"Feels like love" by Danger Danger.

One of the best feel good tunes I've heard especially if you're into your generic late 80's/early 90's metal/rock.

Look it up. Stick it on repeat.

I found it: the most 1976 video ever. Elvin thought his voice was too gravelly for this one, so he had his backup singer at the time, Mickey Thomas, sing the lead vocals. Mickey Thomas would later go on to be lead vocalist with Jefferson Starship/Starship.
Elvin Bishop - Fooled Around and Fell in Love

Aw, heck. Have another great country/soul classic from the ‘70s. And more Wolfman Jack while we’re at it.
Dobie Gray - Drift Away

A real treat coming up later today...

Yes - Tales from Topographic Oceans (1973)

Getting yet another re-release, the 'Super Deluxe' boxset comes out today, and is already on Spotify. TFTO has never been my favourite Yes album (far from it...), but it is still a special piece of work, and I'm going to dig into the boxset tonight.

This release does fix one glaring issue on Spotify. Yes, and this album in particular, are famous for their beautiful Roger Dean album covers. Spotify have for years wrecked this aspect of Yes's work by adding a hideous yellow border denoting 'DELUXE EDITION' - a visual insult to the original artwork and, in typical Spotify form, unchangable. So seeing a new release without this abomination all over the cover is fantastic - the irony is, it is the deluxe edition 😅

The big question now is whether to buy the boxset - at £108 plus delivery, it's pricey... (but nowhere near what others are charging for their special releases), and contains 12 CDs, 2 vinyl albums and a Blu-ray.

-

edit: I had a chance to listen to both new versions of the album on my way to and from the hospital today, and wow... very impressive!

edit 2: The instrumental versions are absolutely sublime... the vocals are a prominent part of this album, but they don't always work for me; and, they obscure a lot of the detail of the instrumental sections.

Cold Turkey - Nobody's Fool. This Ray Davies-written number is the theme song to the second series of 1970s drama serial Budgie.

Seven Eight albums from this band (and a non-album single):

Plus some selctions from these LPs which I thought were patchier:

A friend’s mom was a huge XTC fan. She once said English Settlement was god’s proof that he loves us and wants us to be happy.
I wonder what she thought of "Dear God".

The mods keep deleting posts in this thread to save space so here's another record I posted before.
