Looks like they've picked great races for tomorrow, so I didn't want to fall behind and picked some great cars.
Here's my Fantastic Five of VGT Silver Surfers :D ready to roll :

Last week I changed back to normal difficulty from a couple of months on hard, having seen that I can win everything comfortably on that too. This week I'll be going back to hard because I have the pace to win but not the patience to deal with the amount of AI stupidity on lower levels. It seems to go up exponentially.

It’s not any part ticket it’s a 6* ticket 🎫 🤣
A 6* Parts Ticket to be exact, which means its a special kind of disappointing.

What will greet my annoyed presence today? Yet another Carbon Drive Shaft? Another Sports Computer? Maybe another exhaust manifold to my already swelled up collection? So many options to choose from in a sea of

Decent week, some races seem to be very easy too. Sunday Cup can be a little tricky if you stay under 500 PP and the AMG A45 starts at the front, not sure if the grid randomises much. World Rally Challenge is hilariously easy, in a real life rally spec 308 GTB I won by 15 seconds, with a Gr.B car that's more like 40+, they're so slow around there for whatever reason so you can pick just about anything and win. Nice time of day as the sun set, didn't really see the need for two laps though. Turbo Sportscars is also really easy because the AI isn't fast, no problems winning with the VGT Peugeot on SH. The Corvette one-make is fun and I liked that it starts at sunrise, AI isn't that fast even on SS tyres so I was able to easily win with a stock C6 ZR1. Surprised that's all we got for Le Mans this week, would've been nice to have a Gr.1 race or WTC 900. WTC 700 is reasonably hard if the Viper gets into the lead early, I had to run 1:31 to catch up with a pit stop for fuel only on lap 5. Some of the other AI will pit either lap 4 or 5, either way they end up losing enough time to not be an issue, next best AI was 15-20 seconds behind the Viper.

Cars for this week:
full

i hate dirt races with a passion, made it to end of lap 7 before refueling in the 700 pp race on fuel map 1, Corvette '01 is a rocket at lemans, the TC race i was getting faster each lap, euro race was simple.

It is Le Mans weekend! Thought I would drive some Le Mans race cars from over the years, each race for each decade. Because why not!

Deep Forest Raceway__1.jpeg

First race was with the BMW 3.0 CSL Art Car from 1975! Painted by Alexander Calder as the first Art Car, always been a fan of the livery. Sadly the real car did not finish the race, but hey it started the Art Car project where BMW would race cars painted by artists to this day, most recently at Le Mans last year.

Fishermans Ranch_.jpeg

Next would be the Porsche 961! Based on the 959 Dakar rally car, it was pretty unsuccessful in real life. Only raced 3 races, and its last race, the 1987 Le Mans, it crashed and caught fire. Porsche restored it and its now in their museum. What could have been.

Dragon Trail - Seaside_.jpeg

Next up we have Team Kunimitsu's NSX GT2 from the 1995 Le Mans race, where it won the GT2 class. Honda also entered the GT1 class with the NSX, to no success. This car actually appeared in the first Gran Turismo, for those old enough to remember.

24 Heures du Mans race track_.jpeg

Of course, the Corvette C5.R from the 2000 Le Mans had to appear here. It didn't actually win its class that year, losing to the Dodge Vipers. It only won the following year. Anyways, pretty fun car if tuned right.

Deep Forest Raceway_.jpeg

And finally, the Ford GT-LM that won its class at the 2016 Le Mans. The number #68 car was the one that actually won, not the #67 here. Their win marked 50 years since Ford first won the race with the original GT40.

Fun set of events this week. Also, RIP to Jochen Mass, winner of the 1989 Le Mans race with the Sauber Mercedes C9 that's in the game. He passed away last month. Decided to wear his racing suit this week for all the races.

Four done (hard difficulty)...

weekly-challenge-202506w2-r1.jpg

Deep Forest - Renault Clio R.S. 220 Trophy '15 - Upgraded to SS tires, which put me over the suggested PP. Got held up by the other Renaults on the first lap and was never able to close the gap to the leaders. P3 and first ticket obtained (weight reduction for a GT-R).

weekly-challenge-202506w2-r2.jpg

Fishermans Ranch - Peugeot RCZ Gr.B Rally Car - Good fun in the dirt. Easy win. Second box checked.

weekly-challenge-202506w2-r3.jpg

Dragon Trail - Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo - Upgraded to SS tires again and had to install a power restrictor to get it under the limit. This car is SO nice to drive. Another easy win. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202506w2-r4.jpg

Le Mans - Chevrolet Corvette C8 '20 - I tried SS tires for half a lap, running deep at every corner, before exiting and switching to RS tires. That made all the difference. The car wasn't the fastest on the straights, but with those racing tires I made it all up on the corners. Took the lead on the last run through the Porsche corners. Fourth box checked.

24-2025.png

1. For race 1, I used the faux i3 LM. On this track, the i3's lack of speed really comes back to bite it. I had to resort to a fair bit of dirty driving to get first.
2. For race 2, I used the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, detuned, I believe to around 81%? regardless, it was way too fast for me, and I spent most of my time trying to keep it under control. I also noticed that at times it felt sluggish out of corners, like it had traction control on, but it was off?
3. For race 3, I used the Civic Type R I built last week for civic cup. It's quick, but understeers a bit.
4. For the Corvette Cup, I used the C6, made to look like the C6R. I need to alter the settings a bit, I think I lowered it too much.
5. Finally, for WTC 700, I used the Honda NSX. (It's totally a GR.4 and totally not a detuned GR.3 :P)

Challenges complete, with wins across the board, all on Hard difficulty, eventually!
To be honest I wasn't inspired by this weeks selection when first posted on here yesterday, but it turned out to be quite an enjoyable selection...

This being the weekend of arguably the most iconic motor race, I decided to pick cars that were iconic to me, during my youth.

European Sunday Cup 500: Peugeot 205 GTI, SM/SH tyres, Sports brakes, some engine tuning, NOS!
This was by far the most challenging race of the week. trying to catch and pass both the A45 and A110 in 2 laps, seemed an impossible task, despite many tries with many setups, until I remembered that NOS doesn't affect PP. Hey if PD can bend the PP rules then so can I. 1st place at the Nth attempt

World Rally Challenge: Ford Focus RS, full 'Rally Spec'. Nice to have a dirt race for a change, however despite a large PP deficit this was still far too easy to win.

Race of Turbo Sportscars: Ferrari F40, SS tyres, LM Aero. Pretty much THE Iconic turbo of the 80's. Uneventful win, but enjoyable, none the less.

Le Mans Corvette Special Event: 69' Stingray, RM Tyres, full race spec. Wasn't expecting to enjoy this one, as while the Le Mans 24hr is an iconic race, the track itself doesn't really do it for me. Surprisingly, the race was actually quite enjoyable, leading home a '69 Stingray 1-2.

World Touring Car 700: Audi Quattro S1 Pikes Peak, RH Tyres, FM 4, 1 stop, fuel only on Lap 5. Catching the leaders was never going to be the issue, keeping this beast pointing in the right direction long enough to do so, was the real challenge. This thing can go from mild understeer to snap oversteer in a heartbeat! Multiple tries with various setups were required before a win was managed, but it was enjoyable work.

6-Star Car Roulette netted a RedBull X2019, which I was never going to buy, so at least I can now finally completed Menu 49!

Photo of the week has to be Le Mans!

It’s extra disappointing when they kind of have the right idea, but get it so wrong.

How about this LeMans special event given this is the actual LeMans weekend:

-1 hour race with time x 24
-random weather
-GR1 with GR3 traffic (we’ve seen the last few weeks that they can do it)
-3x tire wear and fuel consumption

Not wanting to be the pedantic 961-excuser that i am. But's its first race, Le Mans '86, It finished 1st in class (Gr.B/IMSA GTX) and 7th overall - beating all the C2 runners. :D

Does difficulty level impact the weekly challenges? Not sure why I thought that the difficulty was "fixed" for these.

Challenges are done. As usually all on hard difficulty and this time with a more serious approach.

For the first race at Deep Forest I used a stock M3 E36 (498.18PP). Wasn't fast enough to catch the Alpine but got the AMG and finished P2. Also got CRB.

Next was Rally at Fishermans. Time for the mighty Jimny (swapped, 493.07PP) to shine. And the Jimny delivered! There were multiple switches of position on lap 2 between me and the other two guys in front but in the end I managed to drive it home. CRB? Lol!
1976976efcd70-screenshotUrl.png

For Dragons Trail I chose a stock F40 (615.17PP). More than enough to win rather easily. Great car, nice track, fun race. Got CRB!

The Le Mans event gave me an excuse to build a C5 for racing. Maxed it out and ended up at 754.17PP. Maybe a bit too much, took P1 at the end of the first lap and won by 28 seconds. No CRB, probably because I went off track once.

It ends where it began, at Deep Forest. Drove a fully built 86 GRMN (674.58PP). With RMs and FM4 It allowed a nice nonstop drive towards victory. Again no CRB, although this time I have no idea why. Whatever.

The ticket gave me a Nismo GT3😐 But overall it was a good week, no bad races here, definitely had fun!

May I ask why not in rain?
Sorry for late response.
Not in rain is usually on difficult cars to avoid facing the wrong direction 🤣 .
Although racing with rain was a fact that took place at Lemans and my griding days and many times that rain caught me out on dry tyres ,AT gears and couple gears up was saving me from disaster.

European Sunday Cup 500: Radical SR3 SL. Not sure why I don't drive this more often, very easy.
World Rally Challenge: Toyota 86 GR.B Rally Car. Another car I'm not sure why I don't use more, its easy mode in a race like this.
Race Of Turbo Sportscars: Aston Martin Vantage '18. Brought back out the GT4 build and as per usual, untouchable.
World Touring Car 700: Toyota GR Supra Race Car. Quite a good one to do fuel save with if you want to stick strictly to GR.4
Corvette One-Make: Fun stuff, though easy win giving how OP this build is.

Pretty straightforward week.
I overthought the Vette race. I thought PD would bring it with some rain and all with fast cars. Boring. I had my 700+hp C7 on RH and it was over on the first lap at the end of Mulsane. CRB too! lol

Fisherman's Ranch in the same car I've won this race before,Subie. Easy and it was over at the end of the first lap.

WTC700 was my chance to test my new swap: Escudo on RH. What a fun car! Sadly even on FM6 at the start it eats fuel like anything. I even pitted twice and still won by a minute. Even lapped 10 cars.

Dragon Trail is a race I've done so many times. Just grabbed what caught my eye. Peter Cunningham's RTR NSX. Easy win.

The other Deep Forest was in one of my old Bimmers. Another easy one.

Won a Dodge SRT VGT.
Now on to watch for hours tomorrow's REAL Le Mans race!!!! Enjoy all!
