The fact it's dated as September Week 2, was screenshotted on September 12th, and ends on September 18th is one thing you may well have missed, indicating it's a placeholder.

That graphic shows what events are possible: unique Time Trial and Mission Challenge events created for the week, alongside the existing unique Special Races. It doesn't preview any one specific list.
I must be naive then!! It's confusing!! That's what I understood during the State of Play; I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw it that way! They should have presented the online events across three different weekly updates; that would have been much clearer!! Communication and polyphony don't mix!!

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges: Now That’s Magic

With the Spec III update arriving today, players can also get a first look at the latest iteration of the Gran Turismo 7 Weekly Challenges, available from midnight Friday morning in your local time zone...
I don't know if this was changed since you wrote this, but there is a credit reward for the one lap magic now.
It's a one-time reward, 8000 for 3rd, 12000 for 2nd, 20000 for 1st.

If someone, back in late 1998 when I began my GT career with a lime green Silvia which I sold as quickly as possible after getting money for something better, had told me that there will be a day when I like that junker a lot I would have laughed them out. But here we are, the old shoebox has never looked this good or performed this well. It's genuinely a good car and one I really like driving for some reason.

Did the just remove a race from the weekly challenges just to put a driving mission and pass it on as a revamped challenge system? 🫩

I just did the mission. Got second, yet got 20k anyways. Maybe a bug they introduced when hastily implementing rewards for completing the mission.

That is exactly what they described it as. So you shouldn't be too surprised about that

The one-time awards are always cumulative. You didn't get the P1 20k prize, you got both the P2 12k and the P3 8k, which happens to also total to 20k.

As i thought, adding missions in weekly races will make them more difficult to collect all tickets.
The best i could with Vette field is second one and after enough restarts and repeats .
Ok ,i took the ticket but they are missions that I won't .
Hopefully i clear the manufacturers races and get another 2 millions and equalise all new cars i bought ( some 2 times like Espace)
Although to be honest i need to cheat at F1 race not to mention that i use TC at 4!!! Otherwise i couldn't leave from spin city borders 🤣

Interesting that the race time of the second place finisher is so different in both of your races. 19:13 here vs 18:57 in your Franz Hermann attempt. Is that just the normal Gran Turismo rubber banding?
Next data point in our little Yas Marina experiment.

I tried a 2-stopper in a stock 296 GT3 (no turbo) on softs. AI did more or less 18:57 once more.

I spun once at the end of my first stint and then did this at the end of the first. The car is a lot of fun without traction control.

1000022141.webp

I guess an alien could win the race with this car. Personally I will do it with turbo next.

Hi, can you please let me know your tune/set up for this?

I hate these Silvia events, I cannot find anything that works, I even have a engine swapped one and it's all over the place

I liked this week's races. The mission was so so. I don't mind it but i'd much rather have another go at Watkins Glen with the Honda than this.

For the races I again tried to use a competitive car that goes with the theme of the event.

1000022167.webp

Trusty Civic Type R 97 at Blue Moon. It chucks in so suddenly when lifting or slightly breaking. It is weird but fun. 1st but no clean race.

1000022168.webp

The Silvia Sisters races are some of the hardest races in the game. At least if you believe the recommended PP level. The AI is insanely overpowered here.

I tried a somewhat regular S15 spec-R Aero with only modest tuning for 580 PP. No chance. But at least the challenge was done.

When I tried to win this race back then I used this bad boy. Corvette C7 engine swapped S14.

I don't think I actually applied a tune but if I did here are the settings as well.

Holy race time. Well done on 600 PP.
Lago Maggiore is always an Italian Job

I couldn’t agree more! Bellissimo!! 👌

Ciao Ragazzi. I totally agree. The gorgeous Ferrari 500 Mondial is a fun drive. Super twitchy. But also fun.

And finally I at least managed to get a 3rd place for the challenge at Yas Marina. This race is tough.

After buying the high rev turbo I tried another 2-stopper on softs. I didn't contemplate that the extra torque and sometimes wheel spin will eat up the tires much more. Half way through lap 4 my rears were toast and I had to start over.

Tried the no stopper on hards now. It was looking quite good. I was trying to minimize wheel spin. I steadily gained on the leaders while not eating up my tires like crazy. I was on pace to catch the leader through the last lap. But then my worn tires got the best of me.

1000022176.webp

So close yet so far. Still got 3rd to redeem myself. Will put break balance all the way to the front next time and try to save tires even more. Less exits in 3rd more in 4th I guess for example.

This track car combo is a complete master piece in my opinion. I couldn't be happier with Spec III.

All done. Not all wins. Not all on hard difficulty...

weekly-challenge-202512w1-79-r1.webp

Blue Moon Bay - Suzuki Swift Sport '17 - The car was slightly under the suggested PP. I don't remember if it had an modifications. Still and easy win.

weekly-challenge-202512w1-79-r2.webp

Deep Forest - Nissan Silvia spec-R Aero (S15) '02 - I have this beast modified up to 667PP specifically for these Silvia Sisters race. It is way too much. Another easy win.

weekly-challenge-202512w1-79-r3.webp

Lago Maggiore - Mercedes-AMG C 63 S '15 - Stock, this car is over the suggested PP, so that's how I drove it -- SH tires and all. Despite skating all over the track, I still managed a win.

weekly-challenge-202512w1-79-r4.webp

Watkins Glen - Chevrolet Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept - I gave this a couple of tries. Finished P3 on the first attempt; P2 on the second. That was as many times as I was willing to sit around for a minute waiting to start. Good enough for the ticket.

weekly-challenge-202512w1-79-r5.webp

Yas Marina - Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 '12 - I tried a one-stop on RMs, pitting on lap 5. Finished P11. Clearly I need some more practice at this track. For the sake of getting the ticket, I dropped the difficulty to Normal and tried a no-stop on RH tires. That was good enough for a P3 and the ticket.

Ok week. I just overpowered the races just to get them over with so I can explore all the new races. lol
Blue Moon in a mildly modded FTO which was still too much for them.
For the Silvia Sisters, I used a car I haven't tried for this race, my SR20 swapped Silvia. Won in the twisties and half a tic at the line.
Euro was in an M2 that was too much again.
The mission isn't my thing and not gonna stress over a second place. Done with that.
THey nailed the graphics with Yas for sure! Beautiful night racing. I took one of my 787's, no pits, easy win. I'll explore this race again sometime in the future with less lethal cars. Those 10 laps in a fast car is good for learning though.

No-stop on MEDIUMS. Yes, you've read that right.

You're tire saving skills are insane. How? Did you adjust BB to the front? My hards were close to dead. Especially the rear.

Currently I am getting consistently better at throttle control forcing myself to not use TC.

Next evolution needed would be proper steering. Currently I am very often just going full lock on the controller rather than looking for the right angle. Tires be squeaking.
Brought out the nuke.

The fastest AI lap time was 1:55.

That's still on Hard difficulty, by the way.
AI race time of 18:56. On par with the times posted before. This seems to be as fast as they get. Seems like consistent high 1:51s could be enough to win.

That sounds almost possible for a very fast driver in a stock 296 GT3 doing a no-stopper on mediums. @RCKakashi14 wanna try?

Sorry for turning this thread into the Yas Marina WTC 800 thread.

BB is at 0.

Just did delicate steering and throttle work. Completely at zen.

Wheel used: Thrustmaster T598

Thank you!

I have always struggled with the Silvia Sisters races, sometimes I have had to go through each car to try and win, but I have just started to use a wheel/pedals and also switched to manual gears, so trying this race last night with a 700pp Silvia I had wasn't going very well at all

I want to do the mission challenge first to complete the whole set before I post about the races, but now in between :

FYI my AI at Yas Marina ran roughly 18:40. That's been two cars, the RX Vision and the 296 ( Urra and Hashima ).
I used a 2J on RH for a no stopper.

Tbh I really though we were getting 3 new events instead of 1. I mean one lap magic has really low replayability, so it would make sense to mix it with regular race...

Is anyone having trouble with the last weekly race in Abu Dhabi on PS4? I'm experiencing lots of trouble with a sustained FPS drop and I don't know if it is just me or is something common. It is the first time I am having this kind of issue in the game by the way.

Yes, Yas Marina is a bit laggy on the PS4, if there are other cars on track. Between turn 6 and turn 7 is especially bad.

Not much we can do, unfortunately.

I think it's fair to say the revised weekly challenges are NOT, NOTHING LIKE the previewed info graphic which showed THREE one-off events out of the five.

What we actually have is ONE replayable race replaced with ONE mission/whatever comes next week.

I guess that's loosely "improved" since it is not just another race. But you're stretching if you argue this is anything substantial of an improvement UNLESS THERE IS MORE THAN ONE NEW EVENT EACH WEEK.

"Gasly" went full gas on this:

Much better tire wear than the 296, so no tire whispering took place.

My favorite "Gr.3" car. Even though it technically isn't. It just blends well within the rest of the grid.
