@jrbabbitt there you are

🫡 for the last Spec II Weeklies

The second time i run this ( after LM55) was with a Honda NSX 08 .
Was stock with full aero both sides and way less than 900pp on RM tyres .( 960 +pp if i remember well)
Dry race, FM1, pit and tyres at 5th lap .
Unfortunately you have to leave "politeness " for another race if your searching for the CRB .
Especially at the end when frontrunners have to give lap at the last cars and they can easily throw you out if you are with them 😂
Laps at 52+- will do the job in a dry race ( normal mod) .
With rain i guess should be easier if you made the right pit entry .

This car continues to make wonders.
GAHHH how i have to suffer that song when I want to give a "cool" emoji...

Not yet hyped from the upcoming spec III game version but hyped from my Impreza Rally Car '98. Spent this afternoon lowering the car's PP level more and more to see what is possible at the Colorado Springs weekly challenge with its very slow AI. If you take into account that a stock Group B car runs at roughly 650 PP the test result is almost ridiculous : The slowest car I could achieve a clean win with was this :

Thought about further tests tomorrow but honestly, I don't have high hopes as the run posted above was on the edge already. Or ...
maybe I'll go the opposite way, bring in a maxed out car and lap them all !

@AEther
The 2J is great, just do it !

I hope that after the update, qualifying for weekly races (with more than 5 laps) will be standard.
I wouldn't put too much faith on it, as the qualification is, so far, only confirmed to be part of the power pack DLC, not the Spec 3 update. PD would also have to change the structure of the Weeklies from chasing the rabbit strategy to one based on qualification for grid position, so I don't think that's happening. So, that would result in a totally different experience of Weekly Challenges depending on having or not the DLC, which means segregating players. Not happening in this aspect of the game, me thinks.

Broke my personal best.
The car is awesome. But personally hate, hate, hate having to fiddle with the overtake button all race. That's why I avoid it like the plague. Maybe I should try without ever using the button. It could still be pretty good or could it?
Does Chaparral 2J count as not cheating in WTC 900 at Suzuka?
I think that's a matter of preference. In general I think do as you please with whatever car.

But then again if you even think about "cheating" then personally I think that any car that isn't part of the regular opponents lineup is kind of meh.

It still is good even without the DRS, just take advantage of the rather torquey engine, especially with the Mid-rpm turbo installed.

Japanese FF Challenge 450 at Sardegna in a stock Honda Civic Si Extra (EF) '87. I have fond memories of this track as it was the very first online win I got in the GT Sport days. I hit the lead in the last few corners and then I shat myself trying to stay in front lol. My legs turned to jelly and I got the sweats real bad haha. But when I crossed the line in 1st I knew I was going to be hooked on this game for a very long time.

Well I reconfigured my RA272 with the great setup you shared and the tyre choice became "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", RH were too slippy, RS were to grippy, and the RM were just right.
Something I've noticed since I got the PS5, and really was noticeable in the Watkins Glen race, was when you are in a turn and you are full lock either left or right, you can feel the tyres scrubbing with the new controller, I've heard the squealing at times but when I felt it in the vibrations that coincided with the squeals it "clicked" with me and I learned something new that can improve my driving.
Squealing is scrubbing and loss of effective traction..

Definitely a game changer. I noticed this when I got the TGT wheel in the GT Sport days. The 'immersion speaker' was dubbed a gimmick for most but I noticed it was giving valuable feedback on scrubbing which changed the way I drive. It felt like cheating as it allowed me to push the tires closer to the limit and also when to hold back in tire wear races.

Glad to hear the PS5 controller does the same thing.

All the credits for the tune , belong to @CTRL Garage .
Let's say i made it more viewable since was hidden in a spoiler of his .

I'll admit to owning every car in the game and testing every one of them in VR but to really know the car you gotta spend some time with it and find it's limits alongside your own limits.

One of things I love about this game is the variety of cars you get which would take years to get to know each one properly. And to this day every so often you find something you just love to drive.

So I was delighted to jump in the Garage RCR Civic for the American Clubman Cup 700 and get to know this car properly. It was super fun taking down all the muscle cars in this challenging stock car attempt.

My cars this week:
all on hard difficulty

Japanese FF Challenge 450: Honda N-Note, tuned to 440PP, sport hard, no widebody. Very easy win, CRB✅

American Clubman Cup 700: LS9-swapped Pontiac Firebird Trans Am '78, tuned with RH to just under 700P. Probably used it for LeMans once. Very fast, terrible brakes, so brake before early 🤣. Win but no CRB as I overshot the very first corner! 🚩

World Rally Challenge Gr.B: Stock Subaru Impreza Rally Car '98. Adjusted the supension a bit (softer + higher up). AI can't drive the overpowerd Gr. B cars on the dirt. Even with 250hp less this is a walk in the park... Took the lead in lap 3, won with nearly 25s... CRB✅

Special Event one-make: Jim Clark's 1966 Lotus 33-livery. RM. Came 3rd in the tow of P1 and P2, losing by just 0.7s. Good enough for the ticket, but will do this event again. First lap I lost some time so this should be an OK win. CRB✅

World Touring Car 900: Porsche 919 Hybrid, RM. Had no rain so pulled a no-stop. Last 2-3 laps the front tires were screaming in agony and I lost lots af my lead, but managed the win by 2-3s :odd: CRB🚩

4* daily marathon ticket gifted me 30k

I used my usual Hyundai Genesis Gr.B Rally Car for the WRC Gr.B event at Colorado Springs since I hadn't done that round yet.

Otherwise, it does seem like the end of an era of sorts, what with Spec III coming this Thursday, but I'm incredibly excited to see the new types of weekly challenges!

I hope that after the update, qualifying for weekly races (with more than 5 laps) will be standard.
It's unfair to start 30-40 seconds behing the first....
Would be great, but somehow I doubt it.

Btw, have you ever tried the 20 min Bathurst mission? THAT race is unfair!

These AI ****heads get worse every day. Both on the last lap, clean races that far.

What do you do when you're leading, slip off the racing line and someone's coming up on the inside? Hit the brakes hard and go full Schumacher, of course.

And what do you do when you're losing the fight for the 16th place and the leader laps you? Dive bomb him, no other option.

And let's not forget that awful Porsche in the WTC GR.3 races. If you haven't put sufficient distance between you and it at Monza or Daytona after Turn 1 on Lap 1, prepare for the most accurate representation of a careless divebomb in Turn 2.

I had a few unsuccessful attempts at the RA272 One-make yesterday (I've recently set difficultly on 'hard' and am still getting used to it) but at least 4 of those were ruined by exactly the same Schumacher move on exactly the same spot in the same conditions. The most exasperating one when I was making the move for 2nd place on the last lap and was, however, left cursing the A.I. aloud while missing the top 3 at the finish line.

The race is fun, but there are like 3 spots in the circuit where the A.I. cars just follow their scripted lines, whether you're there or not.

Just a strange thought.....how would you guys feel if PD made the challenges real challenging by giving you just one shot at each?
Unless the AI actually gets fixed then no, they're far too likely to just ram/block you and ruin an attempt. Otherwise I think people would just pick overpowered cars, usually I try to use underpowered stuff and that can take a few attempts to get right which can be a lot of fun.

Ok, Spec II Weeklies at their final destination :P

Nothing special at the Japanese FF with a "Virgin" Honda Integra @ 450pp, CRB, hard:

Corvette C7 at Laguna Seca, no CRB, hard:

Contrary to what I initially intended, I took my NSX rather than the GT Four to Colorado, no CRB, hard:

Others already said it: The one-make is pure fun this time! Alone the engine sound is awesome in this race. Had to go back to normal difficulty, as those AI bastards are pretty fast, though. CRB, at least:

20970679801683524.webp

DTM at Suzuka, also at normal, pit after lap 6 for fresh RMs and fuel, FM4 - 5 until then, FM1 for the rest of the race. Got Sternberg in lap 9, no CRB:

Had 3 daily marathons this time, got a 6* parts ticket yielding some ultra-high RPM TC, a 5* giving me 100.000 Cr. (which is pretty well IMHO), and a 3* resulting in a fresh yellow Clio - not too bad week, all in all :)
