From all the changes on spec III the weekyl challenges is the most underwhelming, even we can consider the screen they ised on the announcement as false advertising

Definately a let down that they don't even give us more then one slot with the Mission Challenges or Time Trails, Just one slot that rotates between the unique race combos and those two. Was interested in a much bigger shakeup then this.
We had that one mock up of an "improved" weekly challenge in the trailer which showed 3 unique weekly events.

The trailer was unequivocally misleading on this part.

It was clear from the very first week of Spec III that this was the case.

I've only been doing 3 events per week for a while now, to get the first 2 tickets.

I also got 100k from the "Seasonal reward" 5 star ticket today - don't forget to pick yours up!

Got 500,000 Cr. after all races.

Alfa tried to squeeze me in the tunnel. I dispatched it and pulled away.

Got P3 in the first attempt.

More modern handling got me up the front quicker, but had to block for my life from the final corner to get the win.

Here is another Forced-Difficulty-30-Second-Gap-To-First-Catching-Up-Within-Five-Laps-Because-We-Are-Stupid-And-Cannot-Program-The-AI-Properly race.

AI can do 1:43s on Hard difficulty when most of "honestly" modified cars can't even touch it.

Leaning more on the frustrating side.
I don't think PD can't program a good AI in the races just for lack of skill.
The proof of this are the Clubman Plus and Gr.3 and Gr.4 Cup races, that can be a good challenge for hardcore players.
Maybe it's PD choice to make some race events more suitable for more casual players.
But, about these WTC 600 races, I really don't like it.
The gap between opponents are too long and their cars are a lot above 600 pp, making it hard, but in a bad sense.

While I do get the game as a whole caters to the casual players, those events betray the premise. Just imagine someone who is playing those for the first time and tune their car to this rather restrictive limit then being faced with an unfair challenge. Who in their right mind thinks it is a great idea to compress it to a 5-lap race with an AI so far apart AND running way over the supposed limit? The Tokyo 12-lap race has the ideal AI grid start, truth be told.

The game punishes players who want to play fair, and those events are proof of that.

Then we see those exploit tunes coming out of the woodwork. Cheat on the cheaters, I assume.

Yeah.
You had mentioned the Tokyo 12 laps race.
It would be cool if the PP range were higher, maybe a 650 pp limit, or if the opponents used lower-end cars, with less than 600 pp.

Hit and miss selection this week. Sunday Cup is very short but still fun, chance to use some very slow cars. European Clubman Cup has Gallo with the 1000 hp Alfa so you need something reasonably quick, or have to hope he gets stuck in traffic, Alfa 4C Gr.3 Road car was enough. WTC 600 isn't great as the AI can be very fast seemingly at random and they're annoying to pass as they love to divebomb or slam on the brakes while swerving around. One-make is probably the worst one they've done, 7 laps in the most boring conditions was just tedious and the AI is really slow so there's no challenge even with a stock 296, at least it's only the second worst thing involving a 296 in the last month or so. Final race made up for things quite a bit because it's one of my favourites. Fantastic track and the race runs into the evening, AI is also slow so you can use a bunch of different tuned road cars to make things fun. Their strategy can change quite a bit, some of it depends how fast you go but typically 720 PP is quite easy to win with. I went with a fully tuned LC500 and had no trouble, just ran map 6 and pitted on lap 5 for fuel and tyres.

03-2026.webp

A pretty meh week.

1. Back to the beginning. The Aqua S was my first car in the game, and this was my first event when starting the game.
2. Nothing remarkable with ECC600. The only challenging car with it was the black and red Alfa.
3. Again, nothing remarkable.
4. Putting out my washing this morning was more interesting than the 296 event. The most exciting thing was when I spun my car on lap 4, and even then, I was too far ahead.
5. Again, nothing remarkable.

I have done the first 4 races so far and the 296 race is 3 laps too long. It’s a terrible car to drive and tiptoeing around for 15 minutes is a bit boring.

Sunday Cup: Alfa Romeo Giulia GT Sprint Veloce. Foot to the floor and to the top of the track, that's it.
European Clubman Cup 600: Lamborghini Gallardo LP560. Finally got what feels like decent tune for this car and its worked wonders.
World Touring Car 600: Hyundai Elantra N. As usual, beating them in the corners.
World Touring Car 800: BMW Mclaren F1 GTR. All too easy.
Special Event: Repeat above.

I had a very relaxed walkthrough and it's been enjoyable. Not the Mekka of racing this time round but if you try to do it all cleanly there's always a bit of a challenge to be had. Especially against AI like Gallo. Imagine, a 700 hp car driven by an overambitious punk with bad car control - ridiculous. Feels great though when you get around finally and escape.
Another task was piloting the Gordini around Interlagos. A car without brakes on such a technical track ... Finally went with @rheinaoi 's suggested high grip setup, all thumbs up !
The cars I've used are posted above - https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/weekly-challenge-discussion-thread.423866/post-14556823 - the Jag was a first time drive and a pleasant surprise.

Here's some photos and the race results :

Well, no CRB at Dragon Trail, will have to do better tomorrow. ;)

The last time this race came up in the weeklies, I used a fully upgraded Valkyrie and lapped the field.
I used a 580PP M3 '89, on the long straights I was floored by the fastest of the field, but in corners I was passing them left and right.

As for the infamous Giulia, he rammed into me in the long tunnel, despite me keeping on the left and letting him plenty space to pass me, fortunately the wall on the left prevented me from a full spin. As a thank you I murdered him in the right turn over the bridge, making sure he not only met Barry R. but that his car will be stopped by the bridge barrels. On my first try he span me in the last turn while I was passing him and the Aston, he was behind the Aston and deciding to go on the outside to pass, but I was there already so he pushed my right back wheel... ended up in the wall. Thanks Valerio, fair play.

For Interlagos I used a quite tuned down Genesis Gr.3, could not catch Haywood though, too slow on straights.

NIS event is one of the least interesting ones. Used an old Porsche Speedster with ~350PP, not enough time to catch the first two, but you get the ticket with a 3rd spot, good enough.

That reminds me that race in Rome Circuit in GT2, where you have to pray for don't appear a opponent in a Ford GT40.

Alright, it's my turn.
The scapes locations where I had taken photoshoots from my cars aren't chosen by random.
I selected locations near the circuits where the events took place.

The event sets.

A city in USA, where are located Northern isle Speedway.

A road in Switzerland, where are located Deep Forest Raceway.19bc97dfbb968-screenshotUrl.webp

A road in Argentina, which borders with Brazil, where are located Interlagos Circuit.19bc97e0bf456-screenshotUrl.webp

A pit garage exactly inside Yas Marina Circuit.

A landscape located in Italy, a bit close to Croatia, where is located the Dragon Trail Circuit.
I choose a landscape from a country near to Croatia, since the game still don't have scapes sceneries located in this country.
The same goes for Brazil.
For that reason I choose a landscape in Argentina.

Being one who loves to race in completely stock road cars straight off the showroom floor, I spent a lot of hours finding cars that can win the Tokyo 600 with CRB. It's no small feat but it can be done. I've found around 20 cars so far based on my skill level.

But I think it's pretty well balanced so people like myself can enjoy the stock carchallenge while others can tune a favourite car. And for those who want to 'cheat' and wall ride a hot rocket that is available too.

The Tokyo 600 pp 12-lap race is among the easiest of the WTC 600s mainly because of the longer time frame for you to complete and the AI having a set behavior, hence making it balanced and doable by even the legitimate 600 pp tunes.

The others? Complete and utter BS.

Anyway. Moving on.

"Norris" left his mark on Croatia.
