And now look at this, guys :

A mix of Famine Deep Purple and Lexus Passionate Pink ... with a V8 engine !

Anyone has got the screenshot of next week?
Yep. I forgot to post it. Actually I forgot it was Thursday, but let's not dwell.

Should be the last "traditional" set of challenges no? Since next week it will already include the modified ones from Spec III, right?
We think so, but can't say for sure.

Hey now. If this is the last week for this iteration of the Weekly Challenges (Emphasis on "IF"), what a way to end it with the RA272 at Watkins Glen. Other then maybe the Bus stop (I predict dying of death if I try to SVG it in that), should be much easier then Spa.

Actually the reason why @Famine was late with the weekly challenges was because he was still on his way back from Sardegna and had some issues with traffic...

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Honda First Day of Christmas…

A brand-new set of Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges is now available — or over the next few hours, depending on how west you live — in likely the final set before the switch-up brought about by the impending Spec III update...

Fuel Map 1, started on Mediums. Short shift at 8k rpm. Overtook the entire grid by Lap 5, then pit at Lap 7, refuel and switch to Softs. Use the DRS when you can, Hulk smash that button.

Profit.

At least I didn't rely on the base LM55 for a change.

Love the livery, where do I find?

using the TS050 hybrid'16 for the 900 pp, 205 turbo for the gr b, escort Cosworth '92 for the American, and the civic type R'20 for the Japanese

First weekly races with a PS5, pretty big change over PS4 Pro honestly. Quite liked this week, although some events were extremely easy. FF Challenge is at a nice time of day and a good circuit for those cars, stock Suzuki Swift had no trouble. American Clubman Cup also ran into the evening which I enjoyed, AI can be a bit annoying around here because they're really slow on a few corners, but that's also an advantage, stock '13 Viper GTS was an easy win and fun to drive. World Rally Challenge is unbelievably easy, in a stock Celica I won by over 30 seconds so I'm pretty sure you could find the slowest possible Gr.B car and detune it and still win easily. Enjoyed the one-make race more than last time although it was also a lot easier, ran without ABS too for more of a challenge but struggled a bit because you can't set the brake bias far enough rearward. Had a lot of fun sliding around some of the longer corners at Watkins, perfect track for this car. WTC 900 I was going to try to use another '08 GT500 car but it would require trying over and over until I got the right weather. Figured I'd make it simple and just used a stock GT500 RC F instead, got into the lead on lap 9 and then pitted as there was a massive downpour. The top 2 didn't pit so they ended up in a gravel trap, the rest did switch to wets and I won by 25 seconds. Again I went without ABS, still getting used to the PS5 controller too.

Cars for this week:
full

Fellas, I play in Normal difficulty mode. No problem with the first 4 races, but once again I can't win the WTC 900 without cheating by using the SF19 (same as the Gr1 weekly race at Suzuka 2 weeks ago, and by the way if anyone understands why this type of car is allowed, let me know the logic).

I tried the Porsche 902 and the Peugeot 908. For comparison, in the below table I also put @Fuzzi0n 's GT500 RC F which he can win with in hard difficulty and yet it's a considerably less powerful car (much lower power/weight ratio etc). So basically it seems there's nothing wrong with the cars I'm driving and perhaps I should have a harder look at the driver 😁.

I use the RS tires because... more grip I guess ? but of course they wear faster. Also it seems with these cars I can't void avoid having to refuel.

What else can I do ? ... There's something called TCS which I haven't explored, I just leave it alone.

My strategy for these races is to split in 2: if it has 10 laps, I stop at lap 5, refuel and change tires. Too simple ?...

I pitted on lap 5 and ran RM/RM, it can be a little tricky to figure out what's best with the potential of rain. When I finally got a clear lap I was running 1:47 but there would be more time in that if I used ABS and fixed the setup to not have so much oversteer. On hard the AI will run 1:50-51 fast laps from what I saw, not sure how much that increases on normal. If you can pick a car that can do the whole race on RH without pitting it might work, otherwise just try to make up as much time as you can and hope they mess up with strategy in the wet.

Ok but both options are cheating right ?... I want to win fair and square like you ! Let me get back on the sim shortly and see my lap time at Suzuka as a starting point with the Peugeot. We'll take it from there.

For those types of races, going for a no-stop strategy harms your pace considering that you only have 10 laps to win the race and you have high fuel and tire modifiers.

Pretty much why I always run the Time Trial, experimenting each and every eligible car on the same conditions of the race proper and deduce which one is appropriate. And I do it on Fuel Map 1. There are cars that do benefit with short-shifting, while others on lift and coast method.

Hence why the Medium RPM turbo is the most ideal turbo upgrade, because it allows for a wider powerband, helping with the fuel economy.

That's a wrap. Weekly challenges done.

The RA272 race was a neat addition, but a niche one.

"Hülkenberg" caps off the weekly challenges with the RS5 DTM. Easy peezy lemon squeezy.

By the way, the "Hülkenberg" concept livery is now shared.

Well, after the server issues, I've finally managed to get the picture.

1. I begun the week with a Suzuki Swift Sport, I got about half-way before I remembered "Oh yeah, I have sports tyres on" - so I switched to comfort softs which are the default, That didn't change the handling too much.
2. Next, I used the Ford GT. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I noticed it has a more R35-GTR-Like V6 noise compared to the real GT-R R35.
3. Next, I used the Lancia Delta rally car, which IMO is the best handling GR.B car in the game.
4. Once again, we've got the RA272, or, in this case, the Firwood F165 (Firwood's the name of my fictional racing team) - Have we gotten a special event featuring the F1500T-A yet? I don't think we have.
5. Finally, I used the NSX Concept-GT. I don't remember where I got the Firefox livery, though.
