And what do you do when you're losing the fight for the 16th place and the leader laps you? Dive bomb him, no other option.
You finish that race with your head held high and GET A BETTER CAR...
The Audi RS5 DTM properly tuned will do the ten laps with no stopping. It's in same class as AI cars so its not cheating...

Others already said it: The one-make is pure fun this time! Alone the engine sound is awesome in this race. Had to go back to normal difficulty, as those AI bastards are pretty fast, though. CRB, at least:

Fantastic photo....👌👌👌

usually I try to use underpowered stuff and that can take a few attempts to get right which can be a lot of fun.
This! ☝️

To get the best racing out of the old AI choosing a stock or underpowered car is the way to go IMO. Yes the AI doesn't care about your existence on the track for some of the corners but this makes them all the more predictable.
After a few tries in a less than adequate vehicle you can anticipate and predict the AI movements and adjust accordingly.

You learn this pretty quick in the Tokyo 600 grind. The purple dive-bomber NSX is a good example.

There is also the quirk of when you pass most AI drivers they kinda give up and don't chase you down. It's been like this since GT1.

Had to take my FTO LM Edition inspired livery out for the race at Suzuka in anticipation for the return of the FTO in Spec III.

World class YouTube account name!

As I'm trying to play a bit more these last times, at least on a weekly basis to complete the weekly challenges, here I come !

Everything on normal difficulty, no helps but ABS on standard, using a Logitech RS50 on a GT Omega Titan.

And for my first participation in this thread, pics from my hometown and Chambord castle, 15km from here. Nice to have them in scapes !

Japanese FF Challenge 450:
Stock Civic Type R '97. Easy win with CRB, from now I'll try to start on hard difficulty for this kind of easier races.

American Clubman Cup 700: Stock Corvette C7, I had to have a few try before I finished without an error pushing me out of podium. No CRB

World Rally Challenge Gr.B: I struggled a bit with the Delta WRC on the first try, used the 205 turbo 16 on second attempt. I was violently rammed in the wall by the Quattro (be it in WEC or WRC, Audi I despise thee), no CRB.

Special Event one-make: was too slow with stock RA272, but it was too easy a win with RS tires and Hi-rev turbo, I'll try to have another attempt with something in-between. No CRB

World Touring Car 900: stock 908 HDI, FM6, no stop. I had to use TC1 with this one. No rain, and no CRB.

You mean I should get a better car so I could go even faster than this and have to deal with even more lapped idiots? Well, how about no. And that was an attempted clean race, with caution to the wind I'd have gone below 18 minutes easily.

Confused by this. Do you mean the Tokyo wet (actually slightly damp) WTC 600 race? Done it literally hundreds of times and never seen a purple NSX, let alone been dive bombed by one. Do you mean the blue Gallo NSX with the dumb pit strategy? Or am I missing something? A different race?

Oh crap am I colorblind or it did miss-remember. 😬
Yes I was referring to the Gallo NSX.

Not a great week as I barely had time to squeeze the juice out of this last set of 'legacy' weeklies, but was mostly interested in the RA272 One-make as the one a couple of weeks back left me smiling like a boy.

I took my Copen for the Japanese FF Challenge 450 and had plenty of fun with the little husk but onto the next one we go with an easy win.

I wanted to test my recently-built engine-swapped 700PP-tuned Mustang 429 Boss '69 on a racetrack, so what better occasion than American Clubman Cup 700 at Laguna Seca. I'll admit to not being very skilled at handling high-torque muscle cars, but just love this one in particular. Got the win at the second try as I drove the Boss to the gravel first time around (not you, Bruce, the other Boss).

Although I'm not a big fun of dirt races implementation in GT7, the Rally Challenge Gr.B at Colorado Springs was an opportunity to bring out one of my all-time favourite rides, the Delta HF Integrale. Just watching the replay (super easy win) and snapping pics brought memories of me watching WRC events as a teenager.

And here we are arriving at the RA272 Special Event at the Glen. So eager to feel the breeze of the open cockpit and listen to the fantastic engine sound while flowing through the turns and straights of a vintage circuit ... and then some. I've enjoyed every second I've passed tucked in this little car ... but also ended up cursing most of the competition when, if not for my lack of skills and speed, was rammed off-course several times by the stupid overly aggresive A.I. After a couple of P4 finishes I was left in dispair when being P3, while tailing 2nd and 1st place cars on the last lap, tried to make a (very clean on my side) move on the interior of T9 only to be rammed against the inner fence at the exit of the turn. DNF out of anger.
In the end, I had to give in and lower the difficulty to 'normal' for this event only and got an easy win some 10s ahead of the pack.
If I'm in the mood (and have time to spare before the deadline and completion of the final event), I'll try to go back to the Glen at hard difficulty. Bloody bastards won't prevent me from my pride and glory!!!!

While we can't put a Road Runner engine in a '32 Ford, we can go racing in the streets in a Hemi with a four on the floor or feel like Burt Reynolds in that black Trans Am. No '69 Chevy with a 396 either but yours is pretty close to an all-set Cobra Jet with eight grand blowing hot on the red line. The door's open but the ride ain't free - and that's alright with me.

Bonus points for anyone who figures that mess out.

The 69 Chevy is from one of my all time favorite songs - love it love it love it !

Fellas, I play in Normal difficulty mode. No problem with the first 4 races, but once again I can't win the WTC 900 without cheating by using the SF19 (same as the Gr1 weekly race at Suzuka 2 weeks ago, and by the way if anyone understands why this type of car is allowed, let me know the logic).

I tried the Porsche 902 and the Peugeot 908. For comparison, in the below table I also put @Fuzzi0n 's GT500 RC F which he can win with in hard difficulty and yet it's a considerably less powerful car (much lower power/weight ratio etc). So basically it seems there's nothing wrong with the cars I'm driving and perhaps I should have a harder look at the driver 😁.

I use the RS tires because... more grip I guess ? but of course they wear faster. Also it seems with these cars I can't void avoid having to refuel.

What else can I do ? ... There's something called TCS which I haven't explored, I just leave it alone.

My strategy for these races is to split in 2: if it has 10 laps, I stop at lap 5, refuel and change tires. Too simple ?...

Playing in normal too, I did the race with the Audi RS5, Racing Hard tyres, FM 6 with a little bit of short shifting, no pit stops, very easy win, and was near place 1 when AI pitted, after that it was a walk in the park and lapped a few AIs too.

If missions replace one event every time at weeklies,i have the feeling that things will be difficult 🤔
I might be wrong, but missions are different than races and you can't lower the difficulty.

At least it will push me to complete some missions over time, I think it is an interesting change !

Definitively. Once I again I have to mention Bathurst Gr.3 race from the missions - if that event comes to Weeklies, I for sure won't be able to complete those. And there are plenty of other missions that are quite hard to get even bronze, too.

EDIT: The difficulty raise might well be intended by PD...

The new Weekly was presented to us with 3 new events!?? Or did I miss something?!
The fact it's dated as September Week 2, was screenshotted on September 12th, and ends on September 18th is one thing you may well have missed, indicating it's a placeholder.

That graphic shows what events are possible: unique Time Trial and Mission Challenge events created for the week, alongside the existing unique Special Races. It doesn't preview any one specific list.
