J/K guy's.

On more than one occasion, I have asked you if I was flooding your PM box. You failed to respond, so I assumed that I wasn't.
But still, I don't want to cause you a problem. So, I will not submit until I return from my trip. Hopefully it will be in time.

Best save:
2x.xxx
1'xx.xxx

Whats with all the 1 digit sector posts  post yer bloomin sectors you chumps :P

Still waiting to see Bums sectors  .... i know he's a monaco specialist :D

Cripes I ran a T2 of 1.02.400 and when I saw it of course I shat myself and plowed right into the next wall thereafter.

Best clean so far is 1.02.9 but that was after an utter garbage T1 of 23.5. Iv'e been down int the 22's at T1 a few times so if I really nail the whole thing I might break into the 1.01's but chances are pretty slim there.

Also, to all the newer racers, don't get discouraged. This (or maybe Complex String) is the most difficult track and not the easiest car to deal with for a first or second week's race. Max, MrP and MrH are the fastest guys I know that do the weekly race series so don't even try to compete with them yet. I expect about a second or more difference between the top Pro time and the top Ametuer time, same beween the ametuer and beginner class if not more, so just try your best and ask questions if you have any, someone will help you along if they can. And a Sharkport or X port is the best teaching tool you can buy.;) It took me about 6-8 weeks of solid driving before I started to get the hang of it all and get "in practce" all the way.

J/K guy's.

Well yeah, I mean, it's not like I'm not constantly improving my times here. I can imagine what it must be like. Practically every time you go to your inbox there must be three new messages from me or UB57 saying that we have new times. :P Oh well, can't be perfect on your first time 'round...

WHOA There!!!
:D Ol' UB57 don't post a time 'till an hour or two before the deadline!!! Think you meant to include Oliver DePlace....UB57
:D

Well I got a PM about racing but Im too involved in the Driving League with the 001 - Theres just not enought time for me to run both races
When the F1 series had finished I'll be back to play !! Just to bring the numbers up cos I aint getting anywhere near the top - even in the F1 series !!

Well Ive been running a bit this week and its been consistant in the area I am ok with... but, I did get one, single, 1.02.5.

That was a nasty fast lap.

Ive also seen 23.0 on more than once.

Will either of those be in my end results... dont know, till then though....

later

Try about 2 minutes before the deadline for me most of the time

I just made a major advance in some ways...

I put down a 23.6 (not so good right?)

But it went into a 1.02.8

So now I am confident that by the end of the week I will be in the low 1.02's if not the high 1.01's.

I will be back soon if anything goes well.

But for now, I will be playing the game.

Well I am not quite up to the 1'02s yet, but have been running very constant

1'03s now :D I feel if I can get more time into this race I can get my times

down. I do however feel my lap time is not totalling what it should be

and I feel I am losing time in the third sector. I may not and it may just be my head screwing with me.

22.8 and 22.9 are now the norm.

I still am yet to break into the low 1.02's, but that will come soon enough.

Oh, ODP and Jpec, you know I'm just teasin you. I don't mind at all that's why I've never said anything about it other than jokingly. :)

Sigh. Why am I such a masochist?

How is this course taken, in detail.

I strain my hand, take turns tightly high speed, barely avoiding the wall on the outside of the turn. I feather the throttle, re input steering, go slower, go faster, but never to any worthwhile result. Why?

70 for t1
75-80 for t2
45 for t3
25-27 for t4
55-60 then 50+ for the tunnel
38-41 for the chicane
80+ for the next turn
55-60 for the turn after that
38+ plus for the penultimate turn
65-70 for the final turn

Why isn't that good enough when I can barely turn at those speeds but going slower does not seem to help? How people figure these things out? I just don't understand.

:(

Ive got a lot of replays recorded... Im gonna take a look at speeds for you sometime in the next day. (as I may be out with the boys in a matter of moments)

I'll get back to you, but I want to ask your setup, as in, are you using auto/manu. & tcs on/off & asm on/off.

Hit me with those three as I may have advice for that... Ive really felt connected to this track and car for the week.... sooooo........

Yeah, not saying good results for me, but...

I am saying there are several things I have learned during this week about cote.

The difference you can find in your times throughout the last 3 sections is amazing compared to the first. (of course thats given)

But on a good start with a moderate finish, you feel fast. Then on a bad start with a flowing second and third section, followed by that perfect start you practice every time and...

So keep at it.

"Break throughs will occur."

Your exactly right about the sector 3 guys , i have run a few more tonight as i knew my last section after T2 was crap , i now have 3 clean saves but with very different tales to tell

fastest save has 23.2 /1.02.1
next save has 22.8 / 1.01.9
slowest save has 22.9 / 1.01.6

difference between fastest and slowest laps = .4

so by my working i'm still .9 down on my perfect run

this course can be cruel with a few cars and with the zonda it's just plain nasty :(

good luck to the guy who can piece this puzzle together coz i cant ...... my patience is too thin and i'm running out of swearwords :D

I gotta try this again in a little bit...i tried earlier, but couldnt get anything, and had to stop when i JUST about threw my controller against the wall....i dont know how, but somehow i actually restrained myself and calmly set the controller on the floor...haha. I had to take a break and have a beer after that to calm me back down. So far I still cant beat my 23.3/1'02.7, and i KNOW theres still some time left in that last U-turn at the end of the track, but i just cant piece it together w/ another clean lap so far...so we'll see what happens...i have a feeling i wont be beating the time i have now

Just wanted to mention...

Ive just now noticed a reminder notice about this race.

Could have been there for god knows how long, but thanks anyway.

Hopfully everyone will take my lead and return without needing reminders... Um, yeah, better keep 'em comin boys. :D

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

haha, no problem kents 👍 I think those reminders really helped spruce up the competition this week, we've really been in a rut lately.

As for me, i FINALLY have a new clean time, be it only around .200 better, but its still better. More or less the same split times tho, 23.3 and a 1'02.666 :mischievous: haha, is that a sign? I think it is, a sign that this car is the DEVIL!!! Man, if it were any other car.... my lap times are really comin alive now tho, which makes me think my last time wasnt as good as i thought it might have been. theres still a lotta room for improvement in this rig, but who knows if i'll get it

I hear you on the "room for improvment" thing.

I can put down a 22.7 (best yet) and for some reason, that lap will have the same t2 as any other 23.2.

Its getting old, but its encouraging in ways.

When Im working and hit a certain time, then hit a t2 thats almost a full second slower, yet end up with a final that is faster... it makes me wanna go back to the game after Ive sober'd up and work till I feel like a fool once more.

btw, I managed a newer time that cemented my suspicions... I did hit a 1.02.5 early on.

Just now I hit a 1.02.4.

Sadly, it was on just an average t1. (if not a slow one.)

I think the thing about this course is doing what someone mentioned before... piecing the puzzle together.

There are so many sections with nasty turns that gaining time seems to always be possible. (yet always out of reach)

Anyway... Im done for the night, had my share of racing and booze. Luckily its a day off tomorrow and racing will continue.

'till then

forgot to mention...

idafc, you've progressed well and are now a great racer.

I was with you guys throughout weeks 22 and 23 (as well as since the begining) and noticed you did an excellent job of racing those weeks... low turn out or not (just in case your modest and woulnt admit it), the few laps I did with the shigeno at seattle told me that your racing has improved quite a bit. Well done.

Thanks man :embarrassed: Who knows, i'll probably be racing along side you pretty soon in the pro league. :scared:

 :banghead: :irked: Does anyone else NOT make it thru the first turn after the start line like 90% of the time like i dont?? Im having SO much trouble with that damn turn, it is the bane of my existence. Of the 10% of the time i DO make it cleanly thru the turn, 5% of that time i go too slow, therefore messing up my chance of getting anything good for the rest of the time. the other 5% of the time i get it, i usually screw up the lap somewhere down the road anyways. That turn is so imporatant to your lap time, and i cant figure it out!!! If anyone has any pointers that might help me tackle that turn better, please feel free to share. [/end rant]

New best sectors for me;

22.8/1.02.5:)

I'm chasing Mr p's ghost . i actually beat it until t1 and then lose it all:( :(

Oh well,i hope i do good this week

Yeah IDAFC21, I've been having trouble with the first turn as well.

The Zondas just don't like to turn, and in Arcade Mode with no tuning it makes it even more difficult.

I've just been trying to take it slow through there, even if I lose a litttle time I'm hoping that I can make it up somewhere else.
