I'm about 3/4 of the way through it. Jessica Chastain does a very good job portraying Tammy Faye. I know the dialog is mostly made up but I can totally see some of the things the Jerry Falwell says being very accurate to what that dirtbag said in real life. What a piece of human garbage he was. He ain't up in no heaven.
Don't normally watch Adult Swim, but when I do it's mainly Samurai Jack. Now I'm starting to watch clips of a series on the UK version called Primal. Really interesting.
I watched the newest Pixar movie, Turning Red. A fun coming-of-age movie. I especially loved the character Priya.
And having realized I’ve missed out on a LOT of Pixar movies over the past several years, I decided to go back to the oldest movie I haven’t seen yet, Toy Story 3. I was expecting a real tear-jerker, but it wasn’t that bad. Still plenty sad in places, but still a comedy. I thought the furnace scene was pretty powerful.
My Let's Catch Up With the Last Ten Years of Pixar FilmFest continues. Sunday night I watched Monsters University. It was fun. You can't go wrong with Billy Crystal as Mike and John Goodman as Sully. And Helen Mirren was brilliant as Dean Hardscrabble. But it felt like Pixar was just resting on their laurels with this one.
I watched Inside Out last night and it was amazing. This is Pixar at it's best, challenging themselves to make the best movie they can.
This one's a little strange for me in that I completely missed it had even been released. The movie is cinematically gorgeous. The plot is a little thin but well told. There were several good ideas like T-Rex's becoming ranchers and herbivorous dinosaurs becoming farmers.
It's rare I like a sequel as much as the original, but it was a great story and Ellen DeGeneres was simply amazing as Dory.
