My cars for the weekly and how it went... Hard difficulty btw

Sunday Cup @ Willow Springs: AI is very weird in this one I found... Tried it at first with stock Citroën BX, no chance. Stock Silvia S14, no chance. Tried various cars in the 375-425PP range. Could not get a win. Front AI was either an AE86 or a Civic EF... Clean race, I could not gain time fast enough in 2 laps... So I gave up, used a stock Subaru 22B-STi. Guess what the front AI was.... Honda Fit Hybrid... Won it by 10+ seconds... CRB🟢

Citroen BX One-Make @ Dragon Tail: Stock, with sport medium. The time you gain in the corners is just insane. Easy win. CRB🟢

Vision Gran Turismo Trophy @ Tokyo: Don't like VGTs. Don't really like Tokyo Expressway. Forgettable.... Used the Audi e-Tron VGT
with a small detune... CRB🔴

Ferrari Circuit Challenge @ Lago Maggorie:Ferrari 458 Gr.4, RM. Cuts trough the roster like a hot knife trough butter.... Lead F8 Tributo put up a decent challange as it was quick on the straights, but no chance in the end... CRB🟢

World Touring Car 800 @ Suzuka: Audi R18 '16. RH and detuned to 799PP. Luck with the rain, short-shifting and 2 laps on FM2 made sure I didn't have to pit. Lost the CRB in the Casio chicane being impatient to lap the Alfa... CRB🔴

Daily 4-star gave me...... Dodge Hellcat Safety car. Sold it for 35k-ish...

The Peugot SUV Special race was expectable ;) Cool that we'll get a 6* roulette ticket again (yeah I know that some of you guys prefer plain cash, though).

Well, you knew it'd be coming eventually...

FR450 at autopolis, fair enough.

One make Peugeot 2008. Well, at least it's not the reverse lay-out....
falls purdue football GIF

American CC700. Got an idea for this

WTC600 Spa. I like Spa, Spa is always good in my mind. Biased? Just a little 🇧🇪

Neo-Classic RBR. Nothing wrong with it, altough after the TT in Gr.3 there I really needed i break from it

Apparently they forgot the Corvettes (no 3rd time for them?).

I'm one of those people who liked the Pug because it's similar to the car I drive, but I'm not enthusiastic about driving it on a weekly, let alone on a track I hate (the Streets of Willow Springs).

Regarding this Neo-Classic, IIRC it can rain in this event so it's winnable even with lower cars. I remember having an easier time winning this with a Gr.3 car than, say, Willow Springs.

It's not the only one that's not yet have their third run (excluding BX and 2008 because they are new):
  • F3500-A: 2/3
  • Ioniq 5 N: 2/3
  • Viper: 2/3
  • 205 GTI: 2/3
  • Z4: 1/3
  • Vantage '18: 2/3
  • Corvette: 2/3
  • 812 Superfast: 2/3

Also: Civic 2/3.

I expected this week to be the third Civic one-make because all the Civics just went back on sale at the UCD.

Weirdly, the Viper is the only Special event featuring a line of cars that were not in ANY updates thus far ever since this string of DLC based events started going.

You know the drill. Also: This is the most my car builds have used for a Weekly challenge and it ironically includes both my very first one from last year as well as my latest three Builds. I feel proud :D

Pretty fun week with a few surprises along the way. FR Challenge has a heavily tuned Silvia for whatever reason so it's basically impossible to stay at the suggested PP. I went with a stock RX-8 and barely won, the two of us were more than 15 seconds head of 3rd. The Peugeot race was surprisingly enjoyable, although it is very easy. Clubman Cup is also very easy but fun, lot of cars you can use here. WTC 600 also has quite a few options, fun combo with cars of that pace, also seems they fixed the RX-7 crashing at Eau Rouge every lap. Neo-Classic is the tricky one depending on a few factors. On hard the AI will run 1:22-23 quite easily so you'd have to run 1:20 or lower to win without any rain providing you pit. If you don't have to pit it could be easier but the AI can also sometimes not need to pit which again means you'd need to be stupidly fast to win. However if you do get a decent amount of rain it becomes a lot easier to win even with road cars, I won with my fully tuned R33. If anyone is struggling I'd suggest either the XJR-9 or the MP4/4 then hope for some rain, the Group C cars can make it without a stop with a tiny bit of saving if it does stay dry.

Cars for this week:

Four down for my Friday morning drive (hard difficulty)...

weekly-challenge-202507w1-r1.jpg

Autopolis - Subaru BRZ S '15 - The car was already just over the PP limit so I ran it unchanged -- not even a tire upgrade. Was a pretty easy drive to the win. First ticket obtained.

Willow Springs - Peugeot 2008 Allure '21- Upgraded to CS tires just to give myself a slight advantage because I knew I'd be making some trips into the sand. Still managed a win. Second box ticked.

Trial Mountain - Garage RCR Civic - Upgraded the tires to SS. I wasn't sure if it would be enough, but with the way the AI takes that first complex of corners, it was easy to make up ground. Another win. Another ticket obtained.

Spa - Toyota GR Supra RZ '19 - SS tires and sports computer put me just over the PP limit, so I got a power restrictor to get it back in range. This was a good race right to the end. I only caught the leader on the final lap at Les Fagnes, where he just let me by for the win. Fourth box checked.

A very blue week here.
1. I used the GR86, I believe it was about 20 points below recommended, but did really well.
2. I had to, reluctantly, get second for the 2008 One Make. This was because it decided to understeer too much on the final lap.
3. I decided to buy the recommended car for the American Clubman Cup 700, the only thing I don't really like about this car is how drifty this thing is.
4. I decided to try a bit of a challenge, and use the Swift Sport Faux LM, despite a pretty low top speed, it was very quick in the corners, but I think the game is artificially slowing down the AI, most of those cars should have been enough to absolutely humiliate my car.
5. I wish this game would let you preview next week's events, as I had literally completed this event on wednesday. Ironically, the race I chose to swap to IM tyres, I ended up nearly going back into the pits for wets instead, but it was so brief that it didn't really make sense.
