A full year of the Weekly. :)
I want to thank everyone for all there efforts in keeping the weekly alive. I could not have made it a year if there were no great people like you all, around and I want to thank you for that. Thanks to everyone that has competed.

In all honesty I never thought that the Weekly would last a full year, but here we are, and as most of you know, I will be handing the controls over to someone else here very shortly and they will hopefully keep the WRS tradition going for another year.

Thank you all for making the WRS a success.
Now on to the race. :mischievous:

I'm sure this race will sound absurd to most of you, but I love this race and I hope you will to. I'm sure Mr. Holland will tell you all he hates this race with a passion. He has a reason to as I crushed him at this race to take the overall win in a Official GTPlanet race series about a year and a half ago. It was my very first experience in the world of Online Racing. Ahhh, good times, good times.

The Car: Fully modded Mazda 787b.

The Track: Cote D Azur (a.k.a - Monaco)

The Race: Hot Lap. Get your fastest lap time.

The Rules:

1. Stay off the walls. No wall touching or riding.
2. No hybrids.
3. No cheating of any kind.
4. Save your replay.

Time Discussion: All "T" times.

The Deadline: Monday at Midnight the 16th of February. Mountain Standard Time. Which is also the same as 0700, the 17th of February Greenwich Mean Time.

Dam boom you sure picked a doosy. Well at least i have the 787B and have unlocked the track so i will get into it as soon as possible

Congrats on the full year, boom! It seems like it started yesterday... I promise i'll try to get a time in this week.

ahhh, cmon man. I wanna see if my lap time can hold up to you and the rest of the crew.

Show me what you got. :mischievous:

@PunkRock Thanks man. Long time for both of our comps. ;) May your series have many more weeks, years :scared: to come. :)

Sounds scary, but definitely more fun than anything on Complex String. ;)
I'm in and once again looking forward to start racing. :D

Division 3 Racers

If this car proves to be a bit much, would you prefer no turbo upgrade as opposed to the stage 1?

Ooh! Ooh! The 787 and Cote d'azur! COOOOL! gimmegimme!

I don't think I'm able to put in a good time without being illegal, but I''' do my best. Its such a scary (Nice!) track with the 787B. Thanks boom! Excelent choice!

I haven't used stage1 turbo on this track yet, but I'll give it a go. I can allways loose the turbo if I think it's better right? Less power allowed? or turbo mandatory?

In the latter case I can also lengthen the gears, will have the same effect I think.

Your races are usually with cars that aren't used/configured for an attack on the database.
I think the car should have a standard turbo.
I'm sure there are people with setups and even replays of very fast laps, for the car with full mods.
IMHO, they would have an advantage over someone who hasn't made an attempt at a record in this car.
Plus, a quick look at the database would give you a target, without even getting in the car.

Let's see if I get this:

1. Oliver thinks that races with fully souped up cars are unfair because it gives certain people advantage? I don't see how?

2. Oliver says there are target times without getting into the car. I think it's very easy to find times on the web, agreed, but that doesn't change the way you drive. It depends on your skill and training.

I'm really not seeing the point I guess, can you explain what you mean Oliver?

Phew, at least boom isn't making us race a fully modded Escudo on Cote for the 1 year anniversary!

If I can manage to drag myself away from Knights Of The Old Republic I'll definitley try to put in some good times.

HA! Monte is probably the ONLY circuit in GT3 I have spent time on prior to this weekly figuring out a line around it! On top of that I usually did it with a 787b or a f094/s..... what can I say I'm an F1 fan and I tried to match F1 times (my own personal schumi moments).

Anyway....let div 3 drive the same car as div 1 & 2...otherwise you can't compare the times. We all drive the same car....or chop div 3 into it's own series with a different car ALWAYS. The 787b with stage 1 turbo (the ONLY "mod" for this car other than tires) is only 900hp or so.....plus the 787b can coast like a dream and it has great grip/turning. If it is too fast just coast around the circuit....easy to do....

The 787b is one of the best "coasting" cars in the game. It is really easy to get the car around Monte even with stage 1 loaded into it.

Thanks boom this one is going to be fun. If you are going to make div 3 run a stock 787b let me move up to div 2 this week only then....

:-)

Pfff, all those beautifull combos he can chose from for this anniversary... and he choses this?!?

Horrible.

Just horrible.

But congratulations on the full year, Boom!

it's not been a year until the conclusion of the 52nd week. next week had better be a doozy. if you guys would like, i can make a poll for mob rule selection of the anniversary race next week 👍

I took a few laps with the turbo installed and stock settings except for gears, downforce and T8s. It will take some restraint and some concentration to stay off the walls, but it certainly seems doable. Thanks for asking, but we can't chase the big dogs if we're under the porch. ;)

I'm not a big fan of the 787B so I'm sittin this week out. Maybe next week will bring something better.

i think its fair to make us div 3 guys do this fully modded as we have to do basically the same thing on S-8 to get our super license and in my opinon the 787B is much easier to drive than the Gt-One

I like the 787B, and I agree with gt4, it's easier to drive the 787 than the GT one....

Another race with mods, argh my disadvantage:mad:

the 787b is a pussycat, super fun to drive with a big sweet spot. it will be fine at Monte. Now the GT-one is jsut a pig there unless you crank the downforce to max! But they you loose out on the opening straight but stick the left hander into casino like glue.

:-)

I´m not also a big fan of the car, but I will take part to the race just because the anniversary!👍 At this point I would like to thank you all and especially boom for bringin the series to us. I have learned a lot better driving and such.. Thanks all.

And now back to PS2 :P

The Real Deal
Herman.

You aren't on the Driver List.

Have you PMed your qualification race time to boombexus? Until he assigns you a division, you cannot take part - although if he has received your PM it won't be long before you get one back.

And Lotus350, Division 1, is a woman.

A BIG Thanx to Boom !!! for 52 Great Weeks!!!
:D You provided my first exposure to OLR & my only only regret is that I've only run about 1/2 the Races. :(
Although I loved the Mazda my first time thru the "Game" I had to look thru 3 Memory Cards to even find one. It was a brand new stocker so I'm a little "Lost" as to the proper settings. Added tyres & the Turbo & after 5 Laps have clean times of:
T1 = 21.026
T2 = 58.706

Sure NOT gonna put the fear into any record holders & GT3Times or Racing Line where "Sough" & "bobkart's" times are "Scary-Fast"!!! Will try to get some more Laps in although w/My Tired Reflexes, High HP + Armaco Tunnels = Slow Laps!!!:irked:  :irked: Thanx Again...UB57 :D
