I honestly thought this was gonna be a stupid movie because it had Matt Damon in it ( cue the Team America reference ) but I was blown away by how good it really was. i know there are some historical inaccuracies but this movie nailed it

I also bought the art book by Kosuke Hayashi, the film's Art Director and principal background artist - he would later work for Studio Ghibli on 'The Boy And The Heron' (aka 'How Do You Live?' In Japan), and it too is breathtakingly beautiful.

Some of the background art:

Here's some of the background art in Violet Evergarden, just from the two movies (it has 4 parts; a 13-part series, 1 special, and 2 films).

Backgrounds from the series and special.

You seemed so happy and full of life back in 2008. Its a shame that life was seemingly so difficult for you since then. Rest in peace Hayden :(

It had a slow build up but an explosive finish. Stewart grew the beard like Sisko and his own animated counterpart. Lotta tell don't show like everything I read written by Tom King.

Enjoying another RiffTrax Live. Guest riffers are Bridget Jones, Mary Jo Pehl, Trace Beaulieu, Frank Conniff, and Paul F. Tompkins. The live shows are always so much fun.

Watched first two episodes on HBO Max, great ninja anime:

I watched the pilot of Lanterns (HBO Max) and I'm intrigued so I'll keep watching, and later today I will watch the latest episode of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.

I watched the first episode of the new series of the (comedy) drama about a socially awkward, highly intellectual, crime consultant helping police in a famous historical University city...

;)
Have to say, I really enjoyed both!

@sirjim73 - My wife is literally watching Professor T right now.

I'll have to tell her about Ludwig.

Rewatching in preparation for the sequel. This movie gets more and more unbelievable and incredible as it progresses and I'm all for it. Highly recommended.

Sisu 2 was way over the top. A fun movie, but the first one is better.

I loved it. It's like the director ran out of plausible ideas and they had to put a rocket up his arse to finish the movie. Seems like he had to step through broken glass to get there.

Pom Poko (1994) - Isao Takahata (Studio Ghibli)

Even by SG standards, this film is pretty wild - nothing like what I was expecting, and nothing like Takahata's other films that I've seen (Grave Of The Fireflies, and The Tale Of Princess Kaguya)... that's a pretty high bar by anyone standards, and although I don't think this is quite on the same level as GOTF, it is not a film that I'm going to forget in a hurry... it's nuts in pretty much every sense of the word

Never mind Spiderman et al, the biggest 4k release of the year is nearly upon us. And looking drop (un)dead gorgeous...:

Hoping that the cinema release includes somewhere practical for me to see it (last year's showings of The Curse of Frankenstein were midweek and miles away!). But I'll be pre-ordering the collectors edition anyway [the collectors edition of The Curse of Frankenstein last year was outstanding]

Reacher S01E01: Welcome To Margrave. I already watched that season but need a refresher before hopefully going on to the rest of the series.

Just finished with first, and only, season.
Excellent show with good story and great fights!
There where be for sure another season.

Lanterns (HBO Max) up to episode 3, and Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, also up to the latest episode. I also watched on Netflix the miniseries about the Lockerbie bombing, and I've watched the first episode of a similarly themed series on Amazon Prime, this one featuring Colin Firth as a grieving father investigating the bombing.

Just started season 4 last night.
Jeebus season 4 is firing on all cylinders…had to rewatch season 1 this week too, dudes transformation into the juggernaut is crazy

For the fourth time, I watched Green Book - definitely one of my favorite movies of all times!

I failed to buy 4K UHD Blu-ray from imusic, nowhere else I'm not finding 4K edition and UK stores are taking taxes to Croatia.
