Love the Historie Race at the Nordschleife. I pulled my favorite car (the one I would absolutely buy if I ever won a lottery), that being the Pantera in mid 80s GTS look.

I hadn’t driven it since the physics update and saw the PP was no longer at 580, but rather 572. So I went tuning. Adjusted to 579.98pp I went racing.

Won but the handling was off. So I then re-ran the race 5 times tuning the suspension each time. Got it to a formidable ‘Nord slayer. Well balanced, grippy (but also drifty when you need it). And it sounds guttural.

It’s a beast. I can pass everyone before the corkscrew.

Love it.
Would you post your tune of the Pantera? I love that race too.

Looks like an easy week ahead. Not a fan of Tokyo at night though. Unappealing. We already had a special Civic race at Tokyo in the past, so many tracks to pick from, PD!

Here you go...

Wide body
Type B wing
No front plate

It's not 100% perfect as there are some situations where if braking hard into a corner it will understeer. You need to brake first, let it settle, then turn in. I'm wondering if the suspension is too low and the springs too soft allowing wheel to body contact on hard braking. I may try tweaking the suspension height up a bit and see if that helps.

Even though it has racing brakes, with the soft medium and undersized rotors on this car, the brakes are still terrible. As long as you adjust to that, it's fine though; typical 70s/80s super car...

i am using the fairlady z34 '08 for the 700pp race due to its fuel economy, the xj220'92 for the hypercar, civic '97 for the civic race, Silvia Q's '88 for the Silvia sisters, and the corvette sting ray for the American race.

In Spain it updates tonight at midnight.
It updates at midnight local time everywhere in the world. That means the most easterly time zones get them almost 24hr before the most westerly ones.

I have been posting the new races in this thread as soon as they are available (in a UTC+12 time zone) for almost as long as the Weekly Challenges have existed. I follow that up with an article later on, which usually contains a mention of "midnight Friday morning in your local time zone".

It's happened. The randomizer gave me the Valkyrie for the Hyper Car Race.
I discovered that car past week - omg it's such a weapon ( running almost LMP1 times at Le Mans ) and I love it.
De-tuned it to roughly 750 PP to not take the lead after one lap already ...

The other cars will be

  • Ford Sierra Cosworth '87 ( tuned to 550 PP )
  • Nissan Silvia S15 '02 ( tuned to 600 PP )
  • Honda Civic Touring Car ( tuned to 550 PP )
  • Alfa Romeo Gr.4 ( tuned to 690 PP )

Can't wait til race start.

Edited for PP correctness.

Ever since I got the Ferrari FXX-K from a 6-Star Ticket (ironically a day after getting the LaFerrari just before the invite expired), I've never looked back. Its long since replaced the 458 car I've tuned to be a Challenge car replica and it just gets the job done every time.

Uh, @Famine, might want to add a special nod for the Civic race. ;)
Nah, what these cars(R33, FD, A80) are doing, we can’t do alone.

If that’s just showcasing multiplayer with AI traffic(regardless of the slow cars as traffic for this clip), cool. If it’s linking cars together by cruising(a la Forza), that’s something that may be in a future update.

In the Civic “One model” race, PD have added traffic!
They’re doing the thing!

I had paused the game after I passed all the other Civics. When I unpaused and did another lap, I saw the first HiAce. I thought the game glitched the cars. I hadn’t even looked at the grid before starting the race.

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Rush Hour

A new round of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is making its way to consoles, as midnight arrives on Friday morning in your local time zone, bringing five new races — including one of the oddest we’ve ever seen as a one-off event...

had to pit 2 laps earlier then i would of liked in red bull ring due to incoming moderate rain had a caution during lap 6 from 3 cars sliding into the sandpit at the same time
Hypercar event was simple had some mistakes early got better as the race went on
got a clean race bonus on a wet civic race
willow springs is always a challenge no matter the track and event
Laguna Seca the corkscrew can be a challenge if not careful.

Hmm. An interesting set of races this week. The first two races did nothing for me, maybe I should have chosen cars that would have made them interesting for those two.

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca_.jpeg

I thought the Ford Roadster would make it fun. But no, besides its looks it drives pretty much like any other old (stock) American car. Wonder what car I should have used instead.

The Silvias in general I feel are pretty similar cars overall in the sense that they're not that quirky at all. They drive fine unless you put in a crazy engine, but I didn't want to just win the race with power alone. I just used one of my more underused cars, the 180SX with some mods taken off and SH tires.

The Civic race is really interesting. I like the idea of having traffic in the back. Can you imagine even more random traffic around while you try to win a race with CRB? Anyways, the old Civics all drive great if well tuned and adjusted. I love how they just glide through the curves. So rewarding.

Autódromo de Interlagos__2.jpeg

I was scrolling through my garage, looking for something interesting to drive when I saw my Hellcat Superbird not having been driven in a while. I realized why in the actual race. Half the time I was just fighting to keep the car on track. This is all despite playing with the suspension and LSD, and even putting ballast to balance the weight and keeping the engine stock. I did win the race by only 1 second after spinning out in the second to last corner. But wow, what a wild race.

Red Bull Ring_.jpeg

This should have been easy. I made a gamble to pit for IM tires a lap early, and of course the rain just missed the track. I didn't want to pit again and waste time, so I went to Fuel Map 6, maxed traction control to limit wear on the tires and wrestled the car for 6 laps to win by a second. By the time I got to the last corner, I had 0.1 laps of fuel left and the front tires were gone. Another race made interesting by a bad call I made.

I was hoping to get a car from the roulette ticket, since I'm trying to collect them all, and it would have been nice to save the credits from having to buy a Gr1 car or something. But I got 500k credits instead to use towards said car. Eh, can't complain.

Except the Sisters of Sylvia and Sylvia, all others are good ones .
The only Sylvia i like ,was the Kristel one, 45 ears ago that i wasn't allowed to enter at cinema at my age 😂
At Ring i was on non stop race but a false alarm for rain at 7th laps lead me at the pits and did 3 laps on heavy rain tyres at the dry 🤣
anyway i took 4 CRB but miss the Sylvia one and i don't care at all especially on that track .

The 6* one didn't open it yet cause am at 100 million flat and waiting the two new cars that will appear tomorrow at LCD to unload some credits.

From what i read is a possibility to have rain at Tokyo or i misunderstood something ?

Yes. I had light rain during my race at Tokyo. It only accumulated just over the first bar, but I was running RM and not a problem. Similar grip to running at the WTC600 at Tokyo.
