The Flower King, 1994, the fourth solo release from Swedish guitarist Roine Stolt, of the progressive rock group Kaipa starting in 1973, The Flower Kings following this release (and with the same musicians) and the progressive rock supergroup Transatlantic.

The multi-movement "Humanizzimo"--coming in at just shy of 21 minutes--is a triumph.

Still a cool song to hear and play until now.

Except not through YouTube, listening to the album/songs directly.

It's that time of year again.

Every year, at the end of the year, this Dutch radio station spends a few days to marathon a list of the greatest songs as voted by the public, ending with number one right as the new year starts. Since anyone can vote for whatever they want it usually ends up being a pretty healthy mix of genres, even if it does tend to lean a bit more towards the classic rock and pop. It's one of the rare times I'll turn on the radio these days, and it's one of those new years traditions that brings a bit of "home" to me all the way over in the US.

The Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe album. The only album that came from this short lived Yes offshoot.
