So, having listened to the album several times, I'm more convinced that it's the Chili Peppers' best. "Encore" is probably my favourite track, with "Dreams of a Samurai" a close second and "The Getaway" third. "This Ticonderoga" is the only one that falls short, as it feels rather disjointed, though I am not overly fussed on "Detroit".Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Getaway
I've always liked the Chili Peppers; they're one of the few bands that keep a very distinctive sound, but produce wildly different albums. The Getaway is no different, and is probably their strongest album since Californication. It's got the ambition of Stadium Arcadium, the maturity of By the Way and the focus of I'm With You.
