After a very long while, I once again had a week of five straight one-shot CRBs on Hard difficulty. The only noteworthy ones were the Porsches, done as the fourth race of the first day:

And the F3500s done today. I gambled hard and went in with a non-swapped car on RHs relying on the rubberbanding to give me a chance and it surely did. Not the fastest run out there by any means but probably a hard to beat PP to victory margin ratio.

Feel like we've had this Jimny race several times, so I blasted through it, with a swapped Jimny. The speed was hilarious, and pretty dang fun.

Recently bought this car, and was surprised at the engine sound. Like an old muscle car, which I guess it technically is. Either way, fun to drive, with just race suspension, and SS tires, if I remember correct.

I've never really been into exotics, or hyper cars, but since GT5, I've been a fan of the F430. Always been a nice car to drive.

Finally got a chance to use the offroad Porsche. Was worried it would have been too slow stock, so put med turbo, and RH tires. That was way too much, so will probably try it again stock, just to see what it does.

The F3500 race on easy, was...very easy. Even pitted once for tires, and still won by a lot.

Is that the Porsche rally car from the Power Pack? I tried it stock and it wasn't quick enough.

For the Porsche Cup races I first always attempt them with one of my favourite stock cars in the game, the Porsche 911 Carrera RS CS (993) '95. After losing to P1 by 3-5 seconds each time I moved on to the next stock Porsche in the PP scale, and then the one after that.

Then an idea dropped in my head - what if I changed the tires in the '95 from SH to SM? My first attempt put me within 2 seconds of the leader across the finish line. This told me it might be possible.

Multiple attempts later I got in front clean on the third last corner. He didn't like that and rammed me on the last corner which ended up slowing him down too much to catch up to me crossing the finish line. Your fault buddy. Got the win and the CRB. 🎉

The Nations Cup season is done, so I have time again to do the Weekly Challenges (all hard difficulty).

My picks this week:
weekly-challenge-202602w5-picks.webp

My races:
weekly-challenge-202602w5-79-r1.webp

Sardegna Windmills - Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC '18 - Not sure what modifications were made to this car. I found it ready to go in my garage. Easy win for the first ticket.

weekly-challenge-202602w5-79-r2.webp

Sardegna - Renault Clio R.S. 220 Trophy '16 - No modifications to the car. I didn't remember where all the braking points were on this track, so I made a few mistakes on the first lap. By then, I was too far behind the lead car to catch up. Finished P2. Whatever. Good enough for the check mark.

weekly-challenge-202602w5-79-r3.webp

Deep Forest - Ferrari F40 '92 - I upgraded the tires to SS, and it's a good thing I did. The car still needed miles to brake at the end of the straights. Another easy win for the second ticket.

weekly-challenge-202602w5-79-r4.webp

Lago Maggiore - Porsche 911 Carrera RS CS (993) '95 - I threw all the sports-level upgrades at this thing, along with SS tires. That was just enough for a good race. I only managed to finally get by Carrazza on the final lap, with that yellow rocket of his. Fourth box checked.

weekly-challenge-202602w5-79-r5.webp

Red Bull Ring - Gran Turismo F3500-B - I wasn't sure what to expect for tire wear with such a high multiplier, so I threw on some RMs to see how long they'd last. To the very end, it turns out. I took the lead around lap 15 when the leader went into the pit. The tires were noticeably losing their grip to the end, but by then I had a big enough gap that it didn't matter. Another easy win. Final ticket obtained. It gave me 1M credits. Nice!

Cars for this week
all on hard difficulty

Jimny Cup: K24-swapped Jimny Sierra JC, 500+bhp LeMans car and didn't bother for a setup  No CRB🚩

Euro Sunday Cup 500: Renault Sport Clio V6 24V. Stock with sport hard tires. Easy win. CRB✅

Ferrari Circuit Challenge: Ferrari 330 P4 '67 - Stock on racing hard. I really love this car. The sound, the handling, the speed. This was an easy win once more... CRB✅

Porsche Cup: Porsche 911 GT1 'Strassenversion' - sport hard, think I put on racing brakes and added a little restriction to get it on 647PP. The sport tires makes it a little wiggly on some corners, specially T5 (long right hander) and T12-13 (fast chicane prior to last sector). All in all a decent win. CRB✅

F3500 Special Event: F3500-B, no swap. Mansell FW14 livery. Went for the RM to see how it would do. As mentioned above: they last the entire race. No-stop it is. Times drop (or go up, depending how you look at it) a bit in the last 3-4 laps but by then you should be in the lead for an easy win.
And I do mean easy, I am no expert on high downforce/F1 cars, made some mistakes L1-2 and only got to P9 in lap 3... Lap times were between 1:14.low and 1:12.high... If I see people here doing 1:11, 1:10, even 1:09.xxx that leaves A LOT on the table...
No CRB because of previously mentioned mistakes on L1 and L2. 🚩

My Jimny is hard to handle, but terribly fast - so I won by steering very carefully to get around those corners (but not here):

20969910473615380.webp

Porsche #1 at Sardegna. I needed a couple of attempts with different setups to finally beat Hizal at 500pp in hard mode:

20970981703263476.webp

The FXX drives very comfortable, but it isn't the fastest at 700pp... given that and my mediocre driving skills made me P3 in hard:

20970300728037668.webp

Porsche #2 at Maggiore was fun and an easy win, although P2 hunted me hard till the end:

20970441598463064.webp

Special race - oh my...! 18 laps - are you serious, PD !?? Got P3 after spinning twice with my F3500-B, unswapped. Nerves demolished:

20970494012471688.webp

Recieved the "standard" 500k Credits from 6* ticket. But we don't do that all for money, do we? ;)

Really? Well done. I struggled on hard difficulty. Even with ABS on. Took me quite a few races to get my eye in before switching it off.
Not sure what I was doing different as I know you’re quick, I got to the lead after lap 8 and lost concentration hence the few spins. The pack were catching me with fresher tyres by up to a second to two seconds but only in the last 4 laps.

Think my fastest lap was a 13.1

I think it's me. I haven't put as many hours in the cars above Gr.3 so I'm probably a bit slow.

I had to quickly dash through the weeklies due to limited amount of time available.

I quickly and uneventfully dispensed with the Jimny Cup and EU Sunday Cup races and concentrated on the last 3 events, which were the most enjoyable (with a pinch of procrastinating frustration as well in the F3500 special event).

For the Ferrari race my weapon of choice was my tried and trusted 458 Italia Challenge-spec'd. Once I caught up and passed Hashima and his yellow 812 Superfast mid-race the rest was fairly easy. I found the circuit and Ferrari-brand racing combo quite entertaining. If I had more time, I would revisit it with a lower PP unit where my threshold for PP/victory is in this event. Well, maybe next time.

With the Porsche Cup event I did not have as much fun as with the ferrari race. Maybe it was the lack of feeling with the 911 GT3 (997) '09 Cup Spec I chose, maybe it was the Lago Maggiore circuit not being a fave of mine ... maybe it was just me not having a good day!, but it took me a couple of tries to get through the event unscratched. Porsche Cup events tend to be in my go-to list, just not this one. Won't revisit it.

And here we go to the main event, the special F3500 race at the RBR. As with previous F3500 WC events, this has been another exhilarating high octane race. Frustrating at times, I shall admit, until I got my handle on the non-TC throttle application out of slow/mid turns. Man, it's so easy to lose the rear or to miss a brake point! Everything comes at you so fast that me having a look at the gap table a couple of times resulted in off piste excursions and a wasted race.

After a handful of tries, I got to my spot on the chosen V8 F3500-A and kept concentration long enough to make my no-pitstop run on RM tires worth the victory. I only had to worry for 3 or 4 of the last 6 laps when, after his pitstop for RS tires, P2 came to me real hard and reduced a 6s gap to 2s in the 3 laps. I guess that was all his RS tires got him to because the last 2 laps I just extended the gap back to 3.5s for a well executed race plan and victory! :D

Til next week!

Hard difficulty, no help but ABS on standard, using a Logitech RS50 on a GT Omega Titan, cockpit view. H shifter and clutch when it matches the car.

Jimny Cup Jimny XC '18, tuned.
I just took the Jimny I use for these events, but it was overkill, even if I slide way too much. No CRB, but this track is fun.

Euro Sunday Cup 500 Stock BMW M3 '97, 498,18pp.
Only 3rd as I tried to focus on the CRB.
No easy thing, as the black Mercedes tried its best to ram me out. This guy is now officially known to me as Sergio Maldotoya.
CRB ✔️
20970756184010674.webp

The madbutcher, Juan-Pablo Maldonerez.

Ferrari Circuit Challenge F8 Tributo '19, 699pp
I really like this car, much easier to handle than the 296. Nearly stock, just better brakes if I remember well. Clean race but no CRB I was surprised on two laps by the behaviour of the AI in the tunnel when they try to pass each other. I should have been more patient.
20970964699911892.webp

Porsche Cup Carrera GT, 649pp
SM tyres, adjustable sport suspension and street exhaust I believe. First time with this car, I liked it very much even if I got to be cautious on the gas ! No CRB
20970237929246600.webp

Caution : slippery when dry

F3500 Special Event Espace V10 swapped F3500-B
I was surprised how I sucked in this one, even if I like this track. Had to lower the difficulty.
I need to tune the car, the stock suspension tune with the V10 was... Interesting, let's say !
No CRB

I wonder what this yellow one is meant to be...

I really see the limits of playing only the weekend just to complete the weeklies, I need to play a bit more.

Oh look, a grind staple for the week.

Money making scheme.

And that race at Burgerking Nordschfries definitely has a high chance of rain.
