I had trouble finding a stock car under 400 PP for European Sunday Cup race at Goodwood. The only one that had a chance was the 205 GTI '88.

How good would it be if PD added the Festival of Speed track. Along with the selection criteria, curated themes, and invitation only.

Wow you are so smooth and so fast, barely brake ..

Been trying for a couple of days and I just couldn't get the stock 205 <400PP to finish in the top 3...

Compared to you, I think I brake too much and so I skid due to no Abs

On comfort tires it just doesn't grip.
I had to bump to 440PP on Sport tires to get some traction.... And finish 1st.

But I still run with no ABS and no traction, clutch manual...

I might give it another chance tomorrow to try to replicate your feat. At below 400 Pp

Thank you! 🙏

Yes it took me a while to work out you need to carry the speed through the corners as much as possible and use as much of the road as possible to do so.

Once you know the limits of the default tires it can be quite fun throwing this car around corners. But also very frustrating when you dip into the grass a little too much and it's game over haha.

Goodwood and the Super Formula race were tough.

At Goodwood I struggled to find a car that could win it for me. I guess most of my choices could win but for me it is really hard to keep the momentum with them and that is crucial because their acceleration just isn't strong enough and changing gears takes forever. These is the progression I went through until I settled on the slightly overpowered but marvelously beautiful DB5.

I won the Genesis Gr. B at some point from some special event but can't remember what it was. The traction is insane and makes this race a breeze.

The Civic swapped Beat is strange. On the regular transmission it tops out at 147 kph which is just too slow with these long straights. I then bought the short transmission high (not sure about the original english name, literal translation) which is both cheap and allegedly suited for high speed tracks. Well this one tops out at a breath taking 151 kph. With the massive acceleration advantage of the Civic engine and added traction from comfort softs this makes for an interesting challenge however. I won by a hair and had to resort to some blocking shenanigans.

I didn't despise the 296 race but it wasn't that exciting either. Slapping Sports softs on it was massive overkill in hindsight. It is a beautiful car though in my opinion. I especially love this livery. (I heard different opinions though with some calling it an abomination.)

Finally the Super Formula race. Man this was tough.
I'm going to need a good tune for the SF race. My Fuji tune just ain't cutting it.
I decided to play with the setup a bit. I maxed rear down force and softened the suspension. This helps a lot through the chicanes and also makes the final chicane with its huge curbs bearable. I also dabbled with the dif a bit but I don't really know what I'm doing there.

I exited most corners and chicanes in 3rd except for the final hairpin. I tried T2 in 2nd as well but didn't really make it work. Exiting in 3rd here made me fall a few car lengths behind but at least I was consistent.

This finally won it for me. Most laps were in the 23s with some in the 24s. Did a 7-8 on mediums going all out. This definitely makes up for the needed refueling.

And this came from my car ticket. Didn't have it yet which is nice at 1.6 mil. And a Gran Turismo classic as well.

Regarding the Sunday 400 at Goodwood, i got the Citroen DS Pallas on the randomiser.

Not enough power in stock form, so I detuned the 911 swapped version to just below 400PP with the power restrictor and Comfort Mediums (Softs were such a massve jump in PP, that no amount of detuning brought it into within the limit!).

Quite a fun a challenging drive, in the end. It really seems to me that the more recently-added events in World Circuits are typically a better challenge (albeit using the dreaded rabbit-chasing format), as if PD have got better at balancing them over the years. Usually in the past, meeting the PP limit meant an easy win.

For you, these might be "better balanced". For others (like me), those new events are just bloody hard... :scared:

Another small improvement at CGV ...

and that's it for me - I'm ok now with my own performance.

I found it an interesting week with many of us struggling and fighting with that race, testing and practicing and finally improving little by little ! Great isn't it ? Thanks again for all of your input.
