On a similar front, I just finished World War Z. I'm sure I've seen it at some point but I didn't remember much of anything about it.

I'd go with a 6 or 6.5/10.

Bones is my comfort show. I've been watching modern anime (Demon Slayer, Dan da Dan, Sakamoto Days). Of the modern shows, lately I enjoyed Wednesday, and I'll continue with Alien Earth. In miniseries format Band of Brothers is my GOAT, but I've enjoyed many others. Of reality shows, I enjoy cooking shows like MasterChef.
You mean the Bones show that aired on Fox from 2008? I remember that TV crime series.

I have the first few seasons on dvd and watched them around the time of meeting David B last summer at the London Comic Con. It's a fun show with a great ensemble cast.

Currently finishing my rewatch of Strange New Worlds season 2, will then sub to Paramount+ for a month for season 3. Luckily I didn't hear too many spoilers over the weekend for season 3. Jess landed at Heathrow at 11am on Saturday and was back in the US on Monday and filming on Tuesday - must have been a crazy few days for her!

Just saw the newest episode of Ghost Adventures.
Man, poor Aaron... I hate that he has to deal with that...

Just started Alien Earth. First two episodes. While not great with lots of questionable decision making and world building it is fun nonetheless. Especially if you are interested in the Alien universe anyways. The philosophical questions being raised are interesting. The gore is strong.

Wife and I watched that on release day. Hits in the feels.

So last night we watched the new Documentary about the RHPS made by Richard’s son and it was excellent and nice to see the original actors and hear some new insights into one of our favourite Films / Stage Shows.

So it was only fitting to watch the 50th Anniversary UHD. Despite being a super low budget its new-ish scan is serviceable. It’s never going to win any awards for clarity as film stock, lenses and lots of opticals used degrades a lot of the shots. Some not even any better than the DVD. However there are some lovely closeups and mid shots which have some decent details.

Colour and shadows are also not standout, again due to film stock used. The HDR 10 resolves much brighter than the rather flat looking Dolby Vision, but the DV does bring more shadow detail through for what’s it’s worth in a few scenes.

The new audio by House of Mouse is bad too; Very quiet. Thankfully it has the old audio which is much better and fuller sounding.

I’d say if you have a Blu-ray copy then I’d stick with it as you’re not getting a huge upgrade here on and level.
