So I have to buy the car again in order to get a small downgrade? Pitiful display, PD, I'm very disappointed.

How? In real life its the same way for the most part. Sure you could maybe put a few things back in but for the most part, once you strip down a car's weight, ballast is the only way to gain that weight back.

So not pitiful display PD. Good display for keeping this part of the game semi-realistic.

Very realistic. If you stripped the parts, it would basically be the some as a chassis restore, where you get a new frame. The process would be time consuming and expensive, and overall not worth the extra work.

I'd like to see you fiddle around putting sound proofing and trims, air con system sound system and heavy seats back into a car rather than just putting a ballast into a car because it's infinitely easier and saves immense amounts of time.

You don't remove all excess weight for a track day and then put it all back in for the trip home, it doesn't work like that =/

It's perfectly reasonable.
