Per “Weird Al” Yankovic:

”’Al's Brains was originally created as an educational 3-D attraction for the Orange County Fair (Costa Mesa, CA). It debuted there in July 2009, and also had a successful run in September 2009 at Western Washington's Puyallup Fair.
Since then, it has been "lost media"... until NOW.

I wrote and directed this crazy thing, which features the voice of Billy West (as Norm the owl) and cameos from Thomas Lennon, Patton Oswalt, Tim & Eric, Fabio, Paul McCartney, and my mother-in-law Sally.

Please bear in mind that this was in fact developed as a 3-D attraction, so it definitely loses a LOT in 2-D... but I thought you guys might like to see it anyway!”

Rewatching Reacher season 1 had me checking out the bluesman whose grave he was looking for, so I picked up these two Blind Blake compilations.

More Lee Morgan. From what I've heard I like his mid-1960s period better. Too bad his girlfriend shot him down at the age of thirty-three. Will check out his Netflix documentary to find out why.

I have two of his albums, The Sidewinder and The Rumproller. They’re great albums, but I should really check out more of his work. I didn’t know there was a biopic about him. I’ll check it out the next time I subscribe to Netflix.

Today’s soundtrack:

Look Blue Go Purple - Cactus Cat [New Zealand, College Rock] (1986)

Human Barbie - Ghosted

DILLWEED - gasping for air

Grazer - When You Looked At Me

Brice Blanco - B Here

Sidewinder is okay but as the ritle cut's chart success saved Blue Note from bankruptcy it's no surprise that label boss Alfred Lion asked him to put a copycat track on almost every album he released in the next few years and it gets a little repetitive after a while.

The less commercial stuff is much more interesting to my ears. This track is a showcase for drummer Billy Higgins in the form of a whole tone blues.

I checked Netflix UK and the documentary I Called Him Morgan (2016) has long been deleted so I'm gonna have to keep looking for it.
