My petty quest to finish the Skyline One-Make in under 7 mins on Sports Soft tires continues. I'm getting closer.

AI silliness aside, my braking is inconsistent in the first half of the track - that's where the extra time lies.

I cannot believe that I'm ignoring the Road Atlanta race to run an overpowered R32, but here we are. And I'm having a great time.

Here's the tune. Behold, the desperate time attack horror:

I am contemplating bringing an R35, an extra 10 cylinders, a very, very large turbo and racing compounds for the finale.

Try setting the anti roll bar in front to a lower value. Reduce rear downforce. Set torque distribution to 20-80. Watch out with all that added weight to the rear though.

The one thing I did today ( seemed quite logical btw ) :
I took a Japanese, professionally tuned 4WD car ( 760 PP R92CP-swapped R32 ) that raced at Grand Valley Highway 1 yesterday, changed SS compound to D, made some minor tweaks to FR power distribution and transmission and went next door to Fisherman's Ranch for a leisure run.

So... should we expect to see some pics of an LM55 there soon?

Finally did the Gr1 race with the Toyota GR010 as someone suggested in this thread, 2 stops, went quite well, about 20 seconds ahead of P2 IIRC. Changed fuel map though the race but I guess an average of map 4 could work.

Did you really think you get away with it just like that ?

But ...
Neither will I ever reach your insane Total let alone break sub 7 ( you must be running blistering first 1.5 laps - congrats ) nor will I ever be able to drive that car with your setup. What a loose nightmare ! If it had even more mid-corner rotation I'd throw it away in that micro left kink at the end of the GV main straight ...

I’ve tried the GR1 race twice now, and both times my PS5 shut off about half way through. It’s kept clean and is in a well ventilated area, it just loses power.

I strongly dislike Road Atlanta, and absolutely hate Gr1 races because the AI is in full Wreckfest mode with wildly differing performance characteristics, so that was one race in which I didn't even try the CRB because at Hard there's simply no time to wait for safe overtaking spots. Or actually there are no safe spots as they'll use you as a pinball anyway. An easy win though, 25 laps with two stops and lapped everyone so perhaps the time would be there but the patience certainly isn't.

I was serious in my warning about the tune And yes, the aero balance is not for the feint of heart. It's like this because I've been hanging around in a tuner time attack thread. It... did things to me. 38/62 front/rear weight distribute feels normal to me now [send help].

I'd love to run a 1:44 dead just to mess with @smoothbore12, but I don't think I can best your lap. Bravo!

At least it is far more useful now.

Mediums, FM1, pit every 5 laps. It loves shredding tires so better be careful with the accelerator.

Used the Overtake function sparingly.


However, you are still better off with the demonic base LM55.

Man on fresh softs the Prototypes at Road Atlanta are a HELL of a ride. Start getting below 1.10 and man it's edge of the seat stuff. Got 3rd with the Toyota but made a mistake that cost me the win, pace is pretty fast from the AI given all the fuel saving you need to do in order to get it down to two stops.

These weekly challenges are fun and a nice break from online racing and all that but the AI being stupid fast on exit and crazy slow mid corner is seriously annoying. Exiting the last chicane i was being left for dead by like a second or so but entering turn 1 I'd gain it all back.... just wild differences in speed.

I pulled out the track killer LM55. Well at first it was LM55 then I switched to the LM55 Gr.1. Then I missed the 8th gear on the LM55 VGT s I switched back to it. RM at FM3 got to lap 9 and I had a brain fart and forgot where the pit lane was

Started over after remembering where the sit stop was. Did 2 stops. 1st stop switched to RS-FM1. I was hoping to get some space between me and the AI. Didn't work like I expected as started having handling issues. I forgot to slow at curves. Next stop with 10 minutes left RM-FM6. Finished 1 lap ahead of everyone
I took some pics at night. I love this track at night. It reminds of the Petit LeMans in the old ALMS days

Finshed with the Lancer Evo race with a swapped Final version

Got a Fxx that I forgot to sell.

For the finale, I prepped an R35 T Spec with the Chiron swap - 1800hp and Racing Softs... Only to find that this GT-R was not eligible for the GT-R One-Make

Annoyed, I did a shakedown run in a swapped, maxed R34 on Racing Soft tires.

OK, fine, I admit that the R34 is the superior platform (lighter too and fewer handling quirks). I, grudgingly, understand the hype now.

The R32 and R33 are still cooler though!

Finally managed the weekly challanges All on hard difficulty

Sunday Cup: Porsche 359 A/1500 GS GT Carrera Speedster '56 - stock - sliding on the brakes, but had some fun. Win ✅
Japanese 4WD Challenge 600: Toyota Celica GT-Four (ST205) '94 - modded suspension, brakes, exhaust, air filter. Basic win...✅
Evolution Meeting: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII MR GSR '04 with the Gr.B engine swap - one of my 700PP LeMans grinding cars. Great set-up for a fast Monza - 2F2F livery obligated... Win it I did ✅
Gr.1 Prototype Series: Tried the Hyundai N2025 VGT Gr.1 - RM, 3-stop -> after 7 laps for fuel, after 14 laps for fuel, after 21 laps fuel + softs. Won by around 7 seconds on that Peugeot... Tense race, wasn't to sure about my strategy but it paid off. Needed consistent 1.07-1.08 lap times and dropped to 1.09-low 1.10's with worn tires by lap 19-21...✅
Skyline GT-R One Make: Skyline GT-R V-spec II (R32) '94 with the R92CP swap. Tried it first with a 650PP-ish R34 but quit after 1 lap lol. The only CRB of this week 🤣 I really like this car...

Aside from, like, one dirt race, every race added in updates comes to Weeklies over the course of the gap to the next one.

Probably why we have five new races if we're waiting three months for Spec III...

Ugh Eiger in Gr.B... I don't like this one + I'm sick of Eiger with the TT in the Stratos. On the other side, I do have the track memorized now....

Yeah not excited for this one. Fisherman's Ranch Eiger Norwand Reverse & Alsace? If I didn't know any better I would think PD is purposely trying to make me not attempt to do this week's challenge I know that is not true but putting three of my least favorite tracks ( maybe 2 but I don't like Alsace Village track) in the same week's challenge if they used Willow Springs then I know they were trolling me.
