After a highly successful Week 1, here we are at Week 2 - Monte Carlo! :D

After popular request, I changed the schedule to have Monaco on the same week as the Monaco GP. It'll be interesting to see how we go compared to the real F1s. :D

THE RACE: Monaco, Cote D'azur, Monte Carlo, call it what you like, it's that track with the chicanes and walls that jump out at you from everywhere. :D

THE RULES:

1. No hybrids
2. No wall riding
3. No shortcuts
4. No cheating
5. Save your replay
6. If possible, upload your replay onto the forums
7. A photo of your time is not required, but can be added if you like.
8. Please, NTCSers, don't use any of the 900hp + monsters
9. Hitting the wall is allowed, but obviously it will slow your time.
10. Running wide is allowed, but obviously it will slow your time.
11. The rumble strip is considered part of the track.
12. Have fun.
(If you think any more rules should be added here, PM me.)

THE DEADLINE: The dealine for your time to be in is Sunday, midnight, your time (meaning that you can race til 11:59 your local time then give me your time).

Testing will be held on the Free Run version of the course, with the actual race being held in the Hard Single Race mode. You can run the race as many times as you like to get the best time possible.

Testing officially starts now, and will finish on Friday, with racing time being all weekend.

You can discuss all of your intermediate times, but not you're whole lap. You can give generalisations, ie "I got down below 1'20", but not specific lap times.

Go have some good fun! :D

Cant wait to run this one Storm - 👍 for changing the course too - We'll compare with the real F1 cars
and beat them

SandStorm, interesting piece of trivia for you....

yer man Billy Connelly, or the Big Yin as he is known in his homeland used to tour Scotland with a folk band callled the HumbleBums...pubs and clubs etc, my Grandfather owned a pub in Ayrshire when the Big Yin played there in the early 70's and my Grandfather actually threw them out of him pub because of his lauguage....effing *unts etc. and his Celtic jokes...

everytime we see him on tv we shout 'GET OOT, YER BARRED!!'

Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson is playing my local venue this week sometime too....i think i got one of his tapes here somwhere....not as funny as the Big Yin tho'

TurboSmokin'

Heh, Big Yin is a funny bastard!

'GET OOT OF IT, YE WEE BASTRRD!' :D

Im not in the series but i thought that i would point out ..As a outsider looking in..But these 2 rules are a contradiction..

I think to avoid confusion is to remove one of them maybe rule 9..Just pointing this out ;)

Later

a fair call I'd say

and Kev is a funny bloke too, but you are correct, not as funny as Mr. Connolly

let me know how ya get on B - Looks like from race 1 results in need HELP!!!

One thing that helped me in race one was taking a look at BigP's 57.5, to at least see what some possible lines are. Might help to try to find a lap of Monaco if you're having trouble. Just a suggestion.

I really use to hate this track but I'm starting to come around on it. Still its very hard to be consistent and even to just avoid the walls!

I realized that I've never once looked at T2 splits on this track, too busy trying not to crash I guess. I'm using some rather odd settings but they are getting the job done. Way different then my TM settings.

57.5 ?? Where was that to look at ? 57.5!
on Trial Mount yeah ?

On this track does it matter if we jus brush the wall ? As long as u r genuinely tryin to aviod them and not just bangin straight into them thats alright is it ?? Its like a buildin site on this track !

Well it wasn't like I was able to duplicate the run, and sometimes a run is a little TOO fast and you don't benefit, but still I thought it was helpfull. As was a 1:07.5 on cote that I watched.

I think the thing with walls is, try not to hit em at all. If you hit some and it helps you, probably restart. If it gets pretty ugly but you're times are slowed by the wall bangs, its kind of a judgement call on if/when to start over.

Holy crapola, Sough, me 'n Bollocks are gonna have to find some way to reel you in!

crappola what man? you have no idea how fast or slow I am at cote. thanks though. Keep on plugging away guys I'm definetely catchable. F1's are tricky to milk all the time out of, keep exploring settings/lines.

by the way my T1's are usually high 18s so far. the other sectors will be more important though. That TIGHT 180 is brutal.

I agree. :D

I've been getting first sectors in the 18s as well, that 180, along with the chicane after the straight, and the set of corners nearest the pit, all put me right off. :nervous:

Now why can't I be as fast as you, Sough? Could you post some settings?

Well settings aren't everything sandstorm. And I think its very helpfull, and rewarding, to be able to work on a track and find good settings on your own. Of course monaco presents some unique challenges.

My monaco sets are way different than say gran valley sets, but they work. Somewhat unstable though. They are damn good for me so normally I might wait a few days and let people experiment but they're mostly not even mine so I won't hog them. Here's what I based my settings off of.

springs 12/16
Ride height 50/60
dampers 10/10 10/10
camber 0/0
toe 3/-.5
brakes 7/10
LSD 5/15/60
downforce 1.00/1.35
tcs 3 asm 0

fiddled with springs, height, camber, and downforce, but only in small amounts. I know it seems weird but give it a try and mix parts into your own setup if ya like.

Credit to Max E. for these settings.

Yeah I know settings aren't everything. I'm a very good driver (not the fastest, obviously) so if I get some good settings I should blast my way to kingdom come and back. :D

best T2 a 54.***
anybody else?

Haven't had a go yet. I might today.

I aint even ran it yet ! - Gonna have a good go tonight though. Does ne1 know what time the real F1 cars get here ??
(not that ours are fake !!! lol )
Gonna try Soughs setts as Im a bit clueless when it comes to really fine tuning the car

Try doing a Google search and look for the Monaco GP circuit. You might get some times then.

I'll have to have a go tomorrow. Looking to beat 54 T2. :D

Im really lookin forward to runnin this - I havent been on MC for ages !! Cant wait for tonight to blast under the tunnel !!! YEAH !!!

My turn tonight/tomorrow. Expecting to be above 1'10 :(

What time is it for you storm now ?
I am 1/4 past one in the afternoon !

Ahhh thats why u r always on when Im at work - lookin over me shoulder for the boss - and ur sleepin when I get home !!
