“…But I have patience and experience. A man can do anything if he has those."
AT in racing games is just manual where the game changes gears for you at the redline. And that's enough to get the event done! I wouldn't spend a second thought on this.
But the discussion here reminded me of something. I really think it would be great if PD would improve on AT in the next game. Currently it's very basic. A bit more realism, like shifting up depending on throttle position and a kickdown would definitely be nice.
The Kesselchen area will screw up most as its just up hillI forgot about fuel map my first attempt, and kept getting "trapped" in the longer uphill area from Kesselchen. My issue was thinking I needed to carry more speed. Of course the answer is minimal speed, I'm sure you can get even further if you can be patient and really crawl slowly. Once I got through the Karussell I got heavier on the throttle to get it over with.
Damn, that crossbow is a really good weapon😄More ?
Ok, far from being decent but a joyride for sure !
I also tried a handful of cars including the new Camaro Race mod at Bathurst with wins between 15.30 and 15.45 ... but there was one I didn't even expect to be able to run a no stop : The Suzuki swapped X-Bow. RH. FM5. A nice surprise and a cool drive !
Call me 'Tell' !Damn, that crossbow is a really good weapon😄
IMO, hyper fuel saving is an alien discipline to many GT drivers. This one is much harder because the gold zone is beyond a completely uphill section. Also, the lap is... long.Odd that many are not getting gold on their first attempt
I found it some what easy.
Oh, My. God. Damnit. The fuel saving challenge sucks mainly because that's nowhere near how it's done in real life. Quick acceleration with moderate engine load, low revs in a high gear, and keep the momentum by accelerating slightly before uphills to still have speed at the top to stay in that high gear is what gives results. Not crawling around at jogging speeds which in reality would give a lower mileage as the engine is still under some load and the speed is so low that even idling causes considerable consumption over the time it takes to actually get somewhere, and any load only increases it from there.
