - must be something very special.
The Nürburgring GP race was crap. I only came second with the NSX '17 but nothing could have made me try this again.
Well, didn't matter - 5 boxes checked.

Oh, how I love that LM55 ... 🖤

will be using the Zonda R '09/Bugatti VGT GR1 for 800pp, skyline 2000GT-R (KPGC110) '73 for the historic car masters, a raptor for the truck race, a xj220'92 for the euro race and the vantage '18 for the one make

I did all the races on my three accounts. I wasn't happy having to do Daytona multiple times, but I got it done. Here are the highlights.

I had never driven the Crown Safety Car till this week. A very basic setup along with detuning to 500pp made it easy.

I love the Kangoo. 450pp was too much for this race, but it sure was fun.

I also had not driven the Gr.4 GT-R in a looong time because I could not find a tune that I liked. Something happened to the stock setup with one of the updates because it drives like a dream now. All I did was add a turbo and RM tires.

German car. German track. Very uneventful once I passed that darn Lambo.

I did Daytona in both of the LM-55 versions. The VGT was faster and had better fuel economy, while the Gr.1 handled better IMO.

After clearing all three on my main account, and getting a million credits from the roulette wheel, I found out that there is not a $100 million credit cap. I've got 1.1 something in the bank!

Well darn.

There is a 100,000,000cr cap... on "free" (earned) credits. You can also own as many "paid" (bought and preorder bonus) credits as you like

Probably up to a combined 2,147,483,647cr.

Does that mean earned from races, time trials, etc and not from the roulette wheel? I've not paid for any credits and got around 67 million from the wheel.

Nope, roulette wheel is earned "free" credits too. Anything you earn in the game is "free". Only credits bought from the PlayStation Store - which include those that are part of the 25th Anniversary Edition (1,000,000cr) or the pre-order bonus (100,000cr) - are "paid".

The 100,000,000cr limit applies to free credits only, so you can have 100,000,000cr of free credits plus whatever paid credits you have to any value. Free credits are also spent before paid credits; I've still got 7,700cr of "paid" left over (you can see this in your Balance Details) from one of the bonuses or other, because that's basically as far down as I've run them.

Just did Races 1,4 &5. For the 300,000GTC.

Figured I’d use my slowest tuned German touring car 180 BHP/765 kg. Worked nicely.

Was going to use the Super Silhouette to cap the Eighties rides(I know the 240 in game is the Nineties model), but decided to put the grid out of its misery with the RB25.

Pretty good week, really liked the time of day of some of the races. Brands is harder than you'd think, the Alpine is quite fast so you'll probably want to be close to the suggest PP if you're not on SH. Pickup race is fun in the dark but I wanted to just get it over with so I used my fully tuned F150. The one make race is incredibly easy even with a completely stock car, won by over 16 seconds but at least the car was a lot of fun to drive around there. Historic Sports Car Masters is always a fun race with it running into the evening, and the older cars are a ton of fun around that track. AI isn't very quick, I won at like 530 PP so there's a lot of cars you can pick - I'd assume it can rain too but it was totally dry for me. WTC 800 really depends on the weather, I had heavy rain until lap 7, then it dried pretty quick so I switched to RH and map 1 to build a gap which was easy enough as the AI stayed on worn IM. I think if you get the right weather you can win in quite a slow car, especially if the AI does some dumb stuff. Main thing I've noticed with the wet races is that they went too far the other way with the physics where it's easy for the AI to drive on wet parts of the track on slicks which I don't like. Used my swapped Integrale which isn't the best handling car but it still got the job done.

Cars for this week:
full

had a monsoon for half the race at Fuji that allowed me to go 7 laps before refueling and tire change
had some mistakes at Nürburgring even knocking a rival down to 4th by causing it to spin out.
blue moon bay was simple for an acceleration of the vantage
had to change to a backup truck for the willow springs since the main one was sliding all over the place
brands hatch was simple to do.
