ahhh, cmon man. I wanna see if my lap time can hold up to you and the rest of the crew.

Show me what you got. :trouble:
I think you've misinterpreted my post. I am not saying that I won't be participating (even though I may not be able to), but I am saying, "No boom, it is we who should be thanking you".

2. Oliver says there are target times without getting into the car. I think it's very easy to find times on the web, agreed, but that doesn't change the way you drive. It depends on your skill and training.

I'm really not seeing the point I guess, can you explain what you mean Oliver?
1.) I'm not saying it's unfair, just that some would have an advantage. If someone has a world record for this car and track, it would be a simple matter to just submit that time and replay.
Hmmm, actually, that WOULD be unfair.
Even without that, just having the settings worked out before hand would be an advantage. Oh yeah and the hours of practice to learn the "marks", helps. Big time.

2.) Having a benchmark, to equal or surpass, gives my sessions more meaning. I usually have a short amount of time and it helps to know where it is I need to be. Rather than running lap after lap and wondering if they are fast, supassing a world record time for the car/track would be a good indicator.
It does make a difference. There have been weeks, in this series, where I've submitted a losing time and thought it was fast.
Later rerunning the race and realizing that I can go much faster.
Horse and carrot thing. :)

Hi again!

I drove a couple laps with the car and I´m surprised how good it is. But still, I´m a bit lost with the setup. Now I have a (drifty) clean lap, not so fast (in fact, it is very slow), with something like 22.x/59.x.
:trouble: ¨

I don´t have problem with the walls this time for some reason. Maybe I just had a good day. For now, good night, almost midnight here, and till later!

I don't think it's allowed to submit an old time, is it? It's supposed to be run this week. Even if it's not a rule, I would think of it as good manners to do so. It adds to the fun, too.

I think any car on any track would give one guy advantage over the other, everybody has his favourite combo's. I know people like the Altezza and hav run on Trail mountain before, so that's the same I guess...

Having a benchmark helps indeed, I agree. But hey, everybody is free to inform about times elsewhere. Just don't post race submission times on this forum to keep things exciting. (as far as I understand). T times give a great benchmark as well.

I am really starting to like this, I will never be a great racer, but it's nice to talk to people about racing, setups and driving together (more or less) on the same track. Really nice!

Thanks to boom for this great weekly event! I hope the series will continue for a long time!

ok I'm a bit frustrated of not getting a fast clean lap, I was around the 20.6/57.xxx but with a few bumps on walls around there...

still I'll try my best

wont be able to do this one. no cash and no time to make it up... and i dont have this car.
never mind :)
next weeks I'll do

Count me in for this week, I'm sure I can manage a clean lap or 2 for submitting 👍 Will post some sectors as soon as I get some

As the WRS is 1 year old, here's a list of the tracks used in the past 52 weeks, and what week they were used for.
52 weeks and not 1 midfield race!! :irked:

I too noticed that Kent was a moderator now, good job Kent 👍 does that mean you have the WRS now?

I guess I would suck if I didn't compete in this one. I'll give it a whirl here tonight.

Congrats Boom on the Weekly Race series. I learned many things about racing and Gran Turismo. And I got to meet and talk to some interesting people online, and you coming down and iLinking with the gang. I.... I promise I wouldn't cry!!!

That is just plain wrong.:irked: :grumpy:

This car sounds like a power drill. Very tough to control yet a pleasure to drive. Sectors to follow when and as I achieve perfection.

The Real Deal
Herman.

Thanks, now if I could just get this car to quit SLIDING ALL OVER THE PLACE!

I'll be dissapointed if someone doesn't beat the "world record" times here this week. I think it's totally do-able (maybe not by me :) ) I think this board has what it takes.

so I got home, checked the memory card I had a 787b on and found it had 500+ miles on it and was 21hp down. So I loaded my main game back in, put the stage 3 turbo in my RUF RGT and went and blitzed the like a wind race (over kill with a 1097hp RUF I know) and won a fresh 787b. Put the T8s and the stage 1 in and took it to Monte. God I love this car and I love this circuit!!!

I hope Monte is in GT4 with the reconfigured bits of the 03 F1 circuit....

I have the 787B kinda as same settings as the one I used for the F094/S at Rome, it's more or less similar, but geeze, the oversteer is still there, but at least it's manageable.

I'm relying on my old crutch the TCS to keep the oversteer down. My thumbs aren't sensitive enough to keep the throttle in check.

I need some help tuning to get this sliding through the turns business in order.

I've got camber up as high as I dare, downforce is all the way up... I have -.5 toe in the rear. Springs and everything are at defaults I think. I never touch the LSD.

Well, this is an unexpected turn of events. First, he announces that he's handing the reigns to someone else. Then, he tells us to take a 787b onto monaco! Actually, I kinda like this race. the 787b is one of my favorite cars in the game (even though I've never tuned it). This should be an interesting race.

Yo dude, first off...

TCS helps big time. (dont be ashamed to use it...the fastest racers do.)

Second...

Oversteer problems for you and you still have negative .5 camber in the rear...
Totally change that.
negative toe in the rear creates oversteer.
Toe in = positive
Toe out = negative.

Also, and finally, use the limited slip if your getting oversteer. Try starting low... either stock or something like 15/25/5. (I rarely use lsd on the braking side)

Anyway, good luck fellas.

and yes, as some have noticed, I am now a mod and yes, I am taking up booms spot sometime in the future.

Thanks for the congrats fellas.
(and for all the help... ladies too. :D )

Later.

Toe out = negative.

Christ! I always thought that toe in was negative. How have I survived?

20.4
55.3

If I'm reading things correctly, that should mean you have the new top record for this combo... let me check.

Edit: Yea I think that's right.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that it works the way you qouted... there was a big discussion on this subject not too long back and probably a million more before that one.

Good luck. :D

I cant turn this one down. I ran the 787b at special stage 11 (or whatever its called) a couple of years back and loved it. Im not staying at my house this week and dont have PS2 where I m at though so I will just have time over the weekend and on monday to run this but I will turn a time in
