What are the best engine start up noises?

One sound that i thought would not sound all that was the Ford F150 Lightning. The V8 revs and it sounds bad!!!

But one of my favourites is the C63 AMG. It actually does sound like the real thing. The SLS AMG does aswell but it just sounds the same as the normal 6.2 litre V8 of the mercs:)
 
787b is a good'un - it initially sounds pathetic, like a washing machine - as it spins faster, then gets revved x2 and left to idle it suddenly sounds god-like.

Shelby GT350 '68 or whatever is another one that really would rather just be left to sleep :) - Makes a hell of a racket when it finally does go though
 
Buick GNX. It's an actual-honest-to-god recording of a Turbo Buick. It even sounds like it has a Hooker cat-back. My other favorites are the DB9's.
 
Slightly off topic, but the most-wrong engine startup is the Toyota 7 :D

Now - I'm not saying that finding one of these that WILL start is easy, or even possible - but they could have used something better than a second hand Yaris for it!! :)
 
My stock C6 ZR-1 rattles a few things in my room when I start it, thanks to a Sub my dad got me recently :sly:

I've still got to get a couple actual race cars, too many stock supercars and such right now

I think PD did a great job with engine start ups, sure there's a few off ones, but hey, I still enjoy starting a morning in GT with engine sounds
 
Another vote for the 787B. That car sounds like it eats small children in their sleep. Sometimes online I'll just bring the car to a stop and listen to the glorious brapping for a minute.

Also want to mention the '69 Camaro with race mod. Such a great sound.
 
Theres plenty that have great sounds, one of my favourite is the nascar, but I also agree that the mclaren sounds a bit squeaky
 
For all those Evo 1600GSR fans - get the Nissan Bluebird. Sounds absolutely 🤬 annoyed.
 
I'm in for the 69 Camaro.

Its a shame we can only hear them start up. It would be fun to just sit in it and rev the engine from the garage screen.
 
Another Vote for the 787B .

Its that sound :crazy:

Car sounds so Angry like it needs feeding , best idea would be to chain it too a Lampost and chuck it lumps or Raw Meat and Small Children to keep it mean :lol:
 
My favourites are the F10 and FGT. I love the sound of F1 cars!

I think those two have the same sound clip, as they sound so similar. I'm guessing the F2007 has the same sound again, but I haven't got one yet.
 
Oddball that's worth your time is the Jensen intercepted turn speakers up a bit and you appreciate the rumble of some 7.3 heavyweight.
 
The Audi R8 LMS makes my buttkicker shake my seat like no other and not only at startup. One of my fav. And the minolta.
 
787B - What's not to love about a 4-rotor engine? <3
Veyron - That high pitched powerful starter just is. . . awesome. Then the engine ROARS to life.
