Ready for some fun in the new cars...
weekly-challenge-202508w5-cars.webp

How could I not wide-body the Integrale and Avantime?

Anyways, it looks like a fun week. Let's see if I can remember how all these French circuits go.

I have 4 of these for testing, so sure, post up the tune if you don't mind!

Yeah, weird that the high-rpm supercharger isn't available, and you get more power for the same pp! I wonder why that is? I'm sure someone on here knows. In fact, now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever fitted a high-rpm supercharger. 3 turbo versions, 1 supercharger version, and rarely 1 extra turbo version is available to me.
Glad you got the supercharger sorted !
This build uses the same wheels and aero parts as the 600pp version.
The tyres, engine parts and settings are different.
You can set the gearbox ratios to what you prefer. This one was for the Nurburg Ring, that's why the 5th gear is set so long. Usually I just use a freaking long first gear for other tracks to reduce the wheel spin. TC 1 or 2 also help keep it under control.

nearly had a sub 3:00 lap during the 800 pp weekly race
All my laps were below 3:00 except for the pitting lap of course. I also finished under 24 minutes and lapped the entire field.
To do this, I used the McLaren MP4/4 ‘88 and in order to lap the field, the CPUs need to be set to easy. Although on hard, Senna’s F1 car still wins by over a minute.
Now I’m curious as to what other cars can accomplish this feat.

VS Hard CPU results below.

Choices for the races. Video later today.

European Sunday Cup 400: DS 3 Racing. Pretty much an accidental Tarmac special considering this was supposed to be a Rally build
Vision Gran Turismo Trophy: Lexus Lf LC GT Vision Gran Turismo. You know how it goes.
Ferrari Circuit Challenge: Ferrari 458. Challenge Build doing its thing.
World Touring Car 800: Honda NSX GT GT500. Flawless
Renault Avantime One-Make: Not a bad build considering it has no setup. That exhaust I equipped on it also makes it sound amazing

(Pardon the partially Sepia tone Thumbnail, the site I usually use for downsizing images from the PS5 has become unreliable)

the TS050 hybrid has the potential to do sub 3 with the right gearing.

Nothing exciting to report this week. Just the norm. lol
WTC800 in one of my trusty 800's, Audi. Easy win. Went in for a quick splash at the end of the 9th and won by over a minute.
Circuit de Sainte-Croix - A_ (2) by 2cam16, on Flickr
VGT in my other go-to,the Lexus. Same car that won this race previously. Easy win over the Genesis/Hyundai.
Grand Valley - Highway 1_ by 2cam16, on Flickr
Ferrari race in my 430 Scud. Easy win.
Autodromo Nazionale Monza_ (4) by 2cam16, on Flickr
Avantime special in my mildly tuned car. It was still too strong for the modded ones. Won by around 7 seconds.
Alsace - Village_ by 2cam16, on Flickr
My Avantime did double-duty this week and raced too at St. Croix B. Too easy.

Clear the races yesterday, VGT's at GV took me 3 attempts and e restarts to take CRB 🤬 .
At my top hateful track i took LM55 for a mon stop race and took the CRB for the very first time there .
So anxious to do it that i was just cruising the last 3 laps 🤣
Laps was around 3.10 and over but i don't care , I'll never ever learn that track and don't want to.
The new Avantime is very cool car around 550pp with SS tyres on .
Have 3 with different settings and the one is swapped.
All laps are inside a second with the 3 of them and i guess is the best race for credits of the bunch.

Decent week, nice to have a couple of new races. Sunday Cup can be tricky if you try to stay around the recommended PP, depending on the order of the field they can be quite a lot faster but a stock Renault 5 Turbo was easily enough. The one-make was at a nice time of day but I was surprised they were on SM with some of the field in tuned cars, I only have a fully tuned Avantime so it was a very easy win. VGT Trophy is deceptively difficult with how much the Skoda can change in pace, I wanted to use the new Corvette but the road car isn't classed as a VGT for whatever reason. Tried the Gr.3 FT-1 and was pretty close, if it was possible to make the Skoda start further back it would've been fine. Switched to the Genesis and had a pretty easy run, still don't like the track. Ferrari Challenge is quite easy as long as you have good straight line speed, just watch the lapped cars. WTC 800 I used a fully tuned Corvette C7 and pitted on lap 4 for tyres and fuel, the GT-R that was about 10 seconds in the lead seemed to struggle on worn tyres so it was easy to catch up and pass for the win. Not the biggest fan of that layout but still ended up enjoying the race.

Cars of the week:
full

Well, what's left in my mind from the new challenges ?

Race 1 wasn't a challenge at all because I used one of my new babies. Drove the restricted version with 180 kW - maximum fun, less scary. If you look at the picture, well, the difference between the two is 40 years, some rust, 400 kg of weight and 80 kW.

Race 2 was both an upset  as well as a true challenge. Began with a low PP car ( as mostly ) and didn't get nowhere. So I started the upgrade process but it felt like whatever I do the AI gets faster too. In the end it's been five attempts and a final 500 PP Avantime to beat Koertig in the white / red one. And I took the win simply because he got stuck in traffic, he still had the best Overall Run Time when I left Alsace.

Race 3 was another first time drive. I had read a lot here about the Lexus VGT so I wanted to try myself finally. And yes, I understand now. ;) I think on twisty tracks it's almost unstoppable, felt a bit like a cheat code though. Gave me a really easy win.

Race 4 saw me back in the 812 Superfast, the same ( very basic :sly: ) setup I used last week. Once accepted that it's fast as a race car but needs being handled like a heavy road car, it's a good one. Slowly grows on me. And what can I say, a really easy win once again.

WC_250829_R4.webp

Race 5 was a total blast. Felt like the Valkyrie was made for this track, what a rocket. :D So if you have the opportunity, try this. I've been running RH tires with FM2, pitted after lap 6 and finished unchallenged.

On a sidenote : The new Corvette VGT is quite a let down. I had hoped for one more favorite in that category ( there aren't many ) but the way it's implemented the car's pretty much useless. Tried the five lap race at Monza yesterday night and the Genesis X shot past me down the main straight after three laps. Me going 200 km/h ! My 595 esseesse is way faster !

Some real challenges this week (hard difficulty, mostly)...

weekly-challenge-202508w5-r1.webp

Sainte-Croix Reverse - Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione '91 - The car was already over the suggested PP so I tried it stock (aside from the wide body and aero). That was good for a podium, but not the win. First ticket obtained, but not a win. I went back a second time after adding sports-level upgrades. An easy win after that.

weekly-challenge-202508w5-r2.webp

Alsace - Renault Avantime 3.0 V6 24V '02 - This one also took a couple attempts. In the first, I tried only upgrading the tires to SS, but the car didn't have the speed to catch the leaders, despite sitting at 460PP. Finished P4. I went back to the tuning shop and picked up the sports-level upgrades. That made for an easy win. Second box checked.

weekly-challenge-202508w5-r3.webp

Grand Valley - Chevrolet Corvette CX.R VGT Concept - Like everybody else, the battery went empty on the final lap. Still managed to bring home a P2. Good enough for the second ticket.

weekly-challenge-202508w5-r4.webp

Monza - Ferrari F12berlinetta '12 - I put SS tires on, which brought the PP just under the limit. Easy win. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202508w5-r5-fail1.webp

Sainte-Croix - Attempt #1 and 2 - BMW M3 GT '11 - I couldn't remember what tire strategy to use here so I started on RMs for my first attempt. I saved fuel a bit to get to 4 laps, then pitted for fuel and RS tires. That landed me P17. No good. I tried again with a 4RS-4RS strategy without fuel saving, but could only improve to a P11 finish.

weekly-challenge-202508w5-r5-fail2.webp

Sainte-Croix - Attempt #3 - BMW Z4 GT3 '11 - I decided to try a different car. The Z4 was definitely an improvement, but I could still only manage a P5, 6 seconds back from a podium finish.

weekly-challenge-202508w5-r5.webp

Sainte-Croix - Attempt #4 - BMW M3 GT '11 - Enough is enough. I got back in the M3 and lowered the difficulty level to normal. Easy win with a 4RS-4RS strategy. Final ticket obtained.

A fun week, I have to say, and more challenging than I expected.

I felt the same, tried it for the new WTC 900 race at Spa and made it 3 laps before it ran out of hybrid and was about as quick as a Gr.4 car. The road one isn't any better given it doesn't count as a VGT and will spin its wheels up to 300 km/h on stock tyres.

I started last night the WC. I used the 787b . I didn't realize how tired I was until.about lap 3. I sent the FL at 3:19 go into a groove on lap 2 so I was ready to cruise through race until I get hit by a couple of elephant tranquilizers 🤣🤣🤣 After that it was a struggle. I think I ended winning by 3 seconds after multiple crashes each lap. I called it a night after that 🤣🤣

All wins on hard difficulty:
1. Renault Clio R.S. 220 Trophy '16 - 453pp,CM
Renault Avantime - 462pp,SS
2. Renault Avantime - 498pp,SS, high rpm turbo
3. Audi e-tron VGT - 850pp,RM
4. Ferrari 458 Italia '09 - 642pp,SH
5. Mazda 787B '91 - 800pp,RH, no pit stop
Renault Clio, Ferrari and Mazda have tunes by @praiano63.

No wall-riding. It is built using SM tyres, the SS tyres don't last the second stint. You can go flat out in auto or manual with no tyre or fuel management. Pit end of lap 6 to fill the tank and fit a new set of SM's.

Lapping the traffic cleanly from lap 9 can slow you down sometimes. On this particular run I was pretty lucky with the idiots and
even got a nice tow on lap 10 to get that fastest lap time.

It is wide body. Wheels are 18'' with wide offset and standard width. Front aero B. Rear A. Wing A. With a fresh oil change the power will be 683hp.

Thank you, I managed to make it too.

Enzo powered F40 feels really good round Sainte-Coix.
Enjoyed this Combination, probably do it again tomorrow.

Made some setup changes and went a lot faster.
