i was just doing a comp and in the race there was a speeder or speedster car...what car brand or car is this.I have the euro/australian version. Thanks.

The Opel Speedster is another name for the Vauxhall VX220.

The VX220 is fundamentally a luxury Lotus Elise, given that it has such niceties as a radio! It also has a larger engine - a 2.2L GM lump as opposed to the de facto (for British track cars) 1.8L Rover K-series.

I've actually driven a VX220 in anger, and I have to say that it's a cracking car. Nice to look at in the metal, it's got smooth power delivery all the way up to the redline, and an unusually nice gearshift for a Vauxhall.

Not a bad car at all.

The Elise is faster than the Speedster. I've tried the Speedster at the Test Course and it can go up to 123 MPH! For the Elise, it is about 150 MPH.

For some reason I have never felt attached to the Speedster. But, after driving it, it is actually an outstanding car. Worthy of modifying.

i don't think any Fiero can, or has, ever held a 3.8 . it'd be nice to see, though.

the VX220 has a GM block??

You obviously know nothing about fieros.

the most common engine in a fiero (1985-88) is the 2.8L EFI V6, used in millions of GMs, celebrities, cavaliers, etc.

a popular swap into a fiero is a caddy northstar, blown 3.8, or 350V8.

Well yes Vauxhall are owned by GM, same with opel. Although I think the initial design was from vauxhall. The VX220 and the Lotus tuned carlton are the only 2 vauxhalls I would love to have.

well, i'll be...we've got lots of car shows, and lots of Fieros; the biggest engine i've ever seen is like a 3.4 or so, and it looked pretty cramped.

well in my version there are vx220's so are you sure it is that? I can now remember that in the race their were 2 vx220's in it...maybe they called the 3rd a speedster for some reason?

I was racing against one in the amateur british cup thing as well as a elise, and i have to say that it absolutely blitzed my near stock esprit and everythingelse on the track!!!

must have had a stage 20 turbo or sumfin... gawd it flew!!!

Oh and jward24, in your question

The speedster is the equivalent of the Vx220
PD must have messed up ONCE AGAIN.....
they forgot to change all the "speedsters" in the Pal version to be called Vx220..
so thats why you see it being called Speedster

Speedster=Vx220

Hiya, new user here :)

Just wanted to add that both the Opel and Vauxhall versions are availible in the PAL version of the game.

If you choose any other language then English at the start of the game then all the Vauxhall cars will be Opel and instead of the Vauxhall UK base it will be listed under German manufactures.
