I’m watching The Day the Earth Stood Still. In a coincidence, it and Star Trek: The Motion Picture were both directed by Robert Wise, and in the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, it’s shown that Captain Pike is a fan of The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Too bad they couldn't've worked in a Sound Of Music connection, musical episodes (like "Subspace Rhapsody") and Georg von Trapp's role as Chang in Undiscovered Country notwithstanding.

Watched more Haikyu with my friend last night. So far, my favorite characters are Kenma (reminds me of myself with his super introvertedness ) and Yachi (she's cute when she's shy).

Whisper of The Heart (1995) - Studio Ghibli

I've been revisiting my Studio Ghibli collection, and have started to make my way through the other half of the collection that I've never bothered to watch before, and I'm regretting leaving it so long before watching some of these, and 'Whisper Of The Heart' is a particularly excellent example of a Studio Ghibli film. It's a very low-key story, and an ultra-realistic depiction of everyday life - in stark contrast to the fantastical worlds and characters of other SG films; and yet, it manages to be absolutely captivating and, at times, magical.
